I’m definitely not a fashionista myself, but I wish the wardrobe people for all the characters could mix it up
They seem to attach a style to a personality and that’s all they can wear.
I bet Bea will be in the same beige coat for ever now.
Honeys hair looked a bit different today though ‘

I’m not getting the whole Bea is like Honey thing, she’s really creepy, Honey is a bit ‘away with the fairies’ as my gran would say but harmless.

day to day Vickie dresses very much like a lot of people I know my age, a bit like Julie dresses for her age too. Linda, Kat, Elaine etc all dress ‘up’ for day to day life, not many folk do that surely?

It’s not really her clothes I find old fashioned about Vicki, more her demeanor too? I agree that some of the women are far too done up , yet when Zoe was in dowdy jumpers and her pjs I was agreeing that she should have made more of an effort ! Lol
Some don’t seem to dress practically for their jobs ( Linda , E’ laine ) it’s an odd mix isn’t it!

I don't know anyone is real life who dresses like Sam , Or Linda .
Preia dresses nice ..I'm 50 and dress similar to preia when she's in jeans ..but not the mini skirts .
Vicki is very much how I dressed about 15/20 years ago ..
I suppose sometimes we do get stuck in a style as a women .
I liked the fact at first Zoe wasn't caked in make up
I felt she represented how most women I know dressed ..jeans baggy jumper no makeup

Elaine Kat and Linda are all landladies, so the overdressing is their uniform. I remember years ago it was mentioned that the clothes and heavy makeup are Kat's 'armour'. Linda does slob about in joggers sometimes. I do actually have a neighbour who dresses quite like Elaine (same age!). She likes to be the centre of attention.

I agree it isn't just Vicki's clothes, it's her whole demeanour. As PP said above she is (using words MN does not approve of) mumsy and frumpy. So I suppose her clothes suit her, but I am a bit confused as to why she's portrayed like this from what we know of her backstory.

Bea isn't at all like Honey really. Honey is kind, warm and helpful. Bea is none of those things!

It emerged today that Bea is a wrong ‘un as she orchestrated the burglary at the mini mart possibly to get a job there. For me that was a surprise although some people here did think she could turn out to be a bunny boiler. I don’t think Ronni Ancona is suited for a dark story but we’ll see.

Joel changed his plea to guilty and cried his eyes out to Ross but sentencing has been postponed. His u-turn within one day was ridiculous.

Wardrobe give the women a uniform to fit with their personality , but with the men it’s even worse ! Billy and Phil have had the same clothes for years , Alfie and his patterned shirts , Zac and his long coats ; that’s when he isn’t ripping off clothes that is ! At least jumpers had different coloured jumpers occasionally ( round his neck ) I noticed Ian looked a bit less grubby , but his clothes are more practical for working in.

Yes the Joel turn around was awful, it happened in seconds, not a day. He went from laughing at Avani, to suddenly changing his plea, it was not believable at all. Also did Tommy say that Joel will get 1 year? If so he could be out before Christmas!

Yes Vicky is "mumsy" which makes no sense as she isn't a mum, she also was quite alternative when she had the American accent, I'm not sure how she got the "mumsy" look. For me it makes her seem older because she's dressing like the 45+ aged mums at school, who are rushing to the office etc, but Vicky doesn't have a school run, nor an office job, she's not even running a home. I'm not sure what she fills her days with, other than moping around.

I also think today's episode should have come with more of a warning. I know it had a tiny written warning in the left of the screen, but that only mentioned self harm, and it was easily missed. I think they should have warned about the trial (sexual abuse themes) and the self harm.

I’ve not seen it yet, but maybe Joel is faking it all ?
Vicki is an accountant , she should ask to work with Kathy and Ian on the accounts instead of just being in the cafe as a waitress/ cook.
Although I suppose Ian does all that too as well as snarling at Elaine and Linda!
Im sure she could get another job, but they don’t like them commuting anywhere do they !

Vicki - who still owes Sharon money - could earn a lot of money at a firm twenty minutes away from the square instead of working in a caff and getting paid the NMW, but this is EastEnders.

Wow - Avani, again she is a wonderful actress - welled up a bit today at the "I don't need a boy to give me worth" just - well done!

Vicki is the right age to be a mum too, or has she never wanted children?

I agree she should be working in the city or at least for one of the firms in the square as an accountant/bookkeeper. Even Bea getting herself a job in the Minute Mart is slightly unbelievable seeing as she had a job in government before. Nice touch with the young girls but could she really recruit them so soon and how?!

I agree about the clothes being a bit typecast. I quite liked Ruby’s fashion sense. Sam should be in Zara or Massimo Dutti. In fact wardrobe should come on SAB here for some advice!

It is weird that Vicki hasn’t had any children fathered by a Mitchell or a Moon ! However, it is refreshing to have a character who hasn’t got any children.

Oh god that’s the next storyline isn’t it - Vicky pregnant but who is the father? Zack or Ross.
I liked her black and white dress today!
All the main child actors were outstanding today (even though Joel’s sudden change of heart was a bit of a farce 🙄)
The two girl shoplifters were laughable.
Bea is giving off Stella vibes. When she told the girls “Off you pop” was menacing.

Oh, so the Bea ditzy act is just that then. Stella was the same too. Her old job didn’t work out because she was a fraud I guess and she’ll target Linda.

I do think there’s going to be a storyline concerning Bea and Ollie, as they’ve suddenly brought up Ollie lashing out at school and then there was the scene a couple of days again where Bea stepped in with her little chat with Ollie before school.
I think it will be to do with her wanting revenge for being bullied by Linda (& The Plastics 😉) at school.

Oh no ! I hope it’s not another Ben and Stella with Bea and Ollie. That was a horrible storyline.
He is also autistic , so maybe they won’t , but she is clearly unhinged and wants revenge on Linda ( maybe)

Those girls that Bea had obviously hired didn’t look too impressed with her did they! Did she pay them ?
Suki wasn’t very nice to Linda, she forgets that they were both once one of six .. it was a bit of a glimpse of the old Suki though there and her formidable handbag.
The Joel story is very disjointed isn’t it, unless he realized that he was going to be punished anyway , so may as well plead guilty. Didn’t make much sense.
His only getting a year too, so he may return for some revenge!
I hope E laine wins the council election tbh. If only to stop Ian being even more smug faced.

“Suki’s dealing with the HMOs” so the Panesars still have a property empire.

Vicki and her self pity was very annoying but at least she got over it. Avani and Tommy are ten times more mature than her. Nice scene with Tommy and Joel.

You’ve got to love Priya, dressed like she was going to a winter wedding😆

Joel is brilliant because he is so good looking and personable, you almost want to believe he’s done nothing wrong. I think they had him change his plea so that there is now the chance to bring him back later and they can show him to be rehabilitated. Which could work I suppose. They did that quite successfully with Bobby, and Bobby actually killed his sister! So Joel could be back in a year’s time.

I do hope we are not going to have a Vicki up the duff who’s the daddy storyline. But we are, aren't we!

It was obvious from the start Bea is horrible with a fake dizzy persona. I don’t believe she was bullied, it is all a fantasy, much like her 'job for the government'. (I don’t think they will do much with Bea and Ollie, mainly because the Ollie actor isn’t up to it.)

Suki still owns the Slater house i believe which is now empty. Although not sure what happened there.
They will still want the rent on it if they do.
Do they still have the GP practice?

Bea probably knew the two fraudulent girls from her time at the other place where the landlord evicted her!
He did warn Linda she was bad news , as did E laine.

Yes you're right Suki also owns the Slater house. I'm sure she will want the rent from that!

I don’t think Bea had a super-secret government job before - that was just some fluff she came up with on the spot when Ian asked for her employment history. Kind of “I could tell you but then I’d have to shoot you”. Reality: “I can’t provide any references”.

The way it’s going , Bea is probably an ex spy and is the one with the gun on New Year’s Day working for Chrissie ! She accidentally injured or murdered someone and was suspended and ended up in the dodgy rental.
