Well. Lots of posters over the years have said all manner of things, as you know. Neil doesn't bother me, but then I'm not bothered by LaVoix, or anyone else really. I'm just watching it because I enjoy the dancing!

My friend doesn’t like Neil. She says he constantly pushes himself forward. I never noticed before but she’s right.

My fav dancers are JoJo, Vito, Karen and Diane.

Lots of PPs have said it, but that doesn’t make it a fact. I can’t see it, he’s at the back of the group more often than not - but that’s not a fact either, just how it looks to me. The Neil thing ran for years on this thread, thankfully nowhere near as nasty now as it used to be, so please let’s leave it there. If he ever gets another partner we really will have something to debate, but currently that doesn’t seem likely to happen.

But while we’re on the subject of people pushing themselves forward, did anybody else notice the blonde woman leaning into shot when Tess was talking to Jay in the audience - or was that just me?! She was so close to him a couple of times I thought it might be his mum, then when a pp mentioned Jaye from Bucks Fizz I realised it was her.

I know??? I assumed yes it was to make up time. It would have made more sense if they were all picking randomly and putting their name on the envelope rather than picking up a envelope already assigned to them.

I got so fed up with NEIL! posts everytime someone happened to spot him in the Clauditorium. He's barely even registered in my mind this series, but maybe it's because those comments have died fiwn.

Anyway, he lost his dad a few weeks ago, so can we stop being so horrible anout him please, for a change?

They were choosing - they each had a box of several envelopes all named with their name. Each couple had a choice of every dance style they have already danced (presumably minus CC if they have done that). They picked one from that selection. The envelopes are named so they had the right selection of dances to choose from/ get the right envelope on the night. The signing presumably to indicate no tampering had taken place - ie the envelope hasn't been either opened or swapped.

I’m clearly missing something re the instant dance thing… so the couples open their envelopes then rush off, presumably followed by the camera, to choose a costume and perform for a mere 45 seconds? It’s going to be chaos isn’t it? And for what?

Mel Blatt of All Saints confirmed for Christmas Strictly. She told Scott Mills she starts training for an unspecified Ballroom dance with Kai today.

Thanks for the explanation about the instant dance and the choosing business I hadn’t quite twigged that they were picking from previous dances……well I sort of had but the explanations all felt a bit garbled, along with the not knowing what they’re doing.

I’ve just gone to BBC IPlayer to watch the Reunion Dance as that’s all I was planning on watching the show for last night seeing as there was no elimination, and what can I say?

The other guy was Jay McGuiness - he won Strictly years ago. His Jive (the original) is widely considered one of the best dances in the show’s history, though obviously the weekend’s rendition was not as good!

Also Bake Off: the Professionals. I love it, although I got fed up with the regular programme years ago.

It gives me lots of exciting ideas which I never put into practice.

It would be good to watch excellent dancers all the time and learn more about the various steps and so on, especially if they all did the same dance in a single show.

You don't know who Jay is? 2015 winner who's dance continues to be lauded as one of the best ever on strictly. I did think that he seemed to have less time than the others particularly Danny who seemed to do his entire routine (not that I'm complaining)
