Mine is The Big Bang theory, I first watched it a couple of years ago and just love it. It’s funny, Iove all the characters and the relationships they all have with each other, and that there is someone for everyone.

Lots of favourite episodes, I love the one when Sheldon and Amy get married, especially the bit when Stuart knows all the answers to the Star Wars questions and the look on his face when Denise says ‘you are so hot’.

I also love the opening night excitation when Sheldon and Amy have coitus and Leonard, Raj and Howard are watching the Star Wars movie with Will Wheaton (live long and suck it). DH likes the parking spot one the best.

The Americans is one if my favourite shows, where even with 6 seasons the writing just got better and better.
I finished watching it again recently, love the ending it’s brilliant - I think this must be the third time I’ve watched the series all the way through over the last few years.

The West Wing is also brilliant, but I feel like it went down a bit in the later seasons after Aaron Sorkin left.

I don’t know many people who have seen The Americans but oh my goodness it’s one of the best things on TV. At first I thought it had too much sex and violence (for me) but I’m glad I stuck with it. I watched it some years ago but am STILL haunted by the Brothers in Arms final scenes. And the train scene, oh wow. I don’t know if I’ll watch it again as I worry it wouldn’t have the same impact second time around. It’s interesting that it keeps you going back.

My favourite episode is ‘The Precious Fragmentation’ where they buy a random box of stuff from a garage sale and find the One Ring from LOTR. Love the ballet dance and Sheldon’s nightmare.

I have watched quite a few series several times over:
Criminal Minds (oh Spencer, how I love thee) although the last couple of series have been disappointing. Elias Voit was SO boring!
The Mentalist
Grimm
NCIS
Bosch (love these, Titus Welliver is PERFECT as Harry 😍)

I've definitely got a type looking at these 🤣

Harry Bosch! What a man!
If I had any hormones left he would be right up my street.
Have you watched Bosch Legacy?
Also Ballard?

Fernticket · 06/06/2026 19:19

Doc Martin.
MASH
New Tricks
First few series of Benidorm
Pride and Prejudice.
Still Game.
And like a previous poster, I love the film Steel Magnolias

I rewatch Buffy every year. Literally started it again last night and then my phone buzzed with the news 💔

The Americans is one of my all-time favourites as well and I have just finished my second full watch. (I'd rewatched the season six finale a few times before).

There are a few filler episodes in a few seasons which are more noticeable on second watch (and I'm not a massive fan of season 5), but the characters and amazing overall story arc (plus noticing details that you don't in the first watch) more than made up for it.

I still got the same feels throughout and even after having watched the finale a fair few times, the garage scene with Stan still gave me goosebumps.

Firefly gets a watch once a year, usually started when I'm lying on the sofa ill feeling sorry for myself.

Buffy / Angel and Battlestar Galactica all get an airing every few years or so. Most recent rewatch of each was introducing DD to them, was great to see them through fresh eyes.

Outside of sci-fi, Coupling, Scrubs and How I met your mother get fairly frequent airings

I can't wait to introduce DD to Buffy, but she's only just turned 10 so I feel it may be a couple of years yet. How old was yours when she watched it?

I went through a phase of watching Firefly repeatedly, but haven't for probably over 10 years, so definitely need to schedule a rewatch in!

BobbysDazzler · 06/06/2026 20:11

Grace and Frankie on Netflix.

Watched it many times, just as funny and quirky every time 😂

We started a bit late with Buffy, think DD was 15. If you were watching it as it came out, it'd probably be OK to start as a 10 year old. But you're likely to get through it significantly quicker than a season a year, and I wouldn't fancy having to sit through the attempted rape and other stuff that goes on in season sex with a pre teen.

I can recommend Warehouse 13 at that age though. DD loved it, and it's a similar sort of fantasy and found family vibe to Buffy, while being a lot lighter in tone.

T1mesAreHardForDreamers · 06/06/2026 20:45

Ohhh yes to Ugly Betty and though it is new to me and Im not finished it, Emily in Paris! Very light, fluffy and cheesy 😋

Thank you 👍

Yes, I was potentially thinking of maybe letting her watch the first season (and maybe second), but would definitely wait for the later seasons. I was 14 when it first came out, but I actually only watched up to season five (I think when it moved from BBC?) then and only watched the rest as a much older adult.

I'm actually going to start a rewatch so will assess suitability as I go.

poalpalt · 06/06/2026 21:10

@Namechangeagain134 be ready for the potential crushing disappointment of them laughing and saying “how OLD is this?!” 💔😭
