the traitors always fuck up by not working together at the round tables. They should be planning who to vote off together.

matresense · 02/11/2025 16:56

Oh I agree @Tiswato a degree, but I don’t think that it was totally impossible for them to work together, or for Alan to lead the charge against Kate or David and Cat to be “persuaded round” at the table. I guess it’s just that the reward for being the last 3 of 5 is so great for them all that it’s probably a more likely victory for Cat and Alan than trying to hold on as a two.

butimamonstersaidthemonster · 02/11/2025 16:08

I think the final will be so boring unless they throw in a seer curveball or something. No way are Joe and nick going to let cat or Alan in the final. So the only tension is whether David also wins.

I agree - as things stand I don’t think it will be an exciting final. I wonder if the producers realised this at the time of filming and will throw in a curve ball?
It all comes down to who can persuade David which is ironic because, much as I like him, he has been pretty useless at the game

Mimosa3andmore · 02/11/2025 17:51

I'm going to say it. I like David. He's gentle and thoughtful and I think he's trying to play the game in a calm and logical way. He doesn't come across as thinking he's intellectually superior (in the way Stephen Fry did and didn't argue when people described him as such).

David quietly pointed out to Kate that they were repeating the same things back to each other during the last roundtable. She also said he kept bringing her to the table when he didn't - nobody raised her name as often as she did, at breakfast and during car journeys too!

I’d like to see some kind of curveball, as long as it’s not the Seer - that pretty much ruined the last series for me

Yeah that seer nonsense spoiled what was a good series

Umbilicat · 02/11/2025 18:04

They were unlucky with the seer because she picked the wrong contestant (no spoilers for those who haven’t seen it) – it did then ruin the ending of T3. I’ve watched way too many traitors from around the world and the last episode is almost always a damp squib, the drama fizzles out at this point, though UK 1 and 2 were epic

Have you seen AUS2? Also an epic ending.

The seer (or as we called it the sherif) works really well in mafia. But it’s right from the start so has complications of avoiding getting murdered and very much depends on the personality of that person.

WestwardHo1 · 02/11/2025 18:16

This is all very intriguing! I have no idea what a seer is. Guess will have to get stuck into some iPlayer.

123ZYX · 02/11/2025 18:43

I think if Joe and Nick (and maybe David) won as easily as it looks like they will, we wouldn’t have been shown as many discussions about them knowing who the traitors are, which makes me think there will at least be complexities even if they do end up winning

matresense · 02/11/2025 14:45

I didn’t totally get why cat threw Jonathan under the bus. There were 7 of them left and 3 were traitors, with a banishment and a murder to go. The 3 traitors wouldn’t have had to do that much to split the vote for Jonathan - Kate might have gone with David. Then they would have had 3 in the last 5. Obviously, not the finale that the producers would have chosen, but quite entertaining as a one off to watch the panic! Cat didn’t actually have to tell Joe that she was going with him and Celia; she could have said she had Jonathan or David in her sights and would watch them closely to the round table. And frankly it would not have mattered breaking her promise if they’d got away with it and banished David or Kate.

Because they had to give up a traitor at some point and Jonathan was turning on Alan (and her, but she only heard him name Alan).

WatchThisGladys · 03/11/2025 12:12

If Cat and Alan won and they both decided to "steal" the money, would that mean that none of the charities got anything? That would be a bit crap.

I'd like for Nick and Joe to win. If David sides with them, then I'd be happy for him to win as well.

David once made DS and I burst out laughing. He was lying in a trap waiting to see if the gate would slam shut and he somehow looked very funny. It was mainly the expression on his face, I think. You had to be there!

Well, none of the other contestants’ charities would get anything, I assume — all the prize money would go to Cat and Alan’s charities, 50/50. So MacMillan and Childline or whatever would get the total prize pot, over Water Aid or Rape Crisis or whoever the last remaining faithfuls” charities are.

ETA Sorry, I misread your post! Good question. Surely no!

matresense · 03/11/2025 12:47

@AuntyAngelabut what I am saying is that they didn’t actually have to give up a traitor. They could have tried to hedge their bets a bit more. If they could have split the vote of the four faithfuls and then each of the three traitors had voted for one person, they’d have got someone else out. And been totally invincible going into the final as there would not be the numbers to banish them

This is interesting- we have discussed Joe's "hero edit" on this thread- and I think the BBC are using it to give him a soft launch and now everyone loves him.

Genuine question-who on this thread had heard of him before? I had because we watch rugby but def not a household name.

No its not possible for them to steal

the game ends when there are only 2 players left

if both are faithfully they share it

if 1 of the 2 left is a traitor they win it all

I love Nick. He is definitely my favourite.

Is there a list anywhere of which charities they are all supporting?

I thought that would be what they talked about at the dinner, but maybe the producers thought it would get even more soft-focused, and everyone would spontaneously decide to let one charity win and not try to play the game any further or something?

Yes i had. Only ones i didn't know were Ruth and Nico

MrsMitford3 · 03/11/2025 13:35

I agree re keeping the charities low key-imagine the Traitors murdering someone which would then steal money from children with cancer or something.

It would change the way they played too much. Find out after is best I think.
Too much risk of emotional blackmail/manipulation

No, if a Traitor (or Traitors) win, their charity gets the money. If two win, they will split it, if two Faithful win then they split. If there is one Traitor and one Faithful the Traitor's charity gets the lot.
