Hooray!

This is back for another series, starting Thursday.

I just googled very quickly and they set off from Sicily and end the race in northern Mongolia - sounds interesting.

I don't know anything else about it at this point, but thought that we should have a thread ready and waiting.

Watching on catch up. Have loved this leg and the people seem lovely. I often wonder how much help if any the teams get from production. Have to say Margo is growing on me! All the teams seem nice genuine people

Brilliant episodenin the best series yet. Thank you RATW for reading last year’s MN thread and taking note 🤣🤣

ListenToAlfDubs · 30/04/2026 22:05

Also loving this series. Amazing locations and they've really cut the endless backstories.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 30/04/2026 22:14

That was a great episode interesting facial features but lovely people

Aslockton · 30/04/2026 22:14

I have just watched 'The Detour' spin off show. Margo is going to be on top-party form in next week's episode too!

MrsLargeEmbodied · 30/04/2026 22:14

So happy for Katie and Harrison

MrsLargeEmbodied · 30/04/2026 22:15

I want to go travelling with Margo

With a few exceptions, last series was slated all round for its excessive sob story element. 😁

BotterMon · 30/04/2026 22:26

Margo needs her own travel show! She's a hoot.

bert3400 · 01/05/2026 00:36

The two young friends are so lovely, very tearful watching last night's episode when Kush was talking about his Stepdad. I lost my amazing SD 2 years ago and Step Parents can be an absolute game changer for kids, I know mine was. Lovely boys and I really want them to win .

RaraRachael · 01/05/2026 06:14

We're getting just enough of a back story this series which is so much better than last series constantly revisiting.

I don't really mind who wins.

HollyhockDays · 01/05/2026 07:20

Everywhere looked amazing g last night. I’d love to visit those places! I’d love Katie and Harrison to win. But all the pairs are really lovely. Brought back sorry to get to know them but not endless.

Exactly, they clearly read it and took note and didn't repeat that error.

Dandeliontea123 · 01/05/2026 11:11

What a great episode. It was interesting to see that the interior design was so ornate compared to the plain steppe landscape. And I appreciated seeing the contestants being resilient and authentic, and enjoying themselves without arguing. More please!

greyweek · 01/05/2026 11:37

So Kush is the second contestant who lost someone during covid. It was an odd time for most of us but for many it was actually horrendous.

greyweek · 01/05/2026 11:39

I can’t imagine ever travelling to Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan (expense-wise wouldn't be a priority) but really enjoyed watching and getting some idea of what it’s like.

me too. It was probably deliberate but at the beginning they were made out to be hopeless and with little chance.
I like all of them tbh, though I think the Northern Irish pair are getting less airtime than the others, possibly because they're a bit less interesting.

purpleme12 · 01/05/2026 11:51

I didn't get the impression that they were hopeless and had little chance at the beginning

They are all so likeable in this series. It is difficult to pick a favourite to win.

RaraRachael · 01/05/2026 12:49

In every series so far there has been somebody I didn't warm to but not this time

MrsWhites · 01/05/2026 13:20

I don’t think the boys came across as hopeless at the beginning either, considering they are both teenagers I think they have come across as very impressive right from the off.

They have coped brilliantly with different cultures and despite the overspend a few weeks ago they seem to be clawing it back now as other teams spent a lot in this leg too. I think when budgets are revealed, they will be closer than we think.

They have always been my favourites.

They have always been my favourites.

I love them, they bring out my inner-mother. I’d like to give them a fiver for some sweets.

purpleme12 · 01/05/2026 14:05

Totally agree. I love them all. I'll be happy whoever wins.

(Desperate to visit Istanbul and Tblisi now.)
