Lewis and Amber were both brought in as last-minute replacements (Amber, very last minute). Neither was originally scheduled for the show this year. Both had to have some level of dance experience to be able to compete that late into the rehearsals.

Definitely agree. And I would go one step further and say that WHITE male ringers get a pass. I remember Karim and Layton getting all the vitriol, too.

Lewis and Danny Mac are just perfectly acceptable though. Funny that.

It's unfortunate that there are 2 ringers though. I wonder if they couldn't bring in another dancer who wasn't a ringer and they got immunity having just been drafted?

True enough. I really think the overuse of theme weeks is making things very unpredictable. Anyone can be landed with a horrible tune, costume and wig.
Nikita's trousers were just godawful. As was Jimmy's wig.

Nobody should be added in at this stage. They would have missed several dance-offs.

See, I like Lewis and know who he is being an Emmerdale fan but I wouldn't have presumed he's that popular with the voting public or even if many people know him as a celebrity. Could be wrong though of course. I think he comes across very well compared to some of the others. Plus he has Katya as his pro and I know she's had some controversy over the years but I still think she's a really popular pro.

To be honest I think this year they've had trouble finding people full stop. Much as I love Strictly, this is definitely one of their weaker years in terms of the line up.

I think to persuade people to vote for you you have to be well known, well liked or entertaining. I haven’t heard of the ringers and impressive dancing from the beginning doesn’t interest me. They should have 2 pros together if they want to pad out the numbers at the beginning because of drop outs and just have them withdrawing and no one else leaving weeks 2 and 3 or something. Alix Kingston is the only person I’d vote for this series and ai haven’t bothered so far as she doesn’t need me and we’re usually watching after the voting in the early weeks as it starts so early

Lauren, i didn't recognise her either.

I'd never heard of Lewis before now, but he's my favourite as I've enjoyed his dances the most and i agree he comes across well. When it gets closer to the final he'll be getting my votes. I also voted for Leyton, Danny Mac, Karim, Ashley Roberts and probably others considered ringers, as they were the ones I most liked watching and genuinely felt deserved to win.

I thought it was great. Lots of homage to the original videos. Katya looked sensational as did Nadiya. Britney had some cracking choons.
