How old is Emma meant to be in 1970? She was married with kids during the 1st world war so must have been 90?

If you were 20 in 1914, you would be 94 in 1970. That’s what I couldn’t get my head around, it doesn’t make sense.

Did we ever have a date or could it be 2nd ww or those dates wouldn’t work out either

So the dad saves Edwin and then the family don’t even get their doctor to look after him or give him a bed to recover in their house

she was supposed to have been 16 in 1905 at the start of the book, and would have been 25 when the war started, and 80 in 1969.

Now seen older version episode and still on same Storyline tho seems Mac has a gf

I think the date on the grave of her mother was 1911 so this is when Emma was around 16-18 perhaps but I know what you mean

I think they’ve got a nerve to give the remake the same name. It is so far removed from the book and the original series and not to mention woke! Very disappointed!
