So finally the Megan/Will storyline is coming to an end! Sam is still not well though, poor lad...

Connor-Swain and Fit Kit are busy trying to find Theo's killer, and everyone Todd is close to is taking it in turns to babysit him!

Tim is trying to come to terms with the realisation that the thing he had with an older woman (Trisha) 40 years ago, (when he was 14) was actually abuse...

Shona's sister Jodie has managed to push herself into Daniel's house (and his life,) and seems to flit from place to place, with no actual luggage or money!

I know there's probably more... Smile

As an aside...I saw John Inman at a live comedy thing when I was 17. My aunt took me.
I remember watching the first series of Broadchurch which had assorted suspects for the murder...it was sorted in a few weeks. Dragging it on through 5 episodes a week for months is just dull now.
Costello should return and sort it. I ignored all the Costello stuff.

Summer's diary was only saying (very hammily) what all Todd's friends have been thinking for weeks. George of all people would realise that writing it down doesn't mean you did it.

I had been wondering when Sean changed from initially amusing and watchable to his current incarnation, and from watching Classic it seemed to happen during Violet's pregnancy, when he also started going out with MyMarcus. That was when he started with the overbearing overdramatics.

I think he got the part in Corrie after he his successful role in Queer As Folk as the character he played there was similar to the original Sean - camp but not cliched and forever hanging out in Canal Street.

He was a good actor but lazy scriptwriting has turned him into a joke.

They do it to too many characters, even a legend like Gail became more one dimensional as she grew older

AmusedMaker · 19/05/2026 13:37

Yes, Sean is a good actor. I remember his emotional scenes with his son ( Dillon? ) he was really good.
but for some reason the script writers put him straight back in the pantomime box.

Coronation street is going through a bit of a downer for me at the moment.
I don’t actually care who killed Theo, I still have no idea where the Jodie storyline is going, and find the hallucinating Sam a bit too weird. As for all the drama at the Rovers over Will, it’s just same scene different day.

Totally agree it’s like the writers are just looking to draw the storylines out as long as possible. I really don’t care who killed Theo or what Jodie is up to tho I’m thinking she’s gonna fleece Daniel 🤞 wipe the smug look off his face. What’s happened to Carl?? Is he still in hospital? Why did they bring Mel in was a stupid storyline? Where’s Bernie gone? Where’s Carla gone ? Where flamin Dave the dog gone ? can you tell I don’t really care !!

Edited to say …. Turns and flounces off !

Shellingbynight · 19/05/2026 13:57

@zanahoria yes Antony Cotton wasn't bad in QAF.

I like the fact that Jodie and Daniel are together at the moment because I find them both really objectionable and I can fast forward their scenes. I'm also fast forwarding Swain's investiation so I get through episodes quite quickly😆

the80sweregreat · 19/05/2026 13:58

The Jodie character is a mystery. Shona just kind of said ‘ ta ta’ and now she has Daniel doing her washing and manipulating him. We don’t know much about her background really. It is all a bit odd.

Lorrymum · 19/05/2026 14:11

Whatever happened to Shona and Jodie's Dad? He was in one episode, months ago, never to be seen or mentioned again.

Shellingbynight · 19/05/2026 14:33

There are so many loose ends.
Jodie's storyline is nothing but loose ends and I am willing to bet half of them won't be cleared up.

LesserSpottedCharacter · 19/05/2026 15:28

They'll be blowing in the wind like a footballer's scarf out the car window on the way to a match.

RockinCara · 19/05/2026 20:40

SabreIsMyFave · 19/05/2026 11:43

Yes, Sean is being a bit more camp than usual isn't he? As you say very like Larry Grayson/John Inman.

Has he ever not been camp?? I thought that was all he does.

RockinCara · 19/05/2026 20:52

This just popped up on Facebook…

I miss Craig. Top Copper. He deserved a promotion not a death.

SabreIsMyFave · 19/05/2026 21:13

'At least the test results are clear' said Ben. So when did these results come through then? Confused (The tests for the condition that Jim had?)

Who is putting the nasty troll messages online about Daniel? I wonder if it's Jodie!

Megan's out!

Maggie's grandsons know her secret!

WHY WAS SUMMER'S BROOCH AT THE MURDER SCENE? WHY IS SHE LYING ABOUT RUNNING FROM THEO AND TODD'S FLAT?

Yes I miss Craig Tinker - And Billy the Vicar. Didn't think I would!

Also agree that Sean used to be better. Even in Classic Corrie today he was endearing and funny. Now he's just (as someone said) like a panto character!

And yes, where is Carla, Bernie, and Carl?

So many loose ends. It was getting good for a few months leading up to Christmas and a few months after. It's gone weird now with too many storylines, and yes, too many loose ends!

RockinCara · 19/05/2026 21:15

It’s 100% Jodie posting the troll messages.

SabreIsMyFave · 19/05/2026 21:19

I think so too @RockinCara Trying to make Daniel all angsty and upset and bewildered, so she can 'comfort' him. Wink (And hopefully he will say 'oh pleeeeease stay Jodie.')

Shellingbynight · 19/05/2026 21:26

Kit has been seconded to Wales when he’s in the middle of a murder investigation? Only on Corrie.

And Ben got his test results off screen and mentioned it in passing.

They need to track down Megan’s other victims.

Jodie posting the messages had all the subtlety of a sledgehammer. She wants him to ‘need her’.

JewelleryCat · 19/05/2026 21:43

Has it been a year since Craig already? He didn’t deserve what happened to him

Empress13 · 20/05/2026 05:44

I find Carla and Swain’s relationship so weird. Carla talks to her like a child always trying to pacify her really strange pairing

waitresswalled · 20/05/2026 06:17

So summer was seen on the night of the murder but it was when she was going passed George’s house. Hardly seen coming from Theo and Todd’s flat though. She could have been at the shop, just crossed the road from the factory where the reception was etc.

I can’t stand the Jodie stuff. So pointless and no answers.

ithinkilikethislittlelife · 20/05/2026 07:44

Ugh. Last night all Jodie needed was a pantomime moustache to twiddle. Who even is she?? And why would people be apologising for Maggie who had not told the truth about Ben’s dad’s death? Particularly when she is so vile to people. Ridiculous. And I don’t know how true this is but I read once that there is a senior cast member who refuses to share a scene with the Sean character. My guess is David but who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

Andepeda · 20/05/2026 07:45

Ben's test results being casually dropped in was very odd indeed.

It was a really big deal a few weeks back, then totally forgotten about.

Shellingbynight · 20/05/2026 08:08

A few weeks ago the drama was "Jim McDonald's yer dad" so the hereditary disease was a big deal, but now the drama is "I might have killed yer other dad" so everyone's forgotten about Ben's tests.

I can't remember now if Ma definitely shoved Dad2 down the stairs, and I don't really care because it was 40 years ago and in a few weeks they will have moved on again.

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 20/05/2026 08:19

Carla and Lisa discussing the murder in the cafe where everyone can hear yeah right.

It really pissed me off what they did to Gail, she was always a strong, sharp woman and then they turned her into a dippy wee woman who was just there for comedy effect.

LesserSpottedCharacter · 20/05/2026 10:22

I missed that bit.

Urgh, the cafe, the different train picture, the pointlessness. The desperation.
