I’m so over Nikita getting his chest out. I haven’t liked him much this year.

Totally unnecessary. Also men's waxed chests and armpits are repulsive, give me a hairy chest any day.

ilovesooty · 15/11/2025 22:27

I like Karen and would like her to make the final. I think Lewis and Katya are streets ahead of anyone else and deserve that to be acknowledged. She's by far the most talented choreographer and they should be topping the leaderboard this week.

LyndaSnellsSniff · 15/11/2025 18:39

Nikita has made me go all befuddled. Half of me thinks "put it away" and the other half thinks "holy schizzle sticks! 😍"

I’m so conflicted I may have to watch him all over again - just to check whether I’m appalled or bedazzled!

Wonder if Sarah Ferguson has been flogging her mid 80s outfits on Vinted.

Oh gosh I remember Fergie’s freebie designer dresses from then. A friend who worked in a lowly position for one of the Big Houses used to receive calls demanding free ball gowns and day outfits for the then Duchess and she would graciously mention the label name (this was a common try on from celebs). It transpired that one of the calls was from herself and when no freebies were forthcoming, Diana’s name was dropped. It went up the line for one of the ViP customer liaison staff, who advised that that they felt they would not wish her to trouble herself with personal recommendations, in tones that would make Jeeves sound common, and they where happy to ensure she had the correct tarrif if there were doubts.

In fact there were “special rates” and I’ve know idea what arrangements Diana had but Fergie was well known to the houses for demanding freebies.

SuziQuinto · 15/11/2025 22:36

The RF are not allowed to accept freebies. They have to pay full rates.
Ferguson's clothing was paid for by the late Queen.

EsmaCannonball · 15/11/2025 22:40

Is Gorka back from Spain yet? I kind of miss him from the show.

They are not supposed to take freebies but that never stopped the solicitation of offers of favours. The late Queen funded the wardrobe when the stories started to appear in the press. The house my friend worked for was certainly not the only one “offered” the opportunity to display their wares on a royal back.

JoeMarlerseyes · 15/11/2025 22:42

I really hope Vicky isn’t in the DO. The more people moan about her on here the more I want her to stay in.
this year is the first year of watching I haven’t got a favorite.

Nothing much seems to have changed on that front @C8H10N4O2 !

Right.
All her life, Diana (or rather Charles) paid full whack. Same with Catherine and Sophie. Same with Anne, although she probably hasn't bought anything in years!

Diana was known for paying, no idea about the current crop as my friend is in a different part of the industry long since. All the houses had (have?) varying tariffs. However the “no freebies” is the PR version, rather like the “paying taxes”. All benefit to varying extent from their positions, some exploit it extensively (as we have seen), others much less so.

But this is getting off topic so I’ll leave it there.

Yes. Good idea.

This was my thought too. The "tank lagging" look!

I got bored a couple of threads ago by people carrying on about drag and woman face and what pronouns should be used, and I don't think I was alone. @EineReiseDurchDieZeit asked people not to derail the discussion with it. Can't we just discuss the dancing?

This. Thank you.

@ilovesooty and @EineReiseDurchDieZeit Thanks for reiterating this. 👍

SproutingBroc · 16/11/2025 14:13

I have enjoyed La Voix and feel she has added to proceedings. Will be happy to see her at Blackpool. Agree Shirley over the top about her though, and that Shirl always seems to blatantly have a couple of favourites every year.
Love Alex, have for 25 years.
Vicky irritating.
George deffo let down by choreo and music many times. I rather liked the Rumba.
Agree Bal often undermarked but feel now is her time to go.
Just haven't enjoyed Karen's dances much, not sure why.
And if they could permanently ban the ITV style boo-hoo fests I should be very grateful.

Edited

I thought she was great last week absolutely deserved her scores
This week waspsimful to watch so I just concentrated on Kai until it was over
I'd see her in do over Balvinder

TennisWithDeborah · 16/11/2025 14:51

I was disappointed with Vicky this week because I thought that she was a genuine “journey” candidate. This sort of celeb is my favourite kind because I don’t tend to vote for the ringers or the duffers, much as I enjoy watching them (for different reasons of course).

But the jive is very hard if you’re not a sportsperson, I guess, and you’re tall. I think that if she has progressed to Blackpool (I avoid spoilers so I genuinely don’t know) she will be better there, doing something different.

ilovesooty · 16/11/2025 15:00

I think you can forgive one stinker of a dance. Nigel Harman had a disappointing jive too. I think George is in danger of having too many disappointing dances though. He just doesn't seem to be making progress.

Mokel · 16/11/2025 15:03

It just shows that one bad dance and you very high chance your are a goner.

Guildford321 · 16/11/2025 15:30

The leaping around and jumping up on Kai and wrapping her legs round him and the gushing to Claudia and the overt earnestness won't be missed here.

arobinappears · 16/11/2025 15:42

Pps I hear you on not derailing the thread about LV but something in my gut is along the lines of "but will an actual woman lose out on Blackpool"...like Bal basically. Women losing a place to someone who is a man but is in the place of a woman. I can't really put it into words but I feel something to that effect.

Please don't flame me, I can't explain it properly. It should be a competition for the glitterball not balls with glitter

Chris Is a man competing in character yes i know lavoix is "female " but it isn't his fault the bbc didn't employ more women, it also isn't his fault that Balvinder isn't getting the votes.

Coffeeishot · 16/11/2025 15:55

Also apart from Ellie the eliminated couples have all been men and Stefan who withdrew through injury

I can't see how a woman is losing out to this man, likewise are they losing out to Lewis and George? LaVoix is a character. Chris is not claiming to be a woman nor using women's spaces. "Balls with glitter" could surely apply to all the male contestants?
