Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

Ok so I’ve googled Zac’s dad wasn’t Den but was Sharon’s real dad but he was also married to Kathy

i didn’t watch for years no wonder I’m confused

I’ve watched all of the years and I’m still confused.

the80sweregreat · 28/01/2026 17:25

I got it completely wrong with the dads and I’m meant to be a big fan and watched it forever storm! lol
I do recall Sharon finding her bio mum once.
Gavin was confusing because of the Kathy connection and her coming back from the dead and so on.

cramptramp · 28/01/2026 17:34

Has anyone ever had Eastenders as their specialist subject on mastermind? I’d be very impressed at anyone who could remember family connections.

NowNumber5 · 28/01/2026 17:38

@cramptramp They would need 90 minutes for just the Mitchells alone, not 90 seconds 😅

the80sweregreat · 28/01/2026 17:38

Cramp, I would love someone to have EE as the specialist subject ! Forty odd years worth of angst and remembering who is related to whom. Big old subject isn’t it.

storminabuttercup · 28/01/2026 17:48

It’s only going to get worse isn’t it

imagine if jasmine and Oscar have kids

well grandad was killed, when he was trying to strangle your grandma, by your mum. your great grandma also used to go out with your dad. Your great auntie Stacey on mums side used to go out with your grandad, your great uncle jack and your uncle on your dads side.
your great uncle jack on dads side is is married to your kind of great auntie Denise who isn’t really your auntie

that’s just the cross family stuff off the top of my head

Yes! Years ago. I got loads of them right. But wasn’t so much of it back then.

the80sweregreat · 28/01/2026 18:15

Gosh, yes. The Brannings are a rum crowd and the Truman’s not that much better really.

CorporaINobbyNobbs · 28/01/2026 18:19

Here you go

cramptramp · 28/01/2026 19:29

Thought Vicky was good at the acting today.

Stucknstoopit · 28/01/2026 20:01

Tommy 😭😭😭

Meredusoleil · 28/01/2026 20:04

Bloody Joel and his smirking face 😬 He better not get off scot free, or else it will make a mockery of the whole justice system! And that laywer of his 😈

Shellingbynight · 28/01/2026 20:04

Good to see Joel is as psychotic as ever!

Part of the problem with Vicki and Ross is we hardly ever see them together. I don’t see them as a couple, they just seem like vague acquaintances who barely like each other. But Vicki’s behaviour today put me off her even more, she is just so unsympathetic.

Nigel would not remember why he was at the bordello rather than at Phil’s, he wouldn’t simply accept it.

Elaine’s hair has been looking very tired for a while, I assume it is supposed to reflect her mindset. Thank goodness we have swerved an Elaine Ian relationship!

the80sweregreat · 28/01/2026 20:10

To be fair, any defence of Joel would bring up about how his dad and his partner enabled him by using bribes. It may be dirty tricks, but that’s how the law works and it definitely puts the adults in his life in the frame for why he was able to carry on :(
They do have the video footage though and tomorrow Avani is in the dock , so I hope he doesn’t get off.

the80sweregreat · 28/01/2026 20:14

I can’t see E laine and Ian together anymore. Maybe a while ago, but it’s a real stand off now isn’t it!
Kathy is funny with Ian though.
I agree that we don’t see Vicki and Ross as a credible couple. Even before they split up , they were barely together and he is just out earning money or moping about. They cleariy were happy in Oz and she left Spencer for him, but it’s the curse of Walford isn’t it. Once you live there, bad things happen to you !

Edited

Tbf that is the justice system irl, if he gets off I think it’s a reasonable representation.
ive been a witness in a similar case, not the victim, although a potential victim .
the cross examination was horrific even though there was irrefutable evidence to back up my version of events.
it was an horrific experience, I went through with it for the sake of the actual victim and of course for protection of the wider public but it honestly felt like I was the accused, I can see why she walked out (even though Its just telly) and I can see why cases collapse, it’s so much for someone to go through.

storminabuttercup · 28/01/2026 20:26

the young lad who plays Joel is brilliant, found myself wanting to wipe that smirk off his face. I hope if this is the end of EE for him he gets a chance elsewhere

the80sweregreat · 28/01/2026 20:29

The defence will use every trick available to get their client off or a lesser sentence. If only Ross and Vicki hadn’t paid off those victims , then they may have had a better case against him, but doing it twice just enabled him and he became progressively worse.
He still doesn’t believe he was in the wrong either, which is really sad as he doesn’t have any remorse.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 27/01/2026 22:10

I like Max with Oscar but the doting dad act won’t last.

I agree with @gingercat02 I don’t hate the idea of Zicky as a couple. It does seem a bit implausible but she could be a cougar and there seems to be something there between them.

Whoever said about Nugget improving as an actor, I agree, I liked the scene with him and Denz going out and then Denz encouraging him to go back to college.

What’s the story with Bea? I bet she’ll turn really psycho. She can’t be Max’s bride though!

Vicky is only just older than Zack he's 38, she's 39. If that's a cougar I'm one too. DH is 15 months younger than me 🐆

Shellingbynight · 28/01/2026 20:41

Vicki may only be a year older than Zack but she looks like his auntie. She seems so much older somehow.

I don't think Joel is going to get off, it's just false jeopardy. They have too much evidence.

Bea is a fantasist. A really annoying one! I don't think Ronnie Ancona's characterisation of her works at all.

the80sweregreat · 28/01/2026 20:53

Vicki has an old fashioned look. I can’t explain it, but she would havent have looked out of place in the early days back in 85! Maybe she was just flattered that Zac really fancies her, but from what she’s said about meeting Ross and having an affair with him, she seems to have a mesmerizing effect on men!
She isn’t Zac’s normal type , it is a puzzle.
I found Bea funny today , but she is so like Honey it can’t be a coincidence. Ian was nasty to her ( natch)
I feel that E laine wanted better residents than Nigel , Julie, Bea and Max , but as long as they are paying up I suppose she’ll have to deal with it turning into more of a boutique hostel !

Shellingbynight · 28/01/2026 22:04

Yes, that's exactly it - Vicki seems like she's time travelled from 1985 and has a really old fashioned look.

NowNumber5 · 28/01/2026 22:41

Sam is 50 and she looks fabulous.
Chelsea is also 39 and she looks bloody gorgeous.
The Vicky character looks dowdy and dresses frumpy (sorry MN!)
If I was Alice Haig, I'd be mightily peed off!

Stucknstoopit · 28/01/2026 22:43

How old are E-Laine and George meant to be and how old are they in real life?

I’ve known many women who look and dress exactly like Vicky, and yes they would have dressed like this or a variation of this for at least thirty years.
it’s just very ordinary , low maintenance, not striking, or offensive or attention seeking.
not fashion forward.
it’s someone choosing not to stand out, plus the mumsnet hated word, ‘mumsy’ ...
She dresses in safe office style clothes, what I call Next work wear

SnowFrogJelly · 28/01/2026 23:06

Great ep tonight especially court scenes.. getting tired of the Ian Eeelaine feud though
