Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

@TurquoiseDreamCatcher
8 years 😂
30 years here!

I agree I hated those playing card pictures on the wall. It was very Teddy though - "look at me, I'm king of the game players". Yes, that worked out well for you!

I’ve just googled. They’re ‘antiqued’ , not nicotine stained

Nicotine yellow in my book😂

the80sweregreat · 17/01/2026 16:11

I was surprised that Ravi is still that young , I thought he was older than he is.
They tend to have children very young on EE and then much later on in life ( late 40s or early 50s)

Shellingbynight · 17/01/2026 17:42

The actor who plays Ravi is 32, not Ravi himself.

EE Wiki says Ravi is 38 (Priya is 34). Priya was definitely a young mum, Nugget is 17.

Edited

I nearly tripped over in my rush to come here after seeing this on Facebook. I can’t remember who on here suggested it but you were right!

Southeastdweller · 17/01/2026 21:35

How lovely to have a real east ender joining! I said at the time I had a feeling he’d be joining as he’s a trained actor.

I'm sure Oscar won't leave. But why would he want to leave with Jasmine anyway? She is absolutely horrible to him. I hope next week is the end of their relationship!

I get the feeling she tells him she's pregnant to get him to agree to go with her .
( That's just a guess though )

the80sweregreat · 17/01/2026 22:51

Mark Fowler junior is Grant’s son isn’t he ?
Vicki’s half brother so also a Mitchell !
( I think)

Southeastdweller · 17/01/2026 23:13

Yes he’s Grant’s son. He was in the show for a few weeks back in 2016 and played by a different actor (now in Emmerdale) who didn’t bother with an American accent even though Mark up to that point had only lived in America.

Shellingbynight · 18/01/2026 08:19

Thank you for that info about Mark @MadisonAvenue

I can't help thinking it may be another "booked for their looks" casting and look how well that is working out with Jasmine. I hope I'm wrong and he's another Oscar.

didnt Linda already do drunk on a milk float?
Jasmine actor probably thought that was her best acting moment ever.
I am sure she must be a nepo baby because how else is she still there with such a prominent storyline?

Just had a look and surprisingly doesn't seem to be a nepo baby.

Wiki does say this though She is also a teacher and an administrator at the DNPA Performing Arts School in Brockley, London.

I dont like to be part of a pile on, but shes not good.

‘She is also a teacher and an administrator at the DNPA Performing Arts School in Brockley, London.’

this is crazy, what does she teach?!!!!

no, I don’t want to be part of a pile on either but so many viewers saying similar.
as soap opera viewers, we expect to suspend belief at times, and we do groan and complain at cheesy or unbelievable bits but the especially bad acting lately feels very much like poor performance.

We can blame bad dialogue and crappy storylines which both Jasmine’s and Zoe’s characters have played but their peers in the same storylines have been consistently good or at the standard we expect for EE.
this includes relative newcomers like Oscar and the other boy who’s name I can’t remember, and Tommy.

lexie is sort of understandable because she started as a younger child and has not grown into her character nor developed skills and I think she could be written out or replaced with a better actor.

the80sweregreat · 18/01/2026 12:40

They did start a semi interesting plot around Lexi with Callum and Johnny , but despite helping Nigel with his film ( which I was upset that we didn’t get to see ourselves ) she has been absent.
Maybe if Ben ever gets out of jail , she may feature again. I am not keen on her character, but they have turned her into a bit part, of which there are a few around.

Southeastdweller · 18/01/2026 12:41

She’s a terrible actress. The scene this week with her acting drunk coming back to the square on the milk lorry was one of the worst acted scenes in EE history and I’ve been watching since day one. She has a lot of meaty scenes but just can’t deliver properly so it’s distracting. What I don’t understand is how people like her get cast? Isn’t there an audition process these days?

Shellingbynight · 18/01/2026 13:04

Speaking of young brilliant actors like Oscar and Tommy - also Joel. He is a fantastic actor, and I think we get to see him again with the upcoming court case?

There are other good teens like Amy and Avani, and Lily isn't bad. (I know 'Avani' is actually not a teen!)

There are such good young actors around, and then you get... Jasmine. It was such an important role, how did it happen.

murasaki · 18/01/2026 13:27

Yes, for the quality of his acting, I'd like them to keep Joel, I just can't see how it can happen. He's not going to have a massive epiphany and become a feminist.

Springswallow · 18/01/2026 13:46

EE would be mad to let joel go
He's clearly a very strong actor..with the likes of some not so strong carrying intense storylines ,they need all the help they can get

Springswallow · 18/01/2026 13:47

There are certainly ways round keeping Joel ,if EE so chose to do so.and I hope they do

Southeastdweller · 18/01/2026 13:48

As Shelling says, Joel is back in the show for his trial, which we’ll see at the end of this month. I guess the case against him is watertight from what I recall about his story so I can’t see him coming back to the square, which is a shame because the actor is brilliant.

OP posts:
Shellingbynight · 18/01/2026 13:55

It's a shame he was used for such a short term storyline but I agree there isn't a way back for him. It'll be interesting to see how he plays the trial, presumably he will be in good boy mode (although it's quite easy to rile him!) There is video evidence so not sure how he'll talk his way of that.

Stucknstoopit · 18/01/2026 18:02

Yes, Joel, I couldn’t remember his name. Also Avani is good and I. Think lily was fab when she was worried about jean recently.
nugget is good so it’s definitely not a thing to have crappy younger characters

Was going to say the same thing. How to they get cast? They presumably have to audition and people more qualified than us go yes or no. If we can see she can't act why can't the professionals.

Alucard55 · 18/01/2026 19:52

Saying that Ronni Acina is a professional well known actress and she's equally as bad.

the80sweregreat · 18/01/2026 20:15

I’m not defending the new Bea character, but maybe she needs a bit of time? She is annoying atm, but new ones can be for a while then we like them !
I agree that the younger characters are good ( not Jasmine though ) Avani is very natural, but like Oscar she is a bit older than her actual character age.
Maybe that makes a difference?
