Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

One the family offered to let Josh stay with them - Dee I think. He has a mother who brought him up who he's close to, so I can see why he isn't bothered about Zoe. I am just baffled that Zoe isn't bothered about MySon either, but... plot reasons.

I agree Bea and Jasmine don't fit in. The only other character I can think of I felt that way about is Old Vicki. I loathed her and never thought she 'worked'. Oh - and New Michelle of course.

murasaki · 14/05/2026 13:00

When thinking of characters I'd like back, or so see more of, it's the older ones.

Shirley, Aunt Babe and Cora.

the80sweregreat · 14/05/2026 13:29

Aunt Babe was a bit like Eddie, well acted and credible.
As was the Carter’s dad as well ( can’t recall names)
Old school actors I suppose who know how to make you dislike them , but not by being too hammy.
When Babe cursed the Vic before she left it was very well done. That place is definitely cursed.
I guess you can either act well or you can’t.

murasaki · 14/05/2026 13:32

Wasn't Timothy West who was Mick's dad? A proper actor.

the80sweregreat · 14/05/2026 13:35

I put E’ Laine in the acts well category too. She can do vulnerable and emotional as well as brash and everyone’s friend fairly easily and can make her character sympathetic.
Oscar is good for a young one as he is a natural, but I can imagine he’ll move on.

Sheila Hancock is my favourite of the old school actors who’ve been in EE. She was in three episodes around 25 years ago, playing Steve Owen’s terrible mother.

I don’t remember Sheila Hancock in it, but she is another old school actress who embodies her character. Maybe they just taught them differently in the 60s! Not that EE is short of good ones currently like Dee and Phil and Linda.

murasaki · 14/05/2026 14:30

My favourite Linda story was that when Kellie Bright was given the alcoholism scripts, she shut herself in a caravan for the weekend and filmed herself getting absolutely shitfaced so she could see what she should look like drunk. Excellent method acting there.

the80sweregreat · 14/05/2026 14:31

Linda played a brilliant drunk.

I suspect it's all the rep stuff they did post drama school, each company would take two new ones a year. New play every fortnight or so. You do sometimes see older actors talking about it and how it's a shame it doesn't happen any more. There's apparently only one rep company in the whole country now.

Eastie77Returns · 14/05/2026 15:26

I remember the Sheila Hancock episodes. She was extremely sinister even though she was on her deathbed and it was alluded to that she sexually abused her own son, Steve Owen. George's dad is a brilliant actor - he is so believeably evil. They've had some good old school actors over the years. Billy and Teddy's dad was very authentically East End.

Agree with all the comments about awful Jasmine. One aspect that has been overlooked is her mother, the one who adopted her after Josh's mum sent her away. She is not mentioned at all which is so bizarre. Zoe has no interest in meeting the woman who raised Mydorter? The mum told Lauren and Cindy that Jasmine was very dangerous and there was an issue with her dad but it's now all brushed over. Perhaps Jasmine has killed all three of her dads!

Shellingbynight · 14/05/2026 15:41

@Eastie77Returns Zoe seems to have no interest in MyDorter or MySon any more, let alone their adoptive mothers! She barely glances at Jasmine, and Josh may as well have gone to Southend for all the interest she takes.

Purplepelican6 · 14/05/2026 16:05

Yes ..what was the point in Lauren and Cindy meeting Jasmines mum ,to then not take it any further
Was there a producer change around that time ,as so many things don't add up

Purplepelican6 · 14/05/2026 16:06

Max has fitted in line he's never been away ..him and Cindy go great together, both as unhinged as each other ..

Purplepelican6 · 14/05/2026 16:07

Like not line

the80sweregreat · 14/05/2026 16:08

I feel that the Truman’s have frozen out Zoe and Jasmine, but they can’t stop Zoe from trying to have a relationship with them and she hasn’t really tried that hard. She did a bit with Josh at first , but he made it clear he wasn’t that interested, so she gave up. She lives with Jasmine now , but they are more like house sharers in a very busy HMO than mother and daughter.
Jas probably feels bad that she thought she had died initially as well! Not that any of this has been addressed properly ( because it’s EE )

the80sweregreat · 14/05/2026 16:10

Jasmines mum told Lauren and Cindy she was dangerous. That may be significant at a later date , but for now she’s too busy being annoying and leading Oscar astray !

They are great together. I can't think of a pair who deserve each other more than these two demented, cheating liars!

the80sweregreat · 14/05/2026 16:12

Max is another good actor and he has had a new lease of life now his back. He is another one who makes his seedy character believable and can also be funny and good with Cindy.

Shellingbynight · 14/05/2026 16:13

80s I agree I think it will be significant, Jasmine is going to turn really nasty when she finds out and Oscar and Josh.

But as you say there is so much that hasn't been addressed with Zoe.

Yes, they are a great example of the saying that at least they are making 2 people unhappy not 4.

Housesharers in a busy HMO is so true! They are basically housemates. There is no growing bond between them, no scenes showing them talking about the lost years, Zoe showing her pictures of the family etc. It's so weird. All we've had is Mo saying you can call me Nan now. Jasmine may as well be a guest lodger.

the80sweregreat · 14/05/2026 17:12

So cringy today with the Christmas song( although that may also be significant later on too , who knows?)
Who is going to use all that fertilizer for the allotment ? They only ever show them drinking there not nurturing the tomatoes.
I did wonder if Eddie knows Gemma as Nicola mentioned sisters today ( I thought she only had one)
She used the plural? He seemed very interested in her background. I bet he knew or knows her family and stitching her up. Only a guess though.
Bea is now sleeping in the chicken shop and that lovely old Cosworth is no more :( nice car as well.
They both looked like the traitors today.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/05/2026 21:24

Whoah Whoah Whoah
That Mark set fire to a Sierra Cosworth that is my dream car ( I constantly covet the ex Police motors wuth ABS ) but it would be totally wasted on me , I cannot drive anything that big .
I just searched up the price of one (Cosworth RS) on AutoTrader and I had to sit down !
Lauren better hope the insurance coughs up, her punter is going to be mightily pissed off !

Meredusoleil · 14/05/2026 21:28

How is the insurance going to pay out for that when it's obviously going to look like arson (which it actually was)?!?
