I was excited to come to this thread as I have no one to discuss Love Island with but I am so disappointed to see yet more ‘I reckon he is gay’ rhetoric. Yet another year of claiming some man in love island must be gay because he behaves a certain way that doesn’t fit a watchers idea of how a man should behave. There have been two men who have had this on this thread for different reasons.

Why do people still do this? Maybe they’re bi, maybe they’re straight and just different to your expectations - so what? Poor Curtis was forced to come out as bi when he didn’t want to do so publicly because people
wouldn’t leave him alone. It’s 2026 why are we still doing this? Grow up, it’s such childish behaviour and it’s not fair.

If you don’t care about slurs such as homophobia, racism, sexism and so on, that’s fine, but you don’t need to act immaturely towards those who do care and want to call those things out. Thankfully, we live in a society where lots of people do decide to call this shit out and hope for a better society. If that’s not you, maybe you should take a good look at why you think it’s better to attempt to be rude to the person calling out slurs instead of calling out those making them.

I disagree. I see speculation comments online and other forums.

Its called Love Island and is very shallow and production only show staged chats mainly. So if someone sticks out then people are gonna wonder if maybe they arent straight.
Which is fine. Its more taking the piss out the producers for having to constantly say kiss a member of the opposite sex. Sitting boy girl boy girl boy and so many other things about this show which attempts to hide peoples true intentions.

Only one poster is calling speculation of being gay a slur, and they might want to think about why they viewed it like that. No one else said it was a slur at all.

I was the poster who said ‘are we sure he isn’t gay?’ about Sam - how is it homophobic to ask a question? I also said I didn’t like how Sam was with the 2 bombshells when they went in as he didn’t seem like a nice guy to me.

I’m sorry if you’re offended but no offence was meant as I don’t see being gay as a bad thing - would assume he’s on LI to raise his profile (as I believe they all are).

I agree doesnt matter if any of them are gay straight or bisexual.
But it makes to discuss esp if two people are flirting with each other or share a lot of chemistry.

Can't you see how it forces men to act a certain way? Women aren't always questioned about their sexuality if they don't act stereotypically feminine

I disagree - I’m not expecting to him act a certain way but rather to have chemistry with the girls he says he likes & I have seen no chemistry there whatsoever. He seems bland and boring & completely uninterested in all the girls, hence me wondering if he is gay as the girls are all stunning & very different, so would have thought that someone would have been his type (or at least to show an interest in) if he were straight.

Unfortunately, I think she will take him back.
