I started it just before Christmas and have binged it over the holidays. It's so much fun with some great characters. I'm about to begin S7 but suspect I'm not going to be happy with how it ends...

Binged it and loved it.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 04/01/2026 22:14

Just finished s7 and it was nowhere near as good as the previous ones and what an unsatisfying ending. They should've ended it at the s6 finale!

Finished it and loved the ending.

Another fan here! So many funny moments. Season 7 felt forced to me, but at least it tied up some loose ends. Loved the supporting characters already mentioned in the posts above -- Diana Trout, Maggie, Lauren, Redmond - and the eye candy fashion.

SullysBabyMama · 06/01/2026 00:44

Also just binged this over Christmas and enjoyed…. But less so as it went on and on.
Also enjoyed The Bold Type that a pp mentioned.

WearyAuldWumman · 06/01/2026 00:45

I've just finished my binge. I'll not spoil it for you.

ETA Have just seen the update. Yes, I agree with you @KiIIingMeDeftly .

I am telling myself that Charles comes back from the retreat realising that he and Liza are meant to be and then sets about trying to win her back. They were great together, damn those writers!

And maybe Josh finally gets over her and finds someone else - now that his daughter is in LA, he could move there too and end up with Kelsey!

(Apols for the Xs, it was the only way for MN not to remove all the extra line breaks I added originally)

WearyAuldWumman · 06/01/2026 10:06

Yes - I thought that the writers had been hinting that we were heading to a happy ending, so I expected Charles and Liza to get their happy ever after and for Josh and Kelsey to end up together.

NerdyBird · 09/01/2026 09:20

I struggled through S7 and was actually relieved when I finished the last episode! Liza became v annoying, there’s a certain look she keeps doing which really got on my nerves. The stories were just too silly by the end (the musical!) and no Diana!

WearyAuldWumman · 09/01/2026 10:03

I really missed Diana in the last series.

RedRiverShore6 · 09/01/2026 10:16

I read that the last series was affected by Covid, a lot of series were badly affected by being made around 2020

KiIIingMeDeftly · 09/01/2026 11:15

It really suffered from the lack of Diana.

Agree series 7 wasn’t great and Diana was sorely missed . I do like the characters of Lauren and Maggie too ( think I referred to her earlier as Karen … ) .
Kelsey and Liza just became more annoying and their storylines were quite repetitive .

I also found the mother of Josh’s baby - Clare to have quite an annoying Irish accent . She was played by Phoebe Dynevor an English actress .

Im up to season 4. I'm enjoying it but wondering how they will drag the premise out to 7 seasons. Im posting on p1 so I can placemark and avoid the spoiler on p2. You lot who hibged- how many episides did you watch in one go?! We've been watching 2 or 3 episodes a night from before Christmas and we're still on season 4!

fashionqueen0123 · 11/01/2026 22:43

Watching it right now.

It’s weird it came up on my Netflix as ‘coming soon’ and then I saw it had 7 seasons?? Anyway I’m half way through 4!

Love Darren star stuff.

The Bold type is another good and similar show!

Started it on Xmas eve and finished last Sunday. I basically spent a lot of time watching it on my phone in my week off!

Apologies to anyone that hasn’t watched it all as I mentioned a plot line in a later series in a previous post .

Have also watched The Bold Type - just checked all 5 series are on BBC iPlayer . Think there was an issue when I watched it , that the final season was on another streaming service which I didn’t have .

It’s quite good , quite glam as about a woman’s magazine . Perhaps just me - I found that it maybe went on too long and the characters did start to grate / whine a bit .

If you can face the bad dubbing I would really recommend ; “Home for Christmas “on netflix . Set in Norway . Has some really quirky characters .

Slimtoddy · 12/01/2026 06:23

I don't think it's great but I can't stop watching it. Go figure. Some characters are good and there is the odd funny line. I don't like Liza as a character but still I keep watching.

IAmNotPrepared · 12/01/2026 09:00

It was my mat leave binge through December! I also wasn’t a fan of s7 at all though. I really enjoyed the call out to Thoroughly Modern Millie though! Seeing her dance to her own cast recording really amused me Grin

LidlAmaretto · 16/01/2026 18:55

Ive just finished s4. How are they getting away with RLL Moore as a sexual predator? The character is so obviously based on George RR Martin, which is fine for the books but I would have thought on shaky ground with the predator stuff. Also, where on earth in Ireland was that place Josh and Claire got married, and with a pagan handfasting ceremony?!

I love it. The millennial tropes feel very forced. I love it as a fantasy that you could relive your youth but better. Love the men. Can't believe they can get 7 seasons out of the idea.

Its funny watching it now, when Millenials are 40!

duckfordinner · 17/01/2026 09:00

Love Diana. Find Kelsey super annoying.

Runningismyhappyplace50 · 17/01/2026 15:40

I’m just about to start s7. Love Diana! Early seasons I wanted Eliza and Charles to get together but it doesn’t work for me so I have changed my mind! Eliza and Josh are great together!
