The whole idea that any input from Chelsea would be relevant is so far fetched. You are supposed to drive with due care and attention because hazards could exist. There is no part in the law that changes that based on the reason a child is in the road. It’s utterly batshit that court would apply a different sentence because Jordan was shouted at.

But he must get out /not do 8mths due to NYD

there is no way he and Gray would be mixing in a prison
but I agree all sympathy lost for the way he grassed Chelsea up

To be honest I think I might have grassed Chelsea up if it stopped me being beaten up by a bunch of prisoners.😄

During my ( many ) driving lessons , the instructor always mentioned looking out for small children , using mirrors. It was a long time ago, but I can remember it all.
However, Ian didn’t see him as he was behind a bin. I’m not condoning his actions at all. The car couldnt have had sensors , or he didn’t hear them or thought it was because of the bin in the way or something like that. the radio was up too high.
His doing his time for it , but it is something that could happen to anyone ( maybe not the drinking part!)
Drinking one pint on an empty stomach, bad idea too.
Kathy is also to blame too. No wonder she feels guilty as well :(
