I was was watching one of Richard Frank's skits the other day and was thinking the same ...
He would be fantastic on Strictly and it would give him a bigger platform.

I am surprised he is not more well known .

I watched I hate Suzie (loved it) and he appeared briefly in one episode as Matt but I cannot recall him at all, so it must have been a bit part.
I might rewatch that episode.

I love my Strictly so will watch whatever but I usually know a lot more than the current crop.
It needed changing so names I know will be deemed to be old hat (I am 55) and potentially passed over. Even if that's not the case, the press intrusion and the flat fee for a couple of months, has put off so many still left to do it.
And there are quite a few who I am surprised haven't or weren't asked. They aren't at the height of their fame now so the time has passed probably.

He always seems to come across as much taller .

Maybe the cast he plays opposite are really small !!

Household Names!

I don't watch Emmerdale but Lewis did well last year I am sure he will do.ok. least some people might know who he is.

The thing is with Strictly it was a huge draw when it began as a vehicle for self promotion But! Not everyone can be amazing and it’s just as possible to become the joke contestant as it is to shine.

Plus, anyone in a fragile relationship would avoid it because of The Strictly Curse. The brand is a bit tarnished in that respect

Surely that depends on your household ? 🤔

A household that watch soaps will know them .
A household that watches mainly documentaries and presenters ..will know them .

Those that only watch Oscar winning films...

I am obviously generalizing with my musings above but it just show how none of us can all know the same people.

I love the diversity as I always tall my young adult DS and he always knew some of the ones aimed for the youngsters and it was a nice conversation boost !

Okay, on the subject of household names, I'm guessing you mean someone like Alex Kingston from last year? Maybe Toyah from the year before? Angela Ripon? Annabelle Croft? Anneka Rice? Tony Adams?

Because those are who I would call household names as they are the ones a I recognise growing up and watching. I do also get that they are all "a certain age" so they won't appeal to some people and they would be the nobody/WHO? to them.

I think we just need to accept that we will see fewer celebrities of that calibre on Strictly every year.
