I"ll start with Victoria Coren Mitchell, I think she'd be amazing at playing the game and I like her sharp wit

Agree with pps re Sue Perkins. I meant to put her on my list but forgot.
Not surprised that no-one has mentioned the unbearable and talentless Mel Giedroyc. Sue P definitely did all the heavy lifting for that relationship.

David Attenborough
Noel Fielding
David Mitchell
Perhaps a well known politician like Boris Johnson (I hate him but it would make good TV 😁)
Keanu Reeves
Gillian Anderson
Sarah Paulson
Rowan Atkinson

Would love to see a couple of authors on there but not sure who!

Edited

This amuses me ALOT
I’d put my mortgage on the fact that David A, David M, Boris Johnson, Gillian A, and Rowan would all get on famously as are all cut from the same Oxbridge Luvvy cloth.

I was thinking Martin Lewis, and then I saw he was asked but couldn’t do it? Is that right? I think he’d be quite good but I think he’d have to be a faithful

If the producers are watching this thread…..

You’re welcome 😉

locketrocket · 09/11/2025 23:33

So many good choices here.

A lot I can’t stand, but can imagine them making good telly.

saltandvinegarchipsticks · 09/11/2025 23:50

Andy Murray being on it would be immense.
Bob Mortimer would also be top tier.
I also agree that Peter Crouch would be ace.
David Mitchell and Victoria Coren as a married couple.
Aisling Bea
Jarvis Cocker
Rachael Blackmore
Cerys Matthews
Tim Minchin
Gordon Ramsey
Rhod Gilbert
Andi Oliver

mamansloth · 09/11/2025 23:58

Gareth Southgate.
Andy Murray
Tanni Grey Thompson.
Jack Dee

Maybe Andy Murray and his mum! They both seem like people who get more interesting as you get to know them.

barskits · 11/11/2025 00:03

Much as I'd love Bob Mortimer to be on it, maybe his health issues would be a barrier.

Freddy Flintoff
sam Ryder

Bradley Walsh
Paul Merton

Without wanting it to end up a "token" thing, as a disabled person I would love to see at least one person with disability in the group. I realise depending on the challenges that may take some adaptation but it would be nice to see that representation

@LonelyFans Good idea - Adam Hills, Tanni Grey-Thompson, or Chris McCausland? Have you got some more suggestions?

Yes they are all good suggestions! Likewise someone upthread said Rosie Jones. Or Johnnie Peacock /Ellie Symonds etc. Or it could even be someone with a more "invisible" disability but that would still impact them in physical challenges (MS/ME/arthritis etc). It would be interesting to see how that impacted the dynamic but also it's just good to see disability represented on tv.

Gareth Southgate

saltandvinegarchipsticks · 12/11/2025 13:00

I’d like to see Gordon Reid or Alfie Hewett (tennis players) which would give representation for people with disabilities. Chris McCausland would be great as well. Or Rose Ayling-Ellis.

I’d love to see Claudia Winkleman give it a go from the other side.

Yep she is wasted in her heavily scripted role

Ruth this year didn’t have a leg. I think that was very much downplayed which is right

a blind person would be disadvantaged as not able to read body language. That said Chris McC won strictly didn’t he!

Pinkbowls · 12/11/2025 13:08

I would like a full panel of police detectives. I want to see if they fair better.

Ah good point, I think because she wasn't in for long i forgot. I agree, it's not about making a big deal of it,.just having a good mix of people. And being blind or deaf (for instance ) could mean they spot clues others miss. Or if they someone can't fully take part in a task seeing how others respond to that as well.

Olivia Coleman would be incredible 😍

I agree that Victoria Coren, Dawn French, Lee Mack, Bob Mortimer, Henning Wehn and the Chasers should be on the shortlist.

Victoria is a poker player so ought to be very difficult to read.
Dawn would be great.
Lee Mack can be very funny off-the-cuff.
Bob tells ridiculously tall tales which turn out to be true.
Henning would be blunt, grumpy and insult everyone, yet somehow get away with it. "Oh, BLADDY hell!"
It would be interesting to see the Chasers out of their comfort zone.
