He kidnapped Mel later on ,

I think they could recast Jay, but not sure if it's worth it. I am pretty sure Ben is supposed to be returning this year, after the actor finishes other commitments. They definitely could not recast Sharon, would be even worse than Michele and that was awful!

Leticia Dean has had extended absences over the years. I'm sure they'll write her back in when she's ready. I think she's looking after a very sick relative (her mum?) IRL.

Joel's change of heart was very odd and the scene afterwards with him crying and saying sorry just felt too quick and neatly tied up. I'm shocked he's potentially only getting a year considering the attack on Vicky.

I knew the girls were set-up by Bea. And of course they meet up with her in the square afterwards, in full view of everyone🙄 I'm surprised Vinny can just take on another member of staff. The mini-mart never looks busy.

Is Ravi now self-harming?? Seems we had this storyline with Amy not so long ago.

I am liking Mark jr. He can actually act! Also love the Fowler/Mitchell mash-up. He's channeling Grant in those tight t-shirts and looks a bit like Mark.

In suppose they could have Jay die off screen, but that would be too cruel to Lexi !

They could bring recast Jay back in a few years, like they did with Todd on Corrie (new Todd is probably even better than old Todd). But Todd was a more high profile character, Jay isn't really missed is he - not even by Lexi!

I had forgotten how long Jay has been in EE. The old ones they put on show him as a young boy. I always thought of him as a fairly new character, but he wasn’t.
The writers should address it, but I agree that Lexi isn’t bothered and seems alright with Callum and Johnny
Even Phil isn’t interested in her and he tried to get custody of her as a baby once!

So Lexi is living with her ex stepdad and his new boyfriend while her bio dad is in prison and her third dad has vanished up North with a new girlfriend. Lol. IRL one of her many grandparents would have stepped in to take her but Phil, Kathy, Billy etc all seem cool with the set-up.

Agree it is bizarre that Jay is never mentioned. Surely Callum could mention something in passing, eg new girlfriend is pregnant and Jay is starting a new life with her. And what has happened to the car lot, Lauren is never there!

Nope, Lauren is never at work. Nobody cares about Lexi and her grandparents are too busy with their own lives to worry ! Johnny is often seen lurking around with Linda, is he still with Callum ? They are never together just now. It’s weird how Lexi has two grand parents and Billy too across the square , yet nobody checks up on her.

So Kathy has a whiplash neck injury but not been near a hospital and has gone into work.
Lainey has apologised to Kathy but no-one has suggested "Oh you need to contact your Insurance company"
Kathy's cab was a rather nice Insignia , surely that would have a DashCam as it is a Cab .
And as long as Kathy has an MOT and Insurance and a Residents Permit she can park her car outside the Boutique Hotel . Lainey doesn't own that bit of road.

I'm surprised Ian hasn't gone for compensation, even if it was non deliberate , Elaine would be classed as at fault .

The two shop lifting incidents within 24 hours at the Minute Mart were daft .

When Ravi was at the back of the brick building by the stairs - where was that? I keep seeing this huge building ( it has Wharf written on it .

Not a bad week . At least Jasmine has gone . (hopefully for good )

I bet Jasmine will show up again in time for the anniversary week ( maybe with Jake ?)
As long as she ends up confessing and disappearing again I think I can bear it! However, Partick did say to Oscar about being a Truman on New Year’s Day , so let’s hope she won’t be hanging around , but that doesn’t sound good. Who knows ?

It’s usually the woman who is welcomed into the man’s family as a new member (since she takes on his name) so it wouldn’t really make sense for Patrick to say Oscar is a Trueman if he married Jasmine. I’m grasping at straws as I really don’t want them to end up together.

I didn’t understand Kathy working with whiplash either or why she hasn’t sought medical advice. I guess since Dr Evil is dead the non existent GP surgery is not functional again.

No, I am hoping that Patrick meant something else there! Maybe they become great friends or he teaches him chess or something like that ( as he did with Bernie)

I agree Elaine was boasting about her insurance and Kathy should have claimed for her injury. Surely Ian would have told her to!

I suspect (hope) that Jasmine will be in jail and Oscar will be with MySon by next Christmas. As long as MySon can actually act of course.

The other way Oscar could be a Trueman is if Max is marrying Chelsea, Patrick has unofficially adopted the Fox family enmasse. So that would make him Patrick's step grandson, or maybe even great grandson?

I think that I often feel the storylines run on the same time lines ( roughly ) as we do , but often things are brought up at a later date! I’m sure that Ian will tell his mum to claim for her neck, but I’m sure she’ll need to see a GP first to get the ball rolling and she is a bit anti Ian herself just now, so she wouldn’t be too pleased if he starts to interfere!
The surgery needs a new Doctor now Antnee is no more. He seemed to be there by himself before.
A new hunky doctor on the square would be nice.. although new characters are always evil , so maybe she’ll need to go to A and E instead !

Surely the team behind EE must read SM and nearly all of them all dislike Jasmine and Bea.

I don’t mind Bea . Just a slight eye roll at being another baddie. Plus it’ll probably be another over egged story around revenge.
I wonder if it influences anything ? In Jasmine’s case , I do hope so! Everyone really hates this character
Maybe she’ll turn out to be Jake’s love child with another woman and that’s how she really knew Chrissie
The Hospital story meet up was another huge lie by both of them. Then she can disappear to jail.

The hospital meeting was the single most ludicrous storyline in EE’s history. Chrissie just happening to hear Jasmine screaming “I hate Zoe Slater” outside the hospital after coincidentally being there at the same time as her🙄 And it doesn’t make any sense..Chrissie was released from prison and drove off into the sunset with Jake. Why would she care about Zoe and revisit the past after 20 odd years behind bars!

Ohhhhh yes…that would work! I forgot about the Chelsea link. She definitely looked like a bride in the flash forward and she has such terrible taste in men it would make sense.

Yes that would certainly work @gingercat02 . I don't know whether to hope it is Chelsea marrying Max. I'd love her to have a big storyline but she's too young for him and he's a nightmare.

@Eastie77Returns yes, and how did Jasmine know Zoe's surname was Slater? The hospital only knew her as Zoe.

Didn't Jasmine say she'd read about Zoe being shot in the paper, so "knew" 🙄exactly what hospital she was in, and I suppose, her surname?

I still feel that Chrissie coming back was more for Sharon , but it was all hastily rewritten. Having Sam and her Zoe and sharon would have been awesome with the right scripts and so on, but it ended up being Jasmine and the Antnee one.
Zoe tells Partick next week about what Antnee did.

@NowNumber5 but how did Jasmine know Zoe's surname was Slater? It would have made sense if Zoe had tried to find her kids through official channels (so they would have her details) but she refused to do that for Plot Reasons.

80s, Sharon and Chrissie already had their 'final showdown' the previous year, I can't see any point in reviving all that!

@Shellingbynight I thought her whole name would be reported in the paper... maybe 🤷‍♀️😅

No, i was just thinking they may have got Sharon involved if she had been around last Christmas.
However , I do hope that Jasmine is gone for good soon.

@NowNumber5 yes absolutely, it would be in the paper. It was reporting on her being shot, wasn't it. But Jasmine would not have known that her mother's name was Zoe Slater.

Jasmine is going to have to turn up again so she can be jailed in Zoe's place!
