It has been confirmed that the first episode of The Capture (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/the-capture-season-3-trailer-newsupdate/) season 3 will launch on BBC iPlayer at 6am on Sunday 8 March, before airing on BBC One at 9pm that evening.

Rather than all the episodes being made available at once on iPlayer, each new instalment will then arrive weekly on Sundays - meaning the finale is expected to air on Sunday 12 April.

😛😛😛😛 to you bingers - this is how good tv should be shown

The weekly anticipation like Line of duty and Happy Valley was

Blondes does happy dance as means hopefully be no spoilers - wouldn’t that be nice for once !! 😀😀😀😀

Holliday Grainger returns as Rachel Carey in the third season of BBC thriller The Capture (https://www.playpilot.com/show/the-capture-2019), with Rachel now dealing with a "brutal" act of terror and a high-stakes geopolitical crisis.

As seen in an adrenaline-filled extended trailer (https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/a70218127/the-capture-season-3-trailer/), season 3 sees Rachel at the helm of the Counter Terrorism Command as Acting Commander.

other stars joining Carey for round three of The Capture (https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/a69948383/the-capture-season-3-first-look/), including Game of Thrones' Indira Varma as Khadija Khan and Paapa Essiedu as MP Isaac Turner.

Season 3 also stars Tessa Wong as DC Chloe Tan, Lia Williams as Gemma Garland, Ginny Holder as DI Nadia Latif, Nigel Lindsay as DCI Tom Kendricks, Daisy Waterstone as Abigail.

Rounding out the cast for this season are Hugh Quarshie as Commissioner Cameron Yates, plus Broadchurch's Andrew Buchan, Game of Thrones' Joe Dempsie, Kaos star Killian Scott, and Good Omens' Jonathan Aris.

As Isaac suggests hiring Rachel as Commander of CTD is the best way for the department to "clean up its act", she's confident that the newly rolled-out Operation Veritas, a surveillance system aimed to detect deepfakes in real time, will restore public trust in the institutions.

After a shooting takes place in central London, Rachel realises she's the only one who's seen the attacker. When footage of the incident is released, she is stunned when she doesn't recognise the man, realising the video has been altered with Correction, the covert manipulation programme uncovered in previous seasons.

But the shooting derails the plan, with Rachel desperate to find out the truth and who's behind the attack.

Sometimes script writers are just that little bit too clever.

Smidge001 · 02/04/2026 22:14

I'm so disappointed at how unbelieveable this series has become. The first 2 were masterpieces. This is just ridiculous.

So presumably Noah originally signed up to test out this crazy heart implant / drugs or whatever that are meant to make him completely imperveous to torture. So that he could be the best ever army dude. And presumably they needed Isaac to die to keep the funding going or something, so he did it for them in blind faith, knowing that the capture program could 'prove' it was the other people smuggling killer dude instead. Meanwhile he's put in as the new boss so he could stop Carey from suspecting anything else. (Though surely it would have been easier to kill her too).

But then after the heart being turned off he realised the bionic treatment is being used for harm not good. So is having to pretend to still be on the baddies side, while secretly wanting to join up with Carey to uncover the whole thing together.

Maybe.

And wizard is somehow involved, but i cant work out if he's a spy for the bad or the good version of Noah.

It's all ridiculous though and they should have stuck with series 1 and 2.

I've given up on it, going to watch Grace instead.

Oh I thought it finally started to make sense!

lazymum99 · 05/04/2026 22:03

I trust everyone has watched it now. I actually found that whole episode a bit tedious. Not nearly as good as the previous 2 series.
so Simon is like Hal from Space Odyssey. Not exactly a new concept!
And now the 2 of them have to take down that army unit who are operating using whatever the AI comes up with.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2026 22:10

Ok. Made sense to me

So Noah is actually will and due to Isaac calling out deep fake , the camera stopped the fake of the hostage of the family - during the mission and 22 people got killed - including the sister who stared into his eyes like Rachel

and why she didn’t get killed

was that Isaac in the picture on the wall in the office

well done who called simon as ai

issac had to be killed due to him saying he would stop deep fake

tom can’t be the dodgy one. Assume it’s the female Assistant who is having therapy and said she was making a documentary who has fiddled the Cary cam and made it 24hrs wrong

sneaky how they kept will in the mission by showing him how he would be without the implant and rendering him useless

what I don’t get is why instead of sending all these men to try and kill him , why they just don’t pull the plug on his monitor like they did before

still not sure what side wizard is on and th lies of the tablets /texts that got Sent to Noah

An how this will end

Yes made sense to me as well

but I find I do actually have to watch it and not fiddle on my phone 😂

I'm sorry but this has completely jumped the shark. It has a great cast, but the plot is just so stupid

ImportantMermaid · 05/04/2026 22:21

I'm really not helped by the fact that extreme squeamishness means I only have eyes on screen for about 45% of this. So GOD KNOWS WHAT'S GOING ON.

Fogandfern · 05/04/2026 22:24

Yes I was wondering the same why they don’t just deactivate him? I find Rachel irritating, and wonder if she’s meant to be perceived this way. Trying to arrest him and then walking him with the gun after he’d single handed killed about ten of Franks men unarmed. Throughout she’s not been very likeable but it’s been so long I can’t remember if it was the same in series 1 and 2.

MajesticWhine · 05/04/2026 22:27

I thought tonight’s episode was good and things are finally making a bit of sense.
(My mother called me for a chat about 2 minutes before the endHmm). Yeah they are making you think Tom is the insider but the therapy girl seems dodgy.

MajesticWhine · 05/04/2026 22:30

Re deactivating him, I’m not sure but maybe that’s why he went underground.

purpleme12 · 05/04/2026 23:03

I'm 8 minutes in and I didn't know what that scene was about with the three men and Isaac at the beginning

Oh so no signal like her phone didn’t have any then pops up by lift

tho surely something as sophisticated as the implant surely doesn’t need signal /wifi etc to be able to disconnect

Ok I get it now

Wingedharpy · 06/04/2026 00:38

Is Simon the computer programme?

purpleme12 · 06/04/2026 00:39

Yes, AI

I don’t even know what scene? And im sure I was paying attention.

Judgejudysno1fan · 06/04/2026 08:00

I have no clue why he did that evil smile at the end. Maybe another twist in the final episode. Maybe the whole thing he just made up about the hostages/ukraine/implant. Maybe he really is Simon all along.

Judgejudysno1fan · 06/04/2026 08:03

Also, did anyone pick up that he said something about kendricks back at the police station, whose also a very good character being dodgy?
And what was the point in White Rabbit pretending to be sheep grandpa to go somewhereto get whitlocks files? The whole episode was a bit strange. And we dont know if wizard is good or bad, what does thyroid stand for and will Will/Noah turn out to be good/bad/Simon all along? He said that Isaac was going to kill him first but I didnt see anything motioning that other than he was going to expose/stop all deepfake and Correction......ahhh

deeahgwitch · 06/04/2026 08:08

It was a bit daft, Rachel singlehandedly “arresting” him, keeping him “contained” with a handgun when he had killed Frank and how many others despite being unarmed @Fogandfern
One really has to suspend disbelief.

Yes I'm still not sure if we should trust him
