Breaking Bad! It's soooo good and soooo old.

Have you watched Better Call Saul? It’s a great show and I enjoyed it more than Breaking Bad.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 04/11/2025 06:21

Currently watching Parenthood on Netflix. 😃

ApplesinmyPocket · 04/11/2025 07:00

Succession.

Having seen some other classics (BB etc) I have come late to Succession but consider it probably the best TV series ever. Just starting S4.

It was my daughter (source of many of my best TV tips) who put me on to it,and she has been begging me to watch Better Call Saul for some time - i was put off by it apparently having a 'slow start' but that's going to be my next watch.

RaraRachael · 04/11/2025 07:10

The Sopranos.

OH has always been interested in anything mob related and I was surprised he hadn't watched it before we met.

Currently on series 4 and just love it.

A Really intelligent tv series for its time.

Another one for happy valley, didn’t know it even existed until about 5 days before the last episode of series 3. Went to look for it because a few people had been talking about the final episode and had watched the whole lot in about 3 days 😂 was eagerly anticipating the grand finale along with a lot of other people who had been invested for years whereas I felt a bit of a fraud because I was such a latecomer.

I did something similar
Although it was a couple of weeks after the last episode, binged all three series in a few days!

I'm currently watching Murder One from 1995 on STV app.

I vaguely remember it from when it first aired, I can't remember how it ended but it's very watchable despite how long ago it was made. Really enjoying it.

They also have Moonlighting on STV although I'm not sure if I'll watch that, wasn't a big fan when that was first on TV.

The Split. I caught part of The Split: Barcelona when it aired, and went back and watched the previous series.

WinterBerry40 · 04/11/2025 09:06

Gavin & Stacey , I binge watched all series last year . Not watched it yet but I've got my eye on Poldark next .

PrincessFiorimonde · 04/11/2025 10:21

Game of Thrones
Boardwalk Empire

SeaAndStars · 04/11/2025 10:31

Detectorists. I thought it would be boring when it came out. Started watching it and now think it might be my favourite show ever.

@Crushed23 I watched This Life when I was young and living like them in the 90s. At the time it seemed totally spot on about what it was like to be young then. I've tried to watch it again since and it's almost unbearable to think I was ever that bloody irresponsible and full of angst. If you liked This Life you might be interested in Capital City which was the This Life of the late 80s. Worth watching for the hair and clothes alone.

DriveMeCrazy1974 · 04/11/2025 14:18

Loads! Gavin and Stacey, Life on Mars- both of which are watched regularly now! Watched Inspector Morse only this year - we live literally down the road from where Colin Dexter lived and even said hello to him many times at the bus stop, but never watched it until recently!
Also, just watching A Touch of Frost. I think it's safe to say, I spent much of the mid 90s- early 2000s taking advantage of any offer to babysit from my mum and went out as much as possible, therefore missing most of the TV that was around at the time!

Wowisthisit · 04/11/2025 14:20

Dexter
Criminal Minds

We re-watched Moonlighting a couple of years ago. It was OK - funny enough, although it was hard to concentrate on Cybil Shepherd as she appeared to be filmed in soft focus a lot of the time! Ha ha!
I have found it quite enlightening re-watching shows I used to watch as a child/teenager, and seeing them through adult eyes. Even some of the comedies from the 1970s and 1980s have quite dark/sad parts when you look at them afresh.

BoyMama37 · 04/11/2025 14:28

The Handmaid Tale - Binged it in about a month the other week. What an amazing show!

Elliania · 04/11/2025 14:38

West Wing. My partner loves it and he got the BluRay box set for Christmas a couple of years back so we're watching it together (well he's re-watching!)
