But Lucy is purportedly a comedian. Surely it is in her interest to be funny if not in the main show but at least in uncloaked.

She is probably one of those comedians who need hours to prepare, writing material.

Ive met a few comedians. They were so shy and quiet when off stage.

Appalonia · 30/10/2025 16:00

I thought it was interesting that JR said that it was actually a relief when he was voted as he wouldn't have to lie any more! We forget that it must be pretty stressful to be living a lie for so long, especially as he actually knew a lot of those people.

People are allowed to be quiet though.

How many of us would be loud and funny if we were being interviewed?

A lot of us would be shy and quiet

But that's why they were booked for Celebrity Traitors. To be good entertainment. Same as the casting for the non-celebrity version. Same as GBBO.

Jonathan wasnt funny on the show. Neither is Cat.

None of them are funny really except Alan and maybe Celia

You don't have to be funny to be entertaining.

WhisperingAngelisnotbad · 30/10/2025 17:10

Florencesndzebedee · 30/10/2025 09:56

The quote would seem a bit contrived and suspicious coming from Cat whereas Alan is used to hamming it up so that was the right choice.
I don’t think cat is dim but she needs to be a bit more vocal now otherwise suspicion will start to fall more heavily on her.
There are sometimes some really useless faithfuls left at the end. It can pay to be ditzy a la Kate Garraway.

I think that Kate has had a very successful career and is not stupid either. Being blonde and unthreatening is also a strategy. She is very good at laughing off any negatives charmingly, as she did on the chessboard sequence, when everyone suggested she was the weakest player. She has outlasted Stephen and Jonathan.

LillyPJ · 30/10/2025 16:52

Kate, David and Nick are neither funny or entertaining.

They definitely could have chosen more entertaining personalities

It's an invitation not a summons though (to quote a MN phrase). They may well have asked some others first who refused.

I think they got a good balance of people, to appeal to a wide audience. My DD had heard of Cat but not JR, whereas for me it's the other way round. She hasn't heard of Niko, but was far more interested when she found it he was a YT star.

dagoo · 30/10/2025 17:28

I find Nick entertaining, I think he's really charming. Agree David is very dull

I never said they needed to be funny. They were cast to be entertaining. I’m not a fan of Jonathan, but he was entertaining. I imagine Nick was cast for his smarts as much for his acting/comedy. Stephen Fry was cast for smarts/national treasure status, and for his likely effect on other players. (Not that he did anything at all interesting.) Not sure about David — a desire to cast someone other than comedians/actors/musicians?

dayswithaY · 30/10/2025 17:29

I’m not missing anyone being funny but I would have liked more back stabbing and double crossing, this lot are way too polite and self aware. They are also taking being murdered way too personally.

There are a couple of funny people in there and that’s enough, it’s not Last One Standing on Prime, nor should it be.

ThePoshUns · 30/10/2025 15:48

Being a comedian doesn't mean being an always-on clown.

Anyway, I recall laughing at a few things she said on Uncloaked, so she must have said something amusing.

TakeMeToAnIgloo · 30/10/2025 17:34

I enjoyed Jonathan on this as I liked watching the Traitors winning and just not being banished no matter how obvious, so I was kind of rooting for them as a team. Now I'm not so interested in them. I liked the jeopardy of so many suspecting Jonathan and him surviving every time, and I wanted to see if they could keep going without any traitors being found.

It's a bit less interesting to my mind now! Still hoping for Nick to win though as he's so clever with the puzzles and so nice generally.

Clearinguptheclutter · 30/10/2025 17:39

PeonyPatch · 29/10/2025 22:38

I personally feel Nick should win. He seems like the one person there who is genuinely likeable. Everyone else is either boring, forgettable or a total biatch 😆

I think I have a bit of a crush actually. He’s my age!

xsquared · 30/10/2025 17:46

I also find David rather dull. I don't know what it is, but he comes across as an academic bore. Although he is well spoken, he was pretty useless at the last round table choosing to go for Nick.

Ideal winners? Probably Nick, Joe or Celia for the faithfuls.

Of the traitors, Cat. She's definitely not dim, as some posters have inferred. JR himself said that she was very much involved in the decision making and murders in the turret.

Alan has been very entertaining but his time is nearly up.

CeliaFarts · 30/10/2025 17:49

Who has the shield tonight?

CaveMum · 30/10/2025 17:50

I will say this only once: there’s in an orderly queue for Nick, please take your place at the back

😜

Clearinguptheclutter · 30/10/2025 17:51

Bunnycat101 · 30/10/2025 14:09

I genuinely can’t work out if Kate is a bit dim or playing an absolute blinder by pretending to be ditzy. I don’t believe anyone can get on in journalism/broadcasting like she has without having a tough skin so i’m quite interested to see where she ends up.

I haven’t seen the previous series but is it possible that she wins just by pure luck? Unless she really does have something up her sleeve that would be very disappointing IMO as she’s been useless.
either the traitors OR Joe/Nick deserve to win IMO though I wouldn’t mind David or Celia. I suspect the latter two are going to get murdered though

CaveMum · 30/10/2025 17:52

CeliaFarts · 30/10/2025 17:49

Who has the shield tonight?

Joe

CeliaFarts · 30/10/2025 17:56

CaveMum · 30/10/2025 17:52

Joe

Oh, that’s a shame.

I think they’ll kill Celia, then, but I think from an entertainment perspective David needs to go. Although he was the only one not to vote for Jonathan IIRC so the remaining Traitors might try and use that to banish him.

I can’t remember if this is the last murder or if there is still one more to go.

MissMoneyFairy · 30/10/2025 18:00

CeliaFarts · 30/10/2025 17:49

Who has the shield tonight?

Joe, he and possibly the producers made sure he was the last one to cross the bridge and predictably got given the shield.

catchafluflu · 30/10/2025 18:05

David hasn't had that much airtime partly because he is a bit dull, soporific voice and all! I think he should stick to history programmes which he does well but he doesn't seem to have enough 'personality' for this kind of show. The likes of Alan, Joe and JR do. Not that everyone has to be outgoing (Nick is quieter but smart) but a programme like this needs some characters.

As for Kate, I've thought before now that she was a bit of an airhead - nice lady but not quite with it. Cat is not dim, she's quiet and shrewd in my eyes. Celia is doing the quirky older lady thing very well.

Umbilicat · 30/10/2025 18:06

I saw Nick in the street this morning!

I love him. I'd like him, Joe and Celia to win. Being dreadful Faithful doesn't matter if you can make it to the end.

All the people whining about Joe being aggressive and how dare Cat dob Jonathan in it ... have you ever watched Traitors before?

dapsnotplimsolls · 30/10/2025 18:09

I think loads of slebs will want to do the next one so the producers will have a wider choice.
