Alexandra Burke did an epic jive to Proud Mary, Amber won't top that one, imo.

That jive was so good.
I also loved Karim's to You Can't Stop the Beat.

I have a feeling of doom about Alex's cha cha.
Amber and Nikita will be excellent technically, but soulless, like all their dances. The judges will wet themselves though obviously.
Bal seems to have deliberately been given a substandard jive song.
George will be good.

I love her and Johannes, but cha cha is often a dance of death, and almost never exciting enough to get many votes.
Maybe if they can make it as camp as all get-out?

I want Lewis Karen George in the final. But the only way Amber could leave is if she’s in a do with Lewis and I’m not sure Lewis will end up in a do . I suspect it will be Amber, George and Lewis in the final. Lewis probably deserves the win but I wonder if George’s followers will see him through to the win.

Remember when poor Melvin Odoom had to do a tango as a bellhop because the song was Moving On Up and, well ..... lifts.

Do they dislike her, or do they just (for wherever reason) really want to push Amber? Did Amber being in the DO spook them? Or had they already allocated all the dances by then?

I don’t think they’re trying to punish Balvinder and push Amber; that underwater themed quickstep to Reach For The Stars with the ghastly dress and gold gloves were hardly designed to give Amber a leg up, but as a pp said, that’s Strictly. Crazy at times, right on the money at others, bearing in mind we all feel differently anyway. Whatever the majority thinks, there’ll always be a person or people who thought the modern music or the panda/lobster/carrot costume (have we ever had a carrot?) was a brilliant idea.

Balvinder’s had a rough ride, but she’s hanging on in there, so maybe it’s time for that other classic Strictly cliche to rear its head - the shock elimination!

On the subject of ringers when we think about the most iconic dances in strictly history you think of the Laytons and Jays and Danny Macs don’t you.

Non-ringer whose dances I always think about - Colin Jackson... I think, because he was from an early series, he's perhaps forgotten a little bit but was absolutely enchanting - his ballroom especially was just gorgeous and he was fucking ROBBED of the title!

And I know she did do dance lessons but not in the way some of the ringiest-ringers have, Alesha Dixon! My all time favourite winner ♡

Yeah I definitely don’t think of any of those 3 when I think of dances I really liked

Jay's jive and Danny Am. Smooth are two of my favourite ever Strictly dances conversely I don't particularly remember any thing Layton or Ashley danced bar a vague recollection of something pirate themed from Layton. But I also think of Kara's AT, Mark Ramprakash's salsa, Jill Halfpenny's jive and lots of other early series highlights if thinking of stand out moments.

Colin was wonderful. Best ever male sleb rumba, and yes, gorgeous ballroom. I bang on about this, but everyone should watch his QS on the Christmas Special too.

@WarrenTofficier yeah definitely John/Jo Jo Pirate Dance, Ramps, Alesha, Ali, Faye, Ore, Kelvin, Abbey, Rose, Bill, Kara to name a few and be none specific. I love Faye’s Charleston and Denise’s even though I hate the Charleston

Agree, it’s a far better Foxtrot. Not sure Anton will be impressed that they’re messing with Ol’ Blue Eyes!

A ringer has high chance of getting to the final but almost no chance of winning.

Indeed. So if it is Amber and Lewis in the final, plus either Karen or George, it'll be K or G who wins.

Saw some rumour mongering online that 1 or 2 of the judges might follow Tess and Claude. Nothing of any substance though
