Sad to see Harry go and sad for Karen. What do I know, but I thought he really raised his game in the DO and took the notes like a pro.
I didn't get La Voix's dance at all. Love the song but, like someone else has said, it felt like the wrong song for the dance or vice versa. Costumes, mood and choreo were all also sickly and twee. And it was boring. Surely one thing a drag act should never be is boring
Liked but didn't love Vicky. Arlene once said in the tango the upper back should tingle, and hers didn't. It didn't feel like a fierce tango breakup song either.
Alex was visibly nervous and uncomfortable. Very glad she got through; I think she has great things in her.
Hated Amber's salsa. Ugly arm-through-the-legs lifts, too many tricks and hardly any actual salsa.
George was utterly charming. I want him to do only ballroom. Or they could at least stop giving him stupid 'yoot' songs and theming for the Latin. All his friends are interchangeable, and dull, God love em. I guess mild-mannered and dull young men are better than lairy lads.
Lewis: flashy and sexy. Impressive choreo. Love seeing Katya being able to let loose. But I agreed with Craig, it was all hit too hard. Needed a bit of Jimmy's Cuban laid-back vibe.
Karen and Carlos: she is the most fit and energetic person I've ever laid eyes on. VERY challenging songs for a Charleston but she danced it so well. Love her, and she makes me like Carlos more too. They remain my favourites.
Balvinder was glorious. Heart and soul. Julian loved it and he loves her, bless his cottons. Fantastic drumming.

Fleur on ITT informed Karen that this was the 3rd or 4th Samba she was voted out with. I winced just rub her face it!

But that’s my point - it’s great if you’re there. I understand why it’s great for all the pros to go there with all the history etc.

But watching on TV it makes no difference really where they are so I don’t see why we have to be reminded every 3 seconds that they’re in Blackpool.

Just to be clear, I’m not saying they shouldn’t go to Blackpool - I have no issue with them going there. It’s just all the constant banging on about it that I hate!

I feel different watching it the atmosphere is better i think, I know all the Vts are stupid chips and rollercoasters where in reality it is November and freezing, but the show is great.

They hype it up too much and wheel out too many tired clichés about fish n chips etc, I don't disagree, but I don't think they just 'do the same thing' and I don't agree that it's just 'a slightly different-looking place'.
I like the extra dancers and the choreography they use to fill the floor, or the sets they come up with to contain it (remember the cage Angela Scanlon and Carlos did their Blackpool AT in?); and the Tower Ballroom is beautiful, even just watched on telly.

Don't Rain On My Parade and Weekend In New England are fine but overused. Strictly seems to struggle with finding fresh waltz songs. Maybe they should look to classical music? (Although that might not help in this instance with Alex's need for lyrics.)

Hmm, if Balvinder struggled to connect with the public with a proper Fred and Ginger foxtrot I'm not sure if My Guy will work for her. I like a lot of the Motown and soul songs they used on Strictly while simultaneously thinking they always make the ballroom dances a bit twee.

Purely on that list I am predicting Balvinder versus Amber with Balvinder going.

Sound of the underground is a terrible song Vicky should be in the dance off just for that bloody song.

La Voix gets CC. Colour me surprised.

And I've nothing particular against LV but they're the weakest dancer left.

She's a professional Geordie don't you know?Some song choices are terrible.

She may as well dance to the wheels on the bus go round and round cause it's basically the same song (literally, even the songwriter has admitted they based SOTU on it).

All the Blackpool talk reminds me, did anyone know that Vicky's late nan danced there? And if you don't then you soon will.

TBF it may be the production team hammering the professional Geordie/Girls Aloud theme. They're not known for their subtlety.

Yeah you are probably right. Although George did say on the results show. They do get asked about some songs they may like.

It may be that they asked and she said she liked Cheryl Cole, thinking she'd get one song, and they just lined up a whole load of them (due to a bit of a lack of imagination )

Thinking about LV v Harry one last time, I rewatched the main show yesterday and noticed how positive the judges’ comments to Harry were after his dance, whereas they were quite critical of LV… then they did a complete reverse in the DO. Nothing against LV, he’s been fun to watch, but hopefully Blackpool will be the last of him.

Yes, agree. And although Craig gave them both a note for the DO (heel turn for LV and a softer knee for Harry) and they said they'd both improved those things, it seemed a bit off that LV got saved for changing one small thing when H improved his knees throughout the whole dance.

Bit worried about George with a rumba. He’s much too nice to manage that.
