I"ll start with Victoria Coren Mitchell, I think she'd be amazing at playing the game and I like her sharp wit

Dawn French
rob rinder
Alan titchmarsh

Sadly I am not, but if I was I would Grin

Damnit!

I’d love to see Hugh Grant like others have said. Someone just said Rob Rinder, I think he’d be good too.

I think throwing a politician into the mix could potentially be explosive. Someone said Boris, I too dislike him but it would be great TV!

Purplebunnie · 09/11/2025 10:15

Someone up thread mentioned perhaps having an author - Michael Morpurgo? The current poet laurate is a Simon Armitage, I know nothing about his poetry but perhaps some poetry could add/detract from all the musings round the table and whilst talking of Armitages how about Richard Armitage

As already mentioned
Joanna Lumley
Jennifer Saunders
Dawn French

I don't think have been mentioned but could be wrong
Susan Calman
Shappi Khorsandi
Matt Tebbutt
George Alagiah
Ian Hislop

Tennant has to be a faithful, it would piss him off if he wasn't a traitor

Edited for appalling grammar

theministerscat · 09/11/2025 10:23

Paul Merton
Jenny Eclair
Angela Scanlon
Lucy Worsley

Ian Hislop a brilliant suggestion.

PerfunctoryFunk · 09/11/2025 10:48

No no no to politicians, reality show grifters and influencers. The reason this cast were so brilliant to watch is because they were all likeable, and up for it. Conflict and bitching is better for the jungle, Love Island etc.

Bob Mortimer

This is the correct answer!

George Alagiah would be a difficult booking because he's unfortunately dead.

I already posted a list on another thread, but I'd particularly like to see Sandi Toksvig and David Tennant.

Please for the love of Mike, no Love Islanders.

barskits · 09/11/2025 11:17

I really hope the producers are reading this thread

Oh I bet they are. And quite a lot of agents too.

barskits · 09/11/2025 11:22

Calliopespa · 09/11/2025 00:08

I was going to say him. He's terrific at playing a charming villain, a kind of evil genius. But I somehow doubt he'd get himself involved.

I really like Emma Thompson but am not sure how she'd be off-script.

Emma Thompson writes scripts. 😁

Yes, I think what was so great about it was there weren't any love island type people on it. And that it wasn't about flirting or romance or trying to look sexy etc. And that made it such good family TV too

Ooops I was googling looking for our local news presenter whose name escapes me. I saw George and thought yeah. Sorry my memory is failing me a lot lately

Perhaps we could have a list of dead people who we would have liked to appear. Alan Rickman would have been brilliant

I reckon there will have been agents frothing at the bits, furiously sending emails all day on Friday, trying to get their clients on the next series after Thursday night’s final!

LonelyFans · 09/11/2025 11:29

I reckon Rob Beckett could be good.
And Romesh would be good as a faithful that everyone would suspect of being a traitor

Romesh is so dry I think he’d make an excellent traitor!

I know, I wondered about starting another thread for dead people we wish could be in it!

I just can’t wait for s2, it’s so great to have a “celebrity” version of something with actual well known names!

That's not what I meant at all.

She writes wonderful scripts. And FWIW she is one of my absolute favourite actresses.

However, when I have seen her in interviews, she strikes me as slightly hesitant about giving of herself (as would I be) in the sense that I get the feeling she prefers to hide behind a script rather than share too much of herself with the public.

That isn't a criticism of her at all; in fact she strikes me as someone who is in her career for the art itself, rather than relishing the idea of her moment in the limelight.

You will notice I also said upthread I don't think Hugh Grant would do it either, which I don't.
