This is back for another series, starting Thursday.

I just googled very quickly and they set off from Sicily and end the race in northern Mongolia - sounds interesting.

I don't know anything else about it at this point, but thought that we should have a thread ready and waiting.

Hello, I have always followed these threads, but never really contributed. Not sure if I will be able to keep up with you all in 'live time'. Loving the route and feel hopeful and happy with all the pairings so far. I fell in love with this programme from series one and I am hoping this will be a bit of a return to the first few series. I think the budget and route will mean we will see more variety budget challenges, which always makes it more interesting to watch🤞

I like how the checkpoint looks pretty and in typical RATW style ooohhh I want to go there, but it’s short haul so actually possible and realistic to go there

Margot's voice is giving me definite Hyacinth Bucket vibes.

This route looks amazing. Similar to series 1. No-one annoying so far.

Love all the pairs, let’s hope they’ve learnt from the last civilian series and we don’t get too much backstory nonsense

So Margo and the chap that was her BIL. Are they a couple or just now good friends at the wish of Margo’s departed sister?

Checking in. I’m a wee bit behind.
The two scouse lads seem very sweet but rather wet behind the ears.
I think the father and daughter team will do well.
The brother and sister in law will be the first the out I think.

A quick google suggests they’re in-laws, but that wasn’t clear from their video clip.

@Silverbirchleaf. Thank you. Someone locally let off a firework so the dog is now hiding and my calm evening somewhat disrupted. Hopefully that was it and eventually she will come out from hiding in the downstairs loo. The families they are meeting is lovely. Just feels warmer and just more normal than the last series.

I’m warming to the two lads. They remind of the two who won a couple of years ago. They will be the couple which lose the map but will learn a lot and gain so much life skills/ experience

And what a lovely lad helping them out like that.

I know this is a race, but it is fabulous to see that everyone also wants to enjoy and embrace the experience. I am liking everyone so far. They obviously all have a back story, and that is fine. I think we are all hoping they do not focus so heavily on that this year and concentrate on the actual race and how couples interact and deal with the challenge. This is what they did in the first two series and the balance was just right.
