First thread of the year! Let us reconvene here for further discussions

Of the three of them Jo Jo will annoy me the most if there's too much lovie lovie, hand holding tearfulness going on.

StrictlyCoffee · 21/05/2026 14:17

I like Josh. I think he’ll be good. And for people commenting on his looks and lack of glam, Bruce Forsyth hardly had those things either. I can just imagine the responses if people weren’t saying a female presenter wasn’t attractive enough.

I don't think that's what people are implying, though. It's more than he's not "fahbulous" or flamboyant, or Mr Saturday Night, or any of the words that could be used for Strictly! Brucie was loud and excitable and an established presenter.
Josh isn't any of those things.

However, I still think he should be given a chance, since bigger names weren't hired, as he was deemed to be so good

More of an influencer @KitchenColourandstyle she has a program about running a caravan park with her Dad. I think she does radio. She has very young twins and an older boy.

Isn't she a footballer's wife?

You've not seen Emma in anything at all? She's everywhere

I haven't seen her in anything either, so what does that say about what shows she presents - shows I'd never watch - so I'll have to be surprised by her. She's as unlikely a model as Sara Cox was though.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 21/05/2026 16:39

@WhenTheDustSettles Maybe? I think so. The father of her first child went to prison

This is in reply to my post about Dani Dyer not Emma Willis?

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 21/05/2026 18:13

Yes @WhenTheDustSettles the father of Dani Dyers little boy went to prison for something

She’s married to the West Ham captain, Jarrod Bowen.

Emma Willis - good choice, really experienced with live and reality TV.
Johannes - will miss him as a dancer. I like him, he seems very nice, but I don’t know how he would work as a presenter.
Josh - only ever seen him on The Last Leg, so on the basis, it’s a no from me.

I would have liked Zoe or Fleur in the mix.

I quite enjoy Josh on the radio, but I just think he would be too laddish and a big contrast with Johannes.

Yes, I think that’s my problem with him.

i guess we’ll see.

tennissquare · 22/05/2026 14:16

Josh’s podcast - parenting hell - covers his excitement in the episode released today.

FedBeGone · 22/05/2026 14:57

@tennissquare

I listened to that. It was nice to hear him being so positive (for a change!) and has somewhat mitigated my negative opinion posted upthread, although he did confirm that he will still be doing Last Leg on a Friday too. Rose is going to have a lot of weekend parenting to do!.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 22/05/2026 20:27

Is it just me or does Josh appear to say on his podcast that all 3 hosts will work together on a Saturday night?

I don't know. What DOES that say about the shows she presents? What are you implying?

Woodfiresareamazing2 · 23/05/2026 01:20

I'm happy with Emma, she's a very experienced presenter of live TV. She's also got good empathy, she's very likeable, and she is beautiful.

I find Johannes really irritating to listen to for more than 30 seconds, and the constant crying is really tiresome. Let's hope he reins that in.

Josh is a bit of an unknown for me, and I really wonder about his casting. But maybe he will surprise me and be great 🤷‍♀️

I couldn't detect any chemistry between them at all in their VT.

That whatever they are have obviously passed me by.

After your post I looked up her CV so to speak, no none of the shows she's worked on interest me and I wouldn't watch any of those, so this is why I've never seen her on anything. In fact I would say Strictly is the most 'credible' thing she's done, a step up from Big Brother, jungle, This Morning, Loose Women, stuff with Ant & Dec etc. I think she will be good.

MovedlikeHarlowinMonteCarlo · 23/05/2026 13:30

I'm not sure Strictly is more credible than any other show. They are all just frothy, light entertainment.

I really like Emma and think she'll do a good job.

SweetBaklava · 24/05/2026 17:02

Emma will be great! She has far more personality than Tess who I always found too ‘wooden’. I think the reasons Tess got the main gig when BF left was because she was a safe pair of hands, knows the drill every Sat night, and the ultimate professional (disclaimer… I’ve been to the live shows twice and she was faultless behind the scenes, and brill with BF). I think Emma’s extensive experience in live tv presenting similarly make her a safe bet. I think the boys are a risk… but maybe it’ll pay off 🤷🏻‍♀️ As for Emma’s radio show, it’s dreadful - she’s much better on telly! I’m guessing someone else will stand in for her every Autumn while SCD is on - I’ll look forward to that 😄

kazzaD66 · 24/05/2026 17:44

Be careful what you wish for! Radio 2 have some pretty dire stand ins at times HmmGrin

JaneFondue · 24/05/2026 17:47

Despite being a long time Strictly fan, I have been watching on catchup the last couple of years, so I can fast forward through all the crying and shrieking and filler. Often even the judges comments.

I expect to do even more of the same now. Not so keen on these hosts and increasingly just focus on the dances.

kazzaD66 · 24/05/2026 17:51

Same here. It's amazing how much time can be saved by fast forwarding through all the unnecessary shite, especially in the early weeks Grin

JaneFondue · 24/05/2026 17:52

Also every year there is a contestant I absolutely cannot bear to watch. For various reasons.
