Same. They're fab. I know less about Peter but Deborah is really very genuinely principled and doing all she can to do good. I used to like Stephen too but he's got a touch of the Andrew Tates about him recently.

A touch of the Andrew Tates? Oh no, what's he said/done?

notasadvertised · 21/02/2026 19:06

Oooh yes about Stephen....podcast called him out on a few things the other week and omg they got so much hate from the bro clan 😂

Hes talked about a model where lonely men should have access to women to prevent them becoming resentful and incels.

I'm really glad to not exploit people. It really wouldn't sit easy with me to get rich on the back of thousands of womens financial loss. No matter which way you carve it up, MLMs are exploitative.

If they are making money from her idea, how are they being exploited?
She has given them an.oportunity?

Ebok1990 · 21/02/2026 22:17

I'm not making it up to be obtuse. You probably need to read up about MLMs to disavail yourself of the notion that people make money out of them or that they're an ethical model.

An amazing opportunity. To spend money they don’t have to be “business owners”. To be living my best life hun, workin while kids are in soft play #makingmemories#thanksytopic#mumshelgmum

Lots of people are happy she's given them a chance to make money.
Are you just annoyed your not her.
70 or 80 million not bad eh.

People only make money by taking it off people below them in the pyramid, so the more it grows the fewer people make money,. On the other hand, the poor sods are encouraged to keep posting total lies about how much they are making so as to suck more in - it's hilarious how exactly the same luxury holiday pictures keep popping up on everyone's social media.

IdentityCris · 22/02/2026 04:51

I always feel Stephen is a bit of a one-trick pony. He's only ever of use to someone if they have a specific need for input with social media and online selling. However, there are an awful lot of people around with that sort of expertise, so generally speaking entrepreneurs are better off with someone like Peter who has more all-round expertise and who already has social media bods on his staff or his contact list.

Sweetiedarling7 · 22/02/2026 07:43

I can’t stand Stephen. So pleased with himself and thick enough to belief in whatever latest “wellness” crap.
He is all fur coat and no knickers.

Your either jealous, or you've had a bad experience with the products/selling.

Not much point in a tit for tat exchange so I won't return to comment again.

However he's richer than you and has done well for himself in his business, and investing and helping others.

If you happened to have a business idea and he offered to invest and help you become rich and successful.. I am sure you would not turn it down.

I can guarantee you I m not jealous. I take it you have drank the cool aid.

Costacoffeeplease · 22/02/2026 12:59

I would def turn Steven down.

YouOKHun · 22/02/2026 13:37

Stephen actually had to have the problem of MLM explained to him a while back when he appeared to endorse Arbonne. To be fair he realised once it was explained but he’s very vulnerable to the scammy wellness grift as others have said. He doesn’t seem as sharp as the others though obviously he has his talents.

@Netcurtainnelly can’t you raise your game? Let’s hear your proper defence of the MLM business model. Not just some silly “your (sic) jealous”.

Tell me which “direct selling” company you are involved with. Genuinely interested to hear how much money your “business” makes. You never know you might be able to recruit me

MyBadday · 11/03/2026 15:13

I see they have invited Susie Ma back on. I’m so annoyed i have actually emailed the bbc to complain.

YouOKHun · 11/03/2026 16:35

Yes @MyBaddayits very irritating. I want to refer the BBC to their own documentary about predatory MLMs (The Secrets of the Multilevel Millionaires, on iplayer).

Susie Ma makes strenuous efforts to say Tropic is not MLM and it’s different but I can’t see any real difference, my FB profile gets quite a few recruitment approaches from Tropic just like other MLMs and it’s clear there is advantage to creating a team.

I find SM’s assertion that the “social selling” model had to be used because the products are so fresh they don’t have the shelf life for normal retail channels a bit of a stretch given other skincare brands of a similar ethos and price haven’t resorted to MLM. Of course, no income disclosure as it’s not required in the UK. The only numbers that make it into the public domain are the positive highlights such as, “some Tropic people report selling £2000 in their first month”. Naturally we don’t get to find out if that continues in the following months and what proportion achieve that (or 25/35% of that actually paid to them pre tax and expenses), but it’s likely to attract people who need to earn and are reassured by possibility rather than probability. They can’t all be people simply signing up for a discount, many of them are aiming to make a living out of it or a substantial side hustle, both of which are very tricky if you’re just selling direct to friends and family (who may boost the first month through loyalty purchases but baulk at spending more in month two or three). Not a great addition to DD.

Why, give her a break. She's not done anything wrong
If I had to complain I'd say why have Deborah and Peter been on it from day one.
Move over now, give someone else a chance.
The amount they must have made on the back of other people.

Are you a tropic ambassador? It’s a predatory business model. It’s designed to take advantage of people. If the products are good enough sell them in the shops.
