I saw another article about Ruth having a rant about Jonathan being a snake.

Apparently she has never watched the show-isn't that the whole point?

WonderfulSmith · 30/10/2025 09:00

strawgoh · 29/10/2025 23:45

It is only a saying at all because Shakespeare wrote it. It's one of the most famous lines from one of his most famous plays.

Well yes I know that. But what I mean is that I would think if it as a a saying first and then a Shakespeare quote. If I heard someone saying it I wouldn’t immediately assume they were quoting Shakespeare.

Holluschickie · 30/10/2025 09:01

I could not bear Ruth, even on Traitors Uncloaked.
So many of them probably never watched Traitors.
Joe Wilkinson left too soon. I liked his wry sense of humour.

Celia would be the easiest if it’s Alan doing the toasting/murdering, especially now she’s voiced her suspicions of him, but it would make sense for him to try to get rid of Joe?

RayonSunrise · 30/10/2025 09:07

AuntyAngela · 30/10/2025 07:59

But Joe wasn't saying there was an actual offical role they were put in. 🤣 Just that due to their perceived status and preconceptions others had about them, the two of them they would listened to and people would be influenced by them.

Joe's theory was when choosing the traitors one of them would be chosen and the other left a faithful. Meaning there would be two people in both groups who the others listen to and ideas they tend to follow.

Which is exactly what happened. After all, Stephen chosen to be "leader of the pack" and Jonathan many times managing to push the vote off himself at the round table

Yes, but that was JR’s point in Uncloaked. They had Clare Balding (household name, famous sports presenter and personality), Tom Daley (multi-time Olympian), Celia Imrie (celebrated actress), etc - so why would he and Stephen be the “big dogs,” except by the combo of fame, age and sex? Unpacking it, it’s a theory of leadership that has nothing to do with the game.

Joe has a shield?? 💀

I don’t think she has been clever though. She has just stayed quiet and under the radar. And while you can excuse some of her lack of general knowledge on being young, she seems remarkably incurious.

Maybe staying under the radar IS clever.

AsburyPark · 30/10/2025 09:07

Does anyone remember the wording? Does it explicitly say that they have to mention the person they want murdered IN the toast, or could it be something like he stands up and says “A toast to Jonathan, parting is such sweet sorrow” then sitting back down, leaving it say 30 seconds then starting a normal conversation like “Nick, what’s your thoughts now?”

Also, what if they just didn’t do it? Or did it that way if they’re not supposed to? Nobody gets murdered?

Yes, Joe has a shield. As far as I’m aware, he hasn’t really been onto Alan though? He was gunning for JR, and as of late, shown suspicions about Cat. Actually glad he has a shield to be fair..

I thought the obvious choice would be Nick

Yep I'd agree with this, she has added the least to the show.

As you said "nice but dim" pretty much sums her up.

I guess nobody gets murdered and the faithful assume they recruited.

They’ve got to say the name of the person after saying “Parting is such sweet sorrow”, so I’m guessing a pause would be ok.

If they don’t succeed then no one leaves. It then depends if Claudia tells them at breakfast that there was a failed murder attempt. If she says nothing they are going to assume a recruitment.

I forgot Joe had a shield. Good. He’s been one of the liveliest movers of late, and I think the rest of the show would be duller without him. Celia probably for the murder, then.

But if she spends the dinner being vocal about her suspicions of Alan, it might look too ‘obvious’ , though that’s probably manageable with the JR double bluff strategy, which worked perfectly well.

Holluschickie · 30/10/2025 09:24

I have this feeling Joe and Kate may win.

She went with the big dog theory which allowed her to push the narrative of Stephen until he was voted off. She’s been very calm under pressure when she has been targeted and as Jonathan said in Uncloaked, a lot of the decisions of who to murder (and it’s been good choices so far) were mainly led by her. What’s not clever about that?

Its a “theory of leadership” which only recognises one type of leader - male and prestigious and older.

Jonathan was spot on and I’m glad he highlighted the others who were just as eligible for that title if lazy assumptions hadn’t defaulted to the two most visible older men. They missed more than one chance to banish Ross when Joe’s hectoring style just turned people off and they ended up voting for someone else.

JoeMarlerseyes · 30/10/2025 09:33

i have never read/seen shakespear. yet have heard that saying. bet Cat has too.
think she is just pretending so that Alan has to do it. she is 25 so not that young.

ShowDownTime · 30/10/2025 09:33

I hope Cat goes at the next banishment. She is so boring. And it irritates me that she’s not a celebrity either 😂 Come on, she’s not known by most people who watch the programme, surely? And she was very quick to turn on her fellow traitors - unlike Alan who you felt voted for Jonathan reluctantly, to avoid suspicion. I really hope she doesn’t win.

Thanks, and @ThatCyanCat too.

If they fail but have still said it, and then Claudia says there was an attempted murder then that points the finger as well doesn’t it. Feels a bit like the producers are trying their hardest to get rid of another Traitor.

Delatron · 30/10/2025 09:40

I am also wondering if it may be staged. They all can’t surely be that bad. The way David had 5 votes one round table (or thereabouts) and Mark was voted out and was a Faithful. At no point did everyone then go back to David!! He was discounted from there on.

Equally how is Kate still in!

And Cat being so quiet yet never suspected. And how long Jonathan lasted despite all the suspicion.

I hope I’m wrong and they just are really bad Faithfuls.

I rarely know the celebrities in any 'Celebrity' type programme. It was nice to know several of this lot but there were at least 4 I'd never heard of. After a couple of episodes, it doesn't really matter to me whether they're celebrities or not but it did help with remembering names at the beginning.

She very much led the charge on Jonathan- though most people were on board with her. And since she’s normally so quiet people really listened. Great tactics from her though to be fair. That reduces suspicion on her even further….

Alan did just seem to go along with it reluctantly.
