I realise they are outside without ready access to a plug but there are such things as extension leads.
Why on earth don’t they use a food processor for all that heating?

Exactly, was just thinking that - treat it like polenta. Mind you, the snails might be a challenge.

We had breadfruit in St Lucia and I think pepper pot too. Very similar cuisine. The fishermen used to come into the beach with their catch and the chef would go down to choose what to buy for lunch and dinner.
