I started it just before Christmas and have binged it over the holidays. It's so much fun with some great characters. I'm about to begin S7 but suspect I'm not going to be happy with how it ends...

I’m just about to start s7. Love Diana! Early seasons I wanted Eliza and Charles to get together but it doesn’t work for me so I have changed my mind! Eliza and Josh are great together!

7 is especially disappointing for Diana fans. I like Lauren but she is no Diana Trout!

I know what you mean about the tropes @ZenNudist but it premiered over a decade ago after all so maybe it wasn't as obvious at the time. And the book it's based on was published a decade before that.

It's quite fun/cringe to see the milennial fashions in it - skinny jeans with ankle boots, leather biker jackets over a minidress etc. The very definition of "dated"!

Well I finished it. I quite liked the very last scene. I agree s7 wasn't as good as others. I don't think it was great but very easy watching.

Runningismyhappyplace50 · 23/01/2026 20:40

I loved the last scene- made me cry.

I’m watching this , I absolutely love it. So silly but i just adore the outfits and the total escapism of it all. It reminds me of something like reading sweet valley high books as a teenager or something. There’s a funny nostalgia about it, and it’s ridiculously addictive.
I love Diana and Maggie! Such good characters.

BurntBroccoli · 24/01/2026 19:22

Just found this on Prime - all seasons on there I think. Never heard of it despite it being years old but enjoying it so far.

Gettingbysomehow · 04/01/2026 09:10

Its not available in the UK.

It’s on Prime - all episodes.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 24/01/2026 20:03

I was watching an old episode of Sex and the City the other day and who should show up but Peter Hermann aka Charles!

It’s easy watching but they should have said she was 45 pretending to be 35. There is just no way she looks 26.

Hilary duff is also about 38

In fairness she looks better at pretend 26 than I did.

I find it exhausting and depressing what is expected of women because of their age. my life wasn't chocolate boxes and roses.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 24/01/2026 20:49

Hilary Duff is about 38 now, but she was late 20s when Younger started. I'm not sure how much time is meant to have passed in the show - I think maybe only about 3 years? Even though it ran for 7 seasons.

Yes Hilary Diff is now 38 but she was 28 when this first came out in 2015. She was 28 in the first episode so her actual age.

Daytimetellyqueen · 24/01/2026 21:46

I loved younger & so glad she ended up with Josh as he truly loved & appreciated her!

Agree with the recommendations for The Bold Type - it’s great and another female driven show uplifting other women.

So she was 28 pretending to be 41 and pretending to be 27? Did the bookers not see any irony at all in making a programme essentially about ageism in the publishing industry while demonstrating ageism in the acting industry?

Hilary Duff was playing her actual age, as was Sutton Foster, however Sutton (as Liza) was pretending to be a millenial to get a job. It was done very well & no ageism in the casting.

I think you're confusing Hilary Duff who played Kelsey with Sutton Foster who was Liza.

Don't read the thread until you have finished because there are some spoilers, it has been on a while now.

I was excited to watch but thought it was utter crap

Oh yes I have! Hilary Duff is a completely different person to who I thought she was! I thought she was an actress who looked more like Liza. I was thinking it was a bit mean to have a 27 year old play a 41 year old and have people talking about her wrinkly hands!

LidlAmaretto · 25/01/2026 16:16

Waaaait! Sutton Foster is Hugh Jackmans new girlfriend?!

Yes! They've been together a couple of years now.

Loved it! Don’t think The Bold Type is available to watch anymore.

ZenNudist · 02/02/2026 19:52

I was ill so finished it super quick. Watched the last few seasons half asleep. It was a lot like Emily in Paris and they kept spinning the same story out.

I really loved Maggie, what a beautiful woman. I loved the clothes. Sutton Foster is a stick but wears clothes so well and has such swishy hair. She was good for the role as she gas a down to earth approachable look about her face.

I really ended up annoyed at Kelsey whose story became so blah. She deserved better. I found the business stuff to be absolute hogwash. It was irritating.

Josh remained gorgeous to the end. I was sad she couldn't have both of them!!!! I'd have been happy if she'd got together with Charles and been happy . I couldn't help thinking that being step-mum to a baby was the raw deal when Charles girls were older .

I think they should have got Josh and Kelsey together. I liked that Lauren got her thruple. Maggie ending was a bit rushed and weird. I think everyone should have ended happily.

I was glad it ended. Noy like some shows where I feel bereft.

Not super impressed at SF cheating with HJ IRL.

LidlAmaretto · 04/02/2026 22:38

I just finished it too. God that last episode was a slog! Yes I thought the endings were a bit blah, and the Josh and Liza bit at the end was a bit tacked on. Poor Josh deserved better really.
Did SF cheat with HJ? I thought his marriage had ended before they got together? Where did they meet?
