Death In Paradise
Christmas Special:

The Caribbean-set crime drama returns with an office Christmas party taking a sinister turn, when four co-workers wake up to find a stranger dead in the pool of their villa.

DI Mervin Wilson (Don Gilet) and the team identify the murder weapon, but are left baffled when they find it was locked in a drawer when the murder took place - thousands of miles away in Swindon.

Meanwhile, Mervin anxiously waits to hear back from his newly discovered brother, hampering his efforts to get into Saint Marie's Christmas celebrations.

With guest appearances from Josie Lawrence, Kate Ashfield and Pearl Mackie.

Thank you
I can’t remember the ending of last series, so will have to rewatch.

Radiatorvalves · 19/12/2025 09:01

We’re going away after Christmas. DS has suggested we cancel! 😂😜

For sure…. I can’t imagine that it won’t keep till our return. 😂.

Clawdy · 21/12/2025 08:37

Looking forward to this one.

Lunde · 21/12/2025 22:32

Looks like a bit of crossover this year as Selwyn was in Shipton Abbott this Christmas when he got a call from Saint Marie requiring his help ......

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 21/12/2025 22:39

Swindon's not too far from Devon, after all. Hope it's as enjoyable as BP was tonight!

2Rebecca · 23/12/2025 20:35

I thought DIP had ended and it was now just the UK and Oz spin offs

No it's still running with grumpy cop from last year's Christmas special.

DIP usually has a Christmas special and then a Caribbean series from January to March, the Beyond Paradise in Devon runs from Easter to around May-June, then the Aussie Return to Paradise in the autumn.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/12/2025 22:05

Oh gosh no. The BBC and Robert Thorogood will squeeze every last morsel out of the Paraverse, as I saw it described elsewhere the other day. Three variants and counting.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/12/2025 22:03

Indeed they do

Not as good as BP, but I enjoyed it. Rather chuffed that I clocked the murderer early on, though not the full details given in the usual incredibly convoluted explanation!

Kingsleadhat · 28/12/2025 22:55

Just watched it. It was hilariously bad

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 28/12/2025 22:57

The word preposterous may have been uttered here, more than once! Xmas Grin

Wasn't it? And one whopping great plot hole. Who writes this stuff?

MyOtherProfile · 29/12/2025 00:18

We used to love DIP but this Christmas special was so bad. BP Christmas special was lovely. The Aussie one - can't remember the name - would be good with a different actor in the main role.

Lunde · 29/12/2025 00:24

DH is very grumpy as in the first 5 minutes I clocked

  • the murderer
  • that the body was likely in the garden of the murderer
  • that it was the name of a ship

The whole gun/bullet thing was very contrived

No way I'd put my TV on the beach

RescueMeFromThisSilliness · 29/12/2025 00:26

The whole gun/bullet thing was very contrived

So was the whole passport thing.

ErrolTheDragon · 29/12/2025 00:33

Well of course it was contrived, it’s Death in Paradise!😂 I thought Marjorie casually shrugging off making a fake passport as trivial was quite funny.

BeaLola · 29/12/2025 01:41

For me it was the notion that the company making mugs, T-shirts etc had £500k disappear but we're still in business and still had money to take 4 staff members on a freebie to the Caribbean

NewAgeNewMe · 29/12/2025 06:04

It was so good I fell asleep
then rewound the last 10 minutes
i knew it was Marjorie but couldn’t work out how.

IAmKerplunk · 29/12/2025 06:11

Nothing will ever beat the Richard Poole 1st series for me. Still make myself watch it though. Thought last nights was meh
