Spooks (epic show) made a massive PR fuss about having Lisa Faulkner starting in it… then killed her off about 10mins into episode 1 to keep the fuss going.

This phenomenon is referred to jumping the shark based on an episode of Happy Days, where The Fonz jumped clear over a shark whilst waterskiing or something. It was a total departure from the show and it was never the same again.

For me it's when soaps use dream sequences, go back in time. You may as well have a fire breathing dragon fly over the Rovers or the Vic.

Channel 4 shows try to throw nudity in to make people watch, but try to provide some kind of intellectual justification for the nudity which fails. Think they did a show where they removed all of people's possessions from their house under the guise of pondering if we are all too materialistic - which funnily enough included clothes. 🤔

I agree using nudity as a "social experiment " I saw a new 1 advertised naked island or something ch5s answer to love island.

It isn't on ch5 its paramount plus! But still.

Who’s Your Daddy was an American show where a woman who’d been looking for her Dad for most of her life, was given 8 men, who all said they were her Dad. She had to work out which one it was. If she got it right she got a big cash payout. If wrong, the man she chose got the money.

In a similarly cruel vein, there was that show that had men vying to date what they thought was a woman, but was actually a transsexual male. I think it was called There's Something About Miriam.
