Lose the public vote, I guess. We didn't have it years ago.

Then we are back to voting for our neighbours

TightlyLacedCorset · 17/05/2026 00:18

Why did our song do so badly?

I think it was probably an element of politics

But also it was out-camped. It therefore fell flat amidst all the high boots and glittery chain mail.

The staging once again fell flat.

We consistently have a problem with staging.

Bulgaria won the juries and the public vote. It’s been a while since that happened. So it’s a deserving winner in my book.

Agreed.

Tbf Russia started their conflict...

You need a history lesson.

@Bluetakhi not liking the Israeli government does not make a person anti-Jewish. Plenty of Jewish people, including Israeli's do not agree with Netanyahu's actions against Gaza, Lebanon and Iran.

Honestly, my heart breaks regarding these places being destroyed. Lived both in Lebanon and Iran too, some years back and it hurts to see this. Utterly destroyed. I detest Israels leaders and stance, I have no issue with ordinary people from Israel or follow the jewish religion.

I also think that it is really important to have good vocals and sadly we didnt have that. As in not much "singing"

spoooooons · 17/05/2026 00:10

Does anyone really give a shit?

It’s been a thing as long as I’ve been watching Eurovision starting as a child in the 80s.

ErroltheSwampDragon · 17/05/2026 00:21

mathanxiety · 17/05/2026 00:15

And what precisely has that got to do with a pop song contest?

Lots of people complaining about political voting regarding Israel but also making political statements themselves.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion but if the run up to the competition keeps being dominated by discussions about banning/boycotting, Israel's supporters (or those who just don't see it as black & white) are going to keep rallying for Israel.

Yes, they gave 12 points to Bulgaria’s bouncing boobs

I didn't even notice anything related to her chest, at all.

Maybe men aren't the perverts after all...

I thought his voice quite weak but I did like the song.

I’m glad the fucking boobs have it. We watched the semi finals and enjoyed her performance that’s how we knew she would win. I’m so glad Israel came second I had a previous comment not allowed purely because it mentioned Israel, the hatred in this country is intolerable they should be not protest against any religion, community, or any section of society. I grew up in the 90’s we never had this devision social media has increased hatered between every section of society and no one seems to identify this. There should be no division in this great country we all stood for values and acceptance and fought wars for a society that excepts everyone and today’s protests prove everything that is wrong with this country. Where is the decency and acceptance in modern life we are all human and together.

I grew up in the 70s. Plenty of division back then too. Have you never heard of the National Front?

thecatsthecats · 17/05/2026 00:21

As a quarter Jewish genocide scholar with big boobs, I'm DELIGHTED by Bulgaria's win.

And it's so pleasing to see something genuinely left field top the Jury and Public votes.

Iocanepowder · 17/05/2026 00:22

Comefromaway · 17/05/2026 00:04

Israel pay for votes.

Interesting. Do you happen to have a link to evidence?

I actually thought our song really stood a chance.

I thought it was fun and upbeat, and it really got the crowd going.

I’m normally the first to criticise our entry - but I genuinely thought this year’s entry was great.

When you look at some of the acts that scored higher, objectively it’s nonsense.

We are absolutely detested.

We could stick Beyoncé on stage and still come last.

Comefromaway · 17/05/2026 00:23

There was a lot online about it last year & Eurovision did pledge to crack down this year. It’s too late now but I’ll try and hunt some of the links out

They still do though, and the public and juries both do it.

Exactly. I read an interview with the Israeli singerin which he said a woman came up to him in Vienna and said "Don't let anyone make you believe you're not welcome here, because you are" and a lot of people voting are doing exactly the same.

Bluetakhi · 17/05/2026 00:24

Your proving my point it’s not about being anti Jewish or any religion, its about being human and understanding there should be no violence no matter what religion! I was brought up by parents who made me feel it didn’t matter who or what you where, you treated everyone with respect and no hatred that doesn’t seem to be the case now. I don’t believe in our progressive modern world there should be any wars but sadly not everyone sees that especially the people in power.

Cypire · 17/05/2026 00:24

Our score this year is painful

Humdingerydoo · 17/05/2026 00:25

So is the evidence the part in the article where they say

"The EBU said it had found no evidence of irregularities"?

Because it was awful and had fuzzy squares dancing.

RedToothBrush · 17/05/2026 00:26

Arena Sofia next year!

(It's the only place within Eurovision capacity big enough in Bulgaria)

This. People are voting for Israel because other people are making it political. They aren’t going to ban them.
