It has been confirmed that the first episode of The Capture (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/the-capture-season-3-trailer-newsupdate/) season 3 will launch on BBC iPlayer at 6am on Sunday 8 March, before airing on BBC One at 9pm that evening.

Rather than all the episodes being made available at once on iPlayer, each new instalment will then arrive weekly on Sundays - meaning the finale is expected to air on Sunday 12 April.

Holliday Grainger returns as Rachel Carey in the third season of BBC thriller The Capture (https://www.playpilot.com/show/the-capture-2019), with Rachel now dealing with a "brutal" act of terror and a high-stakes geopolitical crisis.

Season 3 also stars Tessa Wong as DC Chloe Tan, Lia Williams as Gemma Garland, Ginny Holder as DI Nadia Latif, Nigel Lindsay as DCI Tom Kendricks, Daisy Waterstone as Abigail.

Rounding out the cast for this season are Hugh Quarshie as Commissioner Cameron Yates, plus Broadchurch's Andrew Buchan, Game of Thrones' Joe Dempsie, Kaos star Killian Scott, and Good Omens' Jonathan Aris.

As Isaac suggests hiring Rachel as Commander of CTD is the best way for the department to "clean up its act", she's confident that the newly rolled-out Operation Veritas, a surveillance system aimed to detect deepfakes in real time, will restore public trust in the institutions.

After a shooting takes place in central London, Rachel realises she's the only one who's seen the attacker. When footage of the incident is released, she is stunned when she doesn't recognise the man, realising the video has been altered with Correction, the covert manipulation programme uncovered in previous seasons.

But the shooting derails the plan, with Rachel desperate to find out the truth and who's behind the attack.

That episode did make more sense finally. The main message is Correction and Simon AI are useful for covert operations but horribly open to abuse at the level of general society. So which does the nation decide is the priority? Protect British interests on the international stage against enemies that don't play by the rules, or protect individual citizens from exploitation?

I think I know what’s going on, but I’ll be thoroughly effed off if it turns out that Noah/Will’s story as he told to Rachel is not true.

The viewer needs to have some real, concrete details and an indication that that is what they are. Otherwise, it takes me back to, “it was all a dream” stuff. Could just have 5 episodes of absolute bollox, then create an entirely new premise in the last episode. Nah.

They were trying to persuade him that correction was a good idea and that they had ops running that were using it but he wasn’t having any of it. Hence he had to go.

So… have I got this right? Rachel and Noah-Will have emerged to a horrified gathering of basically all the main cast who haven’t yet been shot, but instead of her looking like a hero, he’s made it look as if she’s shot him, and he’s dying as a result?

I have slightly more of an idea about what's going on now but all bets still off for the finale. Just about anything could happen!

I was also really distracted by the doctor as he bore an astonishing resemblance to Princess Anne.

I thought exactly the same @KillingMeDeftlyre the doctor and Princess Anne. It was uncanny.

They are doing well for random likenesses this series, what with Princess Anne and the Captain from Ghosts!

Well, as they came out of that door, she said vulnerable suspect and its ok, he is with me, before he gave a ridiculous smile. Either hes decieved us all and he really is Simon or something else. ....... dun dun dun.....

I think it was the communal horror reflected on their faces - like, What have you done, Rachel? And the hole in his chest. It felt to me as if they’d been told to expect something - which they then saw, instead of what Rachel was actually showing them.

but then, as I say, I’d been squeamishly double-screening during the scenes of torture/device insertion/device removal/gun battles, etc, so I had quite a lot of blanks to fill.

WHAAAAAAT. I get that the plot is ludicrous but the script and acting are getting worse every episode! Rachel trying to arrest Noah in the tunnel...honestly. The doc (ugh) deactivating Noah's heart thing - that whole scene felt like a sixth-former had written it! And Noah's acting is unbelievably wooden, I honestly don't understand it. Gemma and Danny and their hammy eyebrow acting. The only people acting vaguely human are Tom and Whitlock (the latter like a conspiracy theorist human but still).

Yep we also also saw the striking Princess Anne likeness , couldn’t take that character seriously at all.

I know Killian Scott is Irish but I don't think I've ever seen him in anything where he's used his real accent. His name is actually Cillian Murphy but he changed it for obvious reasons!
