Jake Moon’s coming back now

This February, Jake Moon is on his way back to our screens as Joel Beckett reprises his role for a short stint.

Jake returns in search of answers about what really happened at Christmas, but he gets more than he had bargained for when he learns a different version of events that leads him to question the woman he loves…

With his conscience weighing heavy, and with multiple versions of events to contend with, only time will tell if Jake will do the right thing for not only himself, but for the sake of his family…

On returning to EastEnders, Joel Beckett said: “It was really lovely to step back onto the Square after all this time and revisit Jake. Being back working alongside familiar faces, as well as some brilliant new ones, was a real joy and it was good to know that Jake had been out there, alive and well. He returns carrying plenty of unanswered questions and the storyline takes him in some unexpected directions with real twists and turns. I’m excited for people to see what he’s been up to.”

Ben Wadey, Executive Producer added: “I’m delighted to welcome Joel Beckett back to the role of Jake Moon and EastEnders for this storyline. Jake’s return will be a shock for many, but the biggest shocks of all will surround Jake and what he discovers about Christmas…”

Who is Jake Moon?

I don’t remember Jake much tbh. He is a moon , but Michael was the best baddie Moon. sadly he died.

He was last seen driving away with Chrissie. But I don't remember him from before that.

He was heavily involved with Johnny Allen and Andy Hunter (this was the big gangster period of EE 20 years ago) and killed his brother, Danny.

They brought a lot of Moons in back then. The only memorable ones are Nana Moon and Michael. Jake was rubbish, completely forgettable and does not need reprising. And nor does the awful stalking plot with Chrissie and Zoe.

I recall Andy Hunter as he nearly married Kat !
He was nice looking , but evil and she was rescued by Alfie eventually ( hard to imagine I know)
Can’t recall why she was marrying a man she hated

Michael Moon is Tommy’s dad , so he is a half moon !

I was thinking yesterday how the writers have made Vinny so vanilla ! He hasn’t much personality at all and glued to that flipping clipboard.
What Penny sees in him I’ve no idea.
He isn’t bad looking , but nothing much else going on there. Always been a bit part.

My memories of the Andy Hunter years are quite blurry now. I didn't like the gangster years!

I never understood why they got rid of all the Panesar kids except Vinny, who is so bland you barely notice he exists. I don't believe Penny would be interested in him!

Even though the Kheerat actor didn’t want to act in this anymore, they could have re cast him maybe? Although he is in prison isn’t he ?
Ash left to go abroad and Jags died (?, can’t remember what exactly happened there ) so only Vinny left.

Andy Hunter was nice looking , but totally evil.
He was able to blackmail Kat into marriage ( which didn’t go ahead in the end ) , it was all horrible. I believe Eddie Royale was around then as well as Craig Fairbrass playing someone too.

Jags was pretty dull too now I think of it 😆
But Kheerat and Ash were a bit more interesting. Ash was very shouty though.

Andy Hunter was a smooth criminal.

Craig Fairbrass was called Dan I think, and connected with the Jacksons?

Wasn't Andy H thrown over a motorway bridge by Johnny Allen, Ruby's dad?

Craig Fairbrass had a bit of a Hollywood career in the 90s, but it fizzled out.
The one who played Andy Hunter had a quick extra spot in ‘Notting Hill ‘ at the market.
Ash was ok, but she was shouty. Suki was horrible to her. No wonder she left.

@NowNumber5 I do remember a motorway bridge featuring. I also remember being very glad about it😆

Johnny Allen was one of the most convincing gangsters they've had.

Johnny Allen was a good baddie.

Caught up on this week's episodes. Do the writers and producers think we see the Elaine and Ian thing as a bit of light relief and we're all sitting with tears down our faces laughing? More like squirming on the sofa at the embarrassment of it.

Trial ok, could have done without the Vicki drama. Saw another poster say about a pregnancy, that would be right as we haven't had a who's the father for a while
Please can we have a Jay new head if we can't have Jamie back. Just ignoring a character that has been there for so long is just ridiculous and quite frankly taking us viewers as idiots(beginning to think we might need a new head Sharon too). So many storylines weren't finished and just brushed over.

Don't actually remember a lot more from this week, the plots aren't really gripping me at the moment

A new head Sharon just wouldn’t work! It would be even worse than the decision to recast Michelle, which was a huge blunder. Having said that, I don’t miss Sharon / Letitia Dean.

Hope they recast Jay as he is a big character and would never leave Lexi over Christmas. However, the people around Lexi all seem to have also disappeared, so maybe it’ll be a case of him relocating and Lexi going for visits. Is Ben returning ? Maybe he will.
I agree that some of the stories are a bit meh at the moment.
I don’t mind E laine and Ian, it ever was with him and his beloved council. I just hope E wins it just to make him squirm.
