Yah. It’s back. I loved s1 and the Xmas special (tho many didn’t) but it ticked all the right buts with me

I know Many will binge as all will be on iPlayer - so as usual this is the weekly paced thread and no spoilers please 🥰

a week and a day to go

1st episode not as good as series 1 but I still enjoyed it. I loved Amandaland just as much as motherland. Amanda turning into a bit of a David Brent parody though!

A review likened her to Partridge. I love Partridge so I’m happy with that.
plus Johannes was also in partridge so it’s a fitting tribute.
i binged all of series two today and thoroughly enjoyed it.
more gentle than series one in some ways and I hope that’s not a spoiler but it kept me happy

I thought the first episode was very funny with the careers talks. However, the pendant in me got very annoyed. Those teachers weren't wearing lanyards with photo ID. I'm probably in the minority, but if you're making a programme and want to make it plausible, get the basics right.
Sorry. It did make me laugh, though, and I like Abs.

Im loving it. Humours an odd thing the way some don’t go for it. I also like ‘only child’ also on bbc which others find dire!

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/05/2026 13:03

Yes I liked that as well. Enjoyed s1 but many didn’t so I didn’t bother with a thread @lazymum99

I have to say Amandaland has grown on me.
Motherland was great and I did not rate Series 1 of Amandaland.
However, I enjoyed the Christmas special and Series 2.
Watched Ep 3- 6 this afternoon and now wonder what could happen in the next series!
Guess it takes time to get used to the various characters and their lives.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/05/2026 19:56

I like her. And the little jokes that sure go over many people’s heads

they did in the Xmas one

400 quid, though! That's life in London! 😁

BakeOffRewatch · 20/05/2026 23:08

I laughed a lot at episode 3

HoraceCope · 21/05/2026 05:26

Joanna Lumley is a great addition

icannotlivelaughloveintheseconditions · 26/05/2026 15:36

I’ve just finished s2. I loved motherland but wasn’t that impressed with s1 of Amandaland although the Christmas special was good. I think this series is much better, Anne is hilarious.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/05/2026 15:47

E4 tonight

Maybe it's just me, but reading the brief preview on the screen in front of me (only two sentences), and it put me right off. I'm sure there'll be some jokes in there, but Amanda is so awful.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/06/2026 14:35

What did the preview say ? Can’t rem now as was last week

Basically, Amanda ingratiates herself with some neighbour old lady cos she fancies her house. Have you watched it?

VivienneDelacroix · 01/06/2026 15:19

I find this programme so hard to watch. (Although I do watch it, as the other characters are brilliant). I know it's not real, but I can't see how anyone would put up with her - most sitcoms have an aspect of things being funny because they're so true, but Amanda is so awful in every way that no one would be friends with her (apart from perhaps other people like her). The fact she has lovely people like Mal helping her out repeatedly annoys me so much.

Increasingly, that's where I am. And what I meant by my post up-thread. Amanda is appalling, and doesn't even have any redeeming features AFAICS.
