So finally the Megan/Will storyline is coming to an end! Sam is still not well though, poor lad...

Connor-Swain and Fit Kit are busy trying to find Theo's killer, and everyone Todd is close to is taking it in turns to babysit him!

Tim is trying to come to terms with the realisation that the thing he had with an older woman (Trisha) 40 years ago, (when he was 14) was actually abuse...

Shona's sister Jodie has managed to push herself into Daniel's house (and his life,) and seems to flit from place to place, with no actual luggage or money!

I know there's probably more... Smile

I thought tonight's episode was very boring.

the80sweregreat · 18/05/2026 21:40

Does Sally and Tim still have the fostered girls ? You never see them anymore.
The journal was silly and I suppose that Kit and Lisa will come round and notice all the debris on the fire pit and maybe a word and go ‘ ahh! ‘ as well as asking Summer about the brooch. I don’t think she did kill Theo though.

HaddyAbrams · 18/05/2026 21:41

Best thing about today's episode was Tim comparing Sally to a hotpot!

Or Glenda telling the story about doing a musical version of a Clockwork Orange on the Cruise ships. 😂Loved the way she kept adding in fresh info like it being on skates and during a storm.

Empress13 · 18/05/2026 21:50

Whoever wrote this ep tonight wanted to inject humour

the80sweregreat · 18/05/2026 21:55

Sean and the other bar maid ( don’t know her name) was funny. I felt oddly touched that Eva was willing to listen to Maggie , but Ben isn’t! He knows she is guilty I suppose.
Considering they are a couple , you rarely see them looking happy together or tactile. Have they been together long ?

the80sweregreat · 18/05/2026 21:55

Oh it’s Glenda ! Yes, she was funny today.

Empress13 · 18/05/2026 22:11

Can someone explain the brooch ? Must have missed that bit !

the80sweregreat · 18/05/2026 22:14

I assume that the police found Summer’s brooch in
the flat. I think ? They had a blown up photo of it on the wall.

RockinCara · 18/05/2026 22:36

Yes - and added to the fact that G&G found her diary with all the crap written in it, that she then burned (which they’re guaranteed to tell Kitt or someone), Summer is going to get locked up. Until the photo of Gary comes to light.

sorryIdidntmeanto · 18/05/2026 22:40

Lisa doing great policing again - smiling at photos while staring at the one thing they have been looking out for...
When did Cassie get so lairy?
I'm sure Summer already did the uni in the States thing. I agree she would never leave Todd right now. She needs him, too.

SabreIsMyFave · 18/05/2026 23:24

I enjoyed tonight's episode. Smile

Daniel washed and ironed all of Jodie's clothes? What clothes? She only seems to have the ones she stands up in... 😆

Quite a few funny lines tonight, like Glenda and Sean and their little double act talking about the Clockwork Orange on Stage when they were having their little chat whilst Maggie and Eva spoke. Sean did make me laugh when he said to Glenda 'I can't believe you're making me tell them about this' when he was about to tell Sally and Tim about Maggie 'murdering' her husband! 😆

The scene with Maggie and Eva was quite sweet. Eva is being very nice to her considering the nasty thing she did at the dinner table at Christmas!

I wonder if Summer will actually leave? Or will the police have her as a suspect in Theo's death, and take her passport away?!

Oh I'm surprised, no comments yet on today's episode?

I loved the pub scenes with Ma. Good humour and classic camp old Corrie (the writer was Jonathan Harvey, no surprises there).

Unfortunately he then had to cycle through the murder plot points with Summer's journal. Summer would really not write what looked like the angry journal of a 14 year old, she is studying an English Literature degree. I pity the writers having to include this stuff.

Still, half of it was good which is a result these days!

I can see why the American university want her.

They must have read the The Secret Diary of Summer Spellman, Aged 23 3/4

Freysimo · 19/05/2026 06:54

Summer just happened to leave her open bag containing a private diary at George's. George then happened to knock it off a chair and when he picked it up the diary just happened to fall open at an incriminating page which he proceeded to read. Very lazy writing.

I bloody love Glenda. She is a great character but Sean can do one. The high camp fast turn on a heel he does is like campy comedy from the 70s. Very Larry Grayson and it was old hat then.

Shellingbynight · 19/05/2026 08:02

@Freysimo yes that part was awful but it seemed like the writer knew it and was skimming over as fast and daftly as possible. I mean, what else can you do with this kind of terrible plot.

Shellingbynight · 19/05/2026 08:04

@SabreIsMyFave yes I liked the way Glenda and Sean worked together (even though I can't stand Sean).

I am not paying any attention to the detecting of the murder plot. It's going to go round in circles for weeks.

RockinCara · 19/05/2026 08:50

Maggie does a dreadful act of crying. Looked ridiculous.

the80sweregreat · 19/05/2026 09:37

I wondered if the photo of Gary will also be blown up , maybe by Carla who has disappeared now she is newly married. Summer is in the frame now.
Most people would have put the things in the bag straight away and not even opened up the journal.
It was a bit shabby how that was done, but I guess they have to ramp up the pace of suspects and a lot are going to be red herrings I guess.

AmusedMaker · 19/05/2026 10:17

Coronation street is going through a bit of a downer for me at the moment.
I don’t actually care who killed Theo, I still have no idea where the Jodie storyline is going, and find the hallucinating Sam a bit too weird. As for all the drama at the Rovers over Will, it’s just same scene different day.

Deadringer · 19/05/2026 10:44

I enjoyed the banter between Glenda and Shaun, the bit of humour is what drew me to Corrie in the first place. I agree that the diary was a silly and clumsy plot device, and I think it would have been more realistic if Christina was having a nosey in it, rather than George.

It was in the exact same spot where Julie's bag spilled open revealing all her drugs

Once they had done it they could at least have dragged it out a bit more and it would have been more interesting if she had written something more subtle than KILL THEO

Yes, Sean is being a bit more camp than usual isn't he? As you say very like Larry Grayson/John Inman.

Summer's diary was only saying (very hammily) what all Todd's friends have been thinking for weeks. George of all people would realise that writing it down doesn't mean you did it.

I had been wondering when Sean changed from initially amusing and watchable to his current incarnation, and from watching Classic it seemed to happen during Violet's pregnancy, when he also started going out with MyMarcus. That was when he started with the overbearing overdramatics.
