I haven't watched loads of seasons @EachandEveryone. Obviously if one of then write leave and one of them writes stay at the commitment ceremony, they have to stay and try for another week - so in that instance, you might have someone who is adamant that it's not working for them, being pressured to keep trying (as in Luke and Melf)

Last year one of the contestants 'returned' with a new partner (Elliot). His old partner was still in it but there didn't stand a chance so they re-coupled him (with another lunatic unfortunately).

I have also seen someone leave because the experts realised they were a bully and still seeing their ex so got rid. In that instance his partner had to leave as well. They didn't find her a new match.

This is my first time watching from the beginning. Can someone tell me what happens when one of them
is adamant they can’t be with them very early on? Do they find new partners for them or do they have to let them both go?

Depends if it’s at the commitment ceremony I think, if one person votes leave and the other stay then they stay for another week to try to work things out. I’m sure either person could walk away but producers probably desperate to try to make them stay.

F-me! Just catching up….the whole Rachel and Fix It Felix, who the hell carries on like that ?
The cards and the sterile, kiss me now malarkey, things don’t work like that ….jesus christ, go out, have some beers and a laugh!

…and the Gia and Scott performance….well he’s hardly a tough nut to crack, he’d be like my Labrador humping his bed!

I don't think Steven was unkind to Rachel. He doesn't fancy her and what she was asking for was not 'just a kiss' - it was a physical confirmation of this romantic or sexual feelings towards her.

If he had 'just kissed her' - she would have read into that things that weren't there and it would have come back to bite them both down the line.

Agreed

Agreed too. I think he may have fancied her at the start but has been put off by her behaviour. He’s done some nice things though like buying that fish.

Also agree, he was being honest albeit awkwardly honest. I feel for Rachel, but he’s not the one for you lady!

As a 53 yr old, I cannot compute that Fox is my age. He looks at least 60. Everything about him is much older - physique, how he carries himself etc.

I agree. He didn’t have to be honest and I feel it took a lot for him to say this as he knows Rachel likes him a lot.

I do think he’s inexperienced dating wise, possibly to do with his weight in the past so lack of confidence, I don’t think he’s a virgin though nor gay.

I’m 54 and agree he looks and acts a lot older than 50!

I briefly dated a guy who was 60 (but looked and acted much younger).

I feel sorry for BoatBoy (Steven). Rachel is very needy - remember her at the Hen night with the over emphasis on previous relationships being situationships (I had to go back and look at the term she used at the Hens night - several times to different women). If that were a Groom with cards telling a Bride to "kiss me now, the kind of kiss that makes me feel something" I think we'd all be getting the major icks. He doesn't fancy her - nothing wrong in that, in the piss-poor "Grade Your Partners" tasks Rachel was last, or second from last, for all of the other Grooms. I've had relationships with guys I've not fancied from the off but getting to know them, their personality won over. That BoatBoy keeps referring to Rachel as "his biggest fan" makes me think she's trying too hard.

BippidyBoppety · 25/03/2026 11:06

Also, Penis Nose - hadn't seen it before but it hit me between the eyes last night. Holy Cow! Playboy costume because she'd been to the Playboy Mansion, natch.

ExtraPaddingForFallingOver · 25/03/2026 11:12

I did have to do a double take at Brook’s dead dog painting ….the ‘football’ looked like an inflamed, sewn up lady part, by his head (sorry for the visuals) and she gave him demon eyes 👀

PinterandPirandello · 25/03/2026 11:12

Thanks @Appaloniafor the link.

Yeah - whether we like it or not, Rachel is clearly not considered as attractive as most of the other girls. Whether that is because she is not as slim or whether it's because her neediness shines through, I don't know. But I believe Steven is a fairly kind person and had to really work hard to strike the balance between honesty and kindness. Either way he is was either misleading her or letting her down - neither of which would have felt good.

I'm reminded of Katie from last season, and it's a shame that both times there have been a curvier girl, they've come with so much self-doubt and neediness. It would be good to have someone who doesn't conform to the boring beauty standards and is GENUINELY ok with it. Otherwise it all becomes a bit desperate and awkward.

Ophir · 25/03/2026 11:23

Yes. Rachel needs a big cuddly manly man to make her feel feminine and looked after. Someone confident.

Which Steven is not, confident! Or at least he doesn’t come across as that. I could see him with Mel actually - though she wouldn’t like him!

So shocked about what Steven said. Wow did not see that coming at all. Poor Rachel I hope its her that leaves

Brook said she’s a girls girl. No way would she be friends with a ‘ fat girl’.

Girls girl my arse. Only exception would be the Gia types..

Shes probably also envious that she’s paired with Chris who’s a dud.

I've noticed that any woman who claims to be a girls' girl and/or invokes "girl code", is always a massive bully. See also Holly form mafs UK.
I even felt it when Brook was posturing about Chris's audition tape- "fatgate", if you will- I didn't buy her reaction.
She just loves to virtue signal and bully at the same time- which is how these people operate.

I wasn’t shocked as it was clear he wasn’t into her romantically. I think he does like her a lot, it’s probably a long time since he had any attention and he appreciates the support she’s shown. But there’s no romance or stirring of loins!
It’s a shame, for both of them.

MargoLivebetter · 25/03/2026 12:10

After much mulling, I'm going to lay down my prediction for who stomps off tonight. I think they did so much scene setting with Charisma last night (having not really focused that much on her before) that it will be her storming off tonight. I'm kind of hoping it will be, because her word salad of "right on" psychobabble phrases and mindgasms really irritates me!

Can the producers not find a man who prefers a curvier woman? There are plenty of men who do (obviously I don't mean any sleazy fetishists).

To be fair, he was very blunt with her and she may not have been expecting that, or for his words to hit her as hard as they did.
