Because I’m obsessed I spent some time today looking at earning potential for breakout actors in Hollywood. So interesting. Agents and managers can take up to 50% of earnings. The strategy is usually to build recognition so moving to less auditioning and more being offered parts. Actors usually try and think if they would have enough to survive 18 months out of work so even lots of work wouldn’t lead to a huge lifestyle change initially.

Agents like brand deals because it’s good money and isn’t subject to opinion etc like in movies. Also maintains visibility but is low risk. Both Hudson and Connor now have those big brand deals so that must provide good financial stability.

This info came from a variety of internet sources so may not be fully accurate but it’s really interesting. Bottom line is that Connor and Hudson will be earning alot more than when they were waiters! 😆

I think Connor has done a fragrance brand which will come out at some point, I think they’ve got to make hay while the sunshine’s. There’s no guarantee any of this will convert to a success Hollywood career.

I think you’re right. Starboys. Such charisma. They will always be Shane and Ilya to many of us though. The little show on a small budget which broke our hearts and brought us joy. 🥰

The thing about the budget is that it is not so small. It is totally normal, Peaky Blinders had similar budget per episode and it was a historical drama which inflates production costs. Sherlock, which was a massive, massive hit had similar costs if you adjust for inflation (at least for the first series). I think Netflix, Apple & Amazon with their unlimited budgets inflated costs in the US and it skews perspective of what is reasonable.

I've finally read all of the books in the series - Role Model has just made it to my top spot. I absolutely love Troy and Harris 🥺

I have just started watching "Fellow Travellers" on Paramount and wow - I didn't expect it to be so good. It's absolutely brilliant and Hawk is very very very handsome! The soundtrack is also gorgeous.

Has everyone on this thread seen it? It's a whole other calibre compared to HR.

Yes…it’s great. But it’s a proper drama. HR is a romance in the truest sense. And I found FT heartbreaking (no spoilers). Give me HEAs aallll day!

Also….still reading all the books. I am liking Common Goal but there’s ALOT of yearning. I’m half way through and they have only kissed! Get on with it!
