Subjective but IMHO those who came out of it well:
The 3 Traitors.
The two Joes.
Nick
Celia
Claire ( gone too soon)

Those who didn't
Kate
Lucy
Ruth
Tameka
Stephen

I love that you forgot Tom!

Holluschickie · 01/11/2025 10:56

I also forgot David! He seems lovely but ineffectual. I aspire to his level of calm thoughm
Yeah Tom didn't come out too well, I think.

WestwardHo1 · 01/11/2025 10:59

People are saying they think Joe is a misogynist. I think his size and the fact that he's clearly a rugby lad doesn't help here. I don't see that he has done anything which shows he's a misogynist - he's treated everyone the same. He's on record as saying he can act like a total dickhead. Yes he has been forceful and competitive. Yes he forgot his champagne glass.

Tom Daley on the other hand seemed to take an instant and illogical dislike to Kate and he was also going for Clare. I don't think that side eye to Kate was funny - I thought it looked sneery. But he's a sweet knitting gay bloke who we have "known" since he was 12, so he can't be as misogynist as Joe the rugby player.

Disclaimer - I don't actually know either of them of course.

Marvelftw · 01/11/2025 11:06

@Stowickthevast I think the issue with Ruth is that she came across as very petty and brash. While she did correctly identify Jonathan as a traitor, it was for all the wrong reasons and for something that if he held up wouldn’t have made logical sense (I don’t think he promised to form an alliance with them and it was before the traitors were even chosen, so was he supposed to stick with them no matter what?). She seemed to take him voting for Niko very personally and came across as being quite malicious for the rest of the duration she was in the game.

@Holluschickie I've seen quite a few people mention that Stephen hasn’t come out of the game well and I’m not sure why. Sure he didn’t prove himself to be some sort of super sleuth but I think he played the game to the best of his ability and was pretty friendly to everyone. If anything it just shows that Traitors requires more than just intellectual ability to compete in the game well.

Someone who I don't think came out of the game looking well at all was Tom Daley. I didn’t know that much about him before the show but the way he and Charlotte Church snubbed Niko so early on just seemed so incredibly bitchy to me.

Tiswa · 01/11/2025 11:08

I think Stephen reads well and has an awful lot of knowledge but that doesn’t necessarily transfer into being able to do puzzles or gameplay. I think he also quickly realised he wasn’t the smartest in the room (Nick) and that had an effect on him too

Tom has always been that character we just see the 12 year old boy - Clare Balding has literally known him that long with the Olympic stuff

I think another thing about Stephen is that he has spent years being "a big dog" and people will defer and kowtow to him and he doesn't necessarily need the same type of people skills anymore that you need in the industry when getting started.

I think on the whole in life at this stage people are nice to him and he doesn't have to play the same interpersonal games that other people do-in a way his celeb cocoon has buffered him from "real life" so he hasn't need to be as sharp in his assessment of others.

I think I have explained that clumsily but just that he hasn't needed to suss people out in the same way at his age and those skills may fade with time.

CarefulN0w · 01/11/2025 11:29

I doubt Joe sees himself as a misogynist, because he probably believes he treats women well. The trouble is he doesn’t see us as equals. His discussion of leadership didn’t seem to consider women and he has talked across and dismissed the women far more than the men. Tom is another who thinks women are men’s support humans.

Apart from Joe's comment about Kate being a bit like a "ditzy damsel distress" , what has Joe done or said that suggests he's a misogynist? To be fair, posters here have been critical about Kate for being helpless, so why is it a problem that Joe points that out?

He thinks very highly of Celia, and I'm pretty sure I saw them arm in arm at some point, as they were leaving the round table room.

tennissquare · 01/11/2025 12:17

Kate and Mark have been on radio 2 this morning from 1100 - 1200, lots of chat. Kate came across well esp at the end when she talked about what the show had given her.

I.was talking to dh last night about it, mentioned finalists. He said what about David. ME Who is David 😳

Totally forgot he was there STILL😆

Gawd Kate really does think she’s sooo important and was a big deal in there doesn’t she. You’re neither love, sorry. You were a waste of a casting.

And the ‘putting herself down’. Nah, it’s fishing for compliments.

Have you any idea what she's had to deal with in her private life for the last few years?

CaveMum · 01/11/2025 12:31

It’s so easy to forget the earlier contestants though. I’m rewatching S2 with the DC and I had completely forgotten about half of them and kept thinking “who is that?!”

The 3 identikit blondes were a classic example!

ThePoshUns · 01/11/2025 12:42

Agree with others , the only misogynist on the show was ( is) Tom. He couldn’t hide it either.

I found her parting speech incredibly moving, and then I found out just how horrendously difficult the last five plus years have been for her. It is really sweet to think of something positive for her coming out of playing this tv game.

herbaltincture · 01/11/2025 13:18

Coffeeishot · 01/11/2025 08:21

She probably didn't even notice, they were chatting. She was getting herself organised to leave remembered her own,

She stared directly at it, seemed to do some mental computations, and then left it behind!

I wish I hadn't got involved in the glass conversation tbh. It is a wine glass she didn't pick it up and joe forgot to pick it up,

You said she probably didn't see it. She definitely saw it.

Well, or ‘Hmm. I’m not picking that up in case picking up the stray glass at the fire pit triggers some kind of secret last-minute murder in plain sight mechanism or something’?

dapsnotplimsolls · 01/11/2025 13:43

Last week, most of the post-show discussion was about Joe M, the week before it was about Ruth. Now it's about glasses 😂

Yeah, I can't wait for the next episode and for this thread to finish just so that the conversartion moves on from the wine glasses!

I can’t believe glassgate is still rumbling!

I imagine the production crew had given them some direction about this “okay you all leave one by one in this order, say goodnight, take your glass and walk up the steps”. Or they were told to leave the glasses. Either way, some did one, Joe did the other and when it came to Cat she had a moment of not being sure what to do.

Production should probably have just called Joe back “Joe can we just shoot this again, everyone else took their glass and you’ve left yours behind, it looks weird”. Maybe they didn’t notice, maybe they didn’t think anyone else would notice (or think it be worth days of online discussion!).

And? Pretty hard to miss it really given her many many articles, shows, interviews etc - but that doesn’t mean I have to like her.

Her “it’s all about meeee, look at meeee, let’s talk about meeee” demeanour is not a consequence of her husband dying, it’s a personality trait that I find really grating.

I love that you forgot Tom!

I completely forgot about Tameka!

MrsMitford3 · 01/11/2025 16:03

I had actually forgotten about Tameka as well.
I had never heard of her before but I liked her on Traitors.

Even worse someone was talking about kate and mark doing interviews and I couldn't think who Mark was 😫

I am at the age where I walk in to rooms and forget why...
