Alright. All gloves are off. Claws are out. Finger clapping at the ready.

OP posts:
menopausalfart · 21/10/2025 23:33

@chaosmaker What the hell is kaolin and morphine? Sounds right up my alley.

Mangetoutmangetouti · 21/10/2025 23:34

Dillite2 · 21/10/2025 23:31

What kind of health reasons ban you from drinking? Clearly ones that don't care about your wellbeing

Lolololol rubbish ones , it’s just not cricket.
i never crave alcohol until im not allowed to drink it

Gagala · 21/10/2025 23:34

Merryoldgoat · 21/10/2025 23:23

@Gagala Then you could have said that without distinguishing between black and mixed race people in the unnecessary way you did.

I have no idea about your race or ethnicity but no one I know who’s black would use the term ‘monoracial’ which is unpleasantly divisive and inaccurate most of the time.

JR looks like your ‘monoracial’ friend. She looks like my aunt who is Spanish and Jamaican. So?

You cannot judge race just by looks which is what you were doing.

Everyone knew what the poster who made the original comment meant - you were the one who made it a bigger deal that it needed to be.

Edited

I literally said “you never know” so I have already agreed that yes I don’t know but I was explaining how and why she looks like a monoracial black woman to me. If someone else doesn’t see her that way fine. As I’ve repeated my point still stands even if she is mixed race so I’m not going to drag this out about her heritage.

Yeah I knew what that poster meant and I disagreed! Hence the points I made.

YOU may not like the term monoracial but it’s one that I am comfortable with and that’s increasingly used. I won’t go into it here but there’s various reasons for (some) people differentiating between the two. Definitely not unpleasant to me!

And are you to speak for everyone now? Some people agreed with my initial post anyway.

I find myself repeating the point over and over again that Keye having some Black heritage doesn’t mean he couldn’t be racially biased (although I don’t believe he is racist!) and at this stage I don’t think this is a good faith argument!

If it was on a race or politics board I’d happily continue but for the sake of everyone else I’ll end this circular argument here and won’t be engaging more on this. At least not on this thread. I stand by my point which I’ve made
multiple times now.

menopausalfart · 21/10/2025 23:35

Never mind. Used to treat diarrhea

Mangetoutmangetouti · 21/10/2025 23:37

menopausalfart · 21/10/2025 23:33

@chaosmaker What the hell is kaolin and morphine? Sounds right up my alley.

Old school. They were all on it back in the day.
That’s why women went around in dressing gowns or housecoats all the time, they just couldn’t get their shit together to get dressed properly every day 🤣🙌🏼
I made that last bit up but it must have been a nice buzzy medicine?

menopausalfart · 21/10/2025 23:42

@Mangetoutmangetouti 😂That'll be the morphine.

JaneJeffer · 21/10/2025 23:43

Just caught up and I’m annoyed with the unnecessary cliffhanger and the fact that I forgot to bookmark the thread but not as annoyed as I am that the ixpirts are excusing terrible behaviour and then getting preachy about lesser evils

Italiangreyhound · 22/10/2025 00:09

Kaolin and morphine, I think I remember that. I wonder if it was once called Milk of Magnesia. Which sounds nice but I would imagine tastes pants!

My key take away is that when I had an upset tummy, I remembered that bloody Pepto bismal advert and asked DH for Pepto bismal and I should ahve said Gaviscon! I used to have to drink the stuff all the time due to reflux and I had boots own el cheap on prescription!

I'd like to predict that the cliff hanger will be a dingle dangler and actually neither will want to jump ship.

I do think that yes, Divrarni does sound like he is commenting on a football match afterwards.

Italiangreyhound · 22/10/2025 00:10

Much as I do dislike what JR is doing I do think MAFS has a pile on mentality and once people are in the cross hairs it is easy for everyone to pile on, which is not fair.

I did find Steven's little smirk when JR mentioned him to be very telling, he can't help being flattered.

Did anyone else notice that Ash’s joke tonight was the same as the dickhead joke?

Tonight, talking about how he and Grace both use humour to manage and deflect:
Ixpert: and who is the funniest?
Ash: Me of course ( laughs and hugs Grace)

Yesterday, dickhead joke, referring to a row they’d had the night before:
Producer: What was the row about?
Ash: Grace was being a dickhead

Isn’t this just an example of everyday humour - pretending to answer a question for comic effect? Is it really so bad?

chaosmaker · 22/10/2025 00:33

Yup diarrhea medicine. Worked a treat, think Andrews' liver salts were used for dodgy stomachs. Bicarb and magnesium? Slightly fizzy and weird taste.

JellyBeanSpring25 · 22/10/2025 00:37

Kaolin & morphine

Dicks dipped into salted caramel liquor

i love this thread!!!

Italiangreyhound · 22/10/2025 00:41

I think I was wrong - "Lactulose increases the speed of intestinal contractions, stimulating bowel movements. Milk of magnesia is no longer widely recommended because of the potential complications it may cause for patients with heart or kidney disease. 8 There are safer and more effective options available."

Anyway, you ahve been warned, I would love to hear from anyone else who think Pepto Bismal tastes like Germolene !

Italiangreyhound · 22/10/2025 00:42

back to MAFs, I think i do still like Ash a bit and I do hope it works but I don't think he and Grace can work it all out.

Nah, usually he is saying she had jumped on him for something completely unnecessary with eye rolls and looks of "I know, what is she on!" with a big grin and pretends it's totes hilaire while confirming he is not going to change. He makes small negative comments about her into jokes, but they are there to remind her she is not acting how he likes, to shame her. I don't think he does it completely intentionally, which she also sees, but it does have the effect of putting her always on the defensive, which she has been trying to laugh off but he has taken that as a message it's fine to continue.

Tastes chalky and gross from what I remember of having it in the states.

chaosmaker · 22/10/2025 00:50

still don't like ash.

Italiangreyhound · 22/10/2025 01:24

*chaosmaker *

Thing is, it looks pretty pink!

Ash is an odd one, I think he could be nice, but I also think he wants to come out looking good, funny etc. I cannot imagine why he felt he needed to go on a TV programme to find a woman. He is quite attractive, but then Grace is very beautiful. Which makes me wonder why they are on it. I know that many of the others are looking for fame.

Garamousalata · 22/10/2025 04:09

I like Ashley and Grace, they are one of the more genuine couples. The relationship isn’t working though and they need to call it a day. The ixperts really put Ashley on the spot regarding Joe, it’s almost as if they knew. 🙄

However, Ashley handled that situation really well and he went up in my estimation. I like Maeve, there’s some deeply unpleasant comments on here about her, which isn’t fair. I hope she’s going to be okay. I know Joe is grieving but he should have told Maeve the truth, instead of putting Ash in an uncomfortable position.

#overinvested.

Pianoaholic · 22/10/2025 07:22

Hmm. Came to check the thread and found it's full of kaolin and morphine! (Which I remember being given as a child, and it looked disgusting in the bottle, with a brown liquid and white sediment! Lovely.)
Pepto bismol ad has a lot to answer for.
Looking forward to later and Div's decision. But I assume he's staying.

Dozeyduck · 22/10/2025 07:37

Thing is even if Div chooses to leave, she's going to write stay as we all know all she wants is the attention and fame & maybe the chance to shag ratboy....
So then they both have to stay don't they?
Also, producers probably want them to stay because she brings the drama. Same with Steven - his angry outbursts give the viewers something to watch so they want him there! Without all the people that probably shouldn't still be in the ixperiment as their relationships are false / broken / never going to work... (JR, Div, Steve, Nelly, Maeve, Grace) what would we be watching?! Lots of smiley plastic Botox faces with not much between the ears 😬

opencecilgee · 22/10/2025 09:05

I wonder how much time has passed from Joe leaving to the filming of the couples retreat?

surely Maeve cant stay in the marriage “experiment” if she has no husband ?

BestIsWest · 22/10/2025 09:47

Just marking place. Found a bottle of Kaolin and Morphine in DMs kitchen cupboard when I was clearing it out the other day!

cramptramp · 22/10/2025 10:31

I like Ashley. But Grace takes herself so seriously, she’s such hard work. I find people who can’t give and take a bit of piss taking really unattractive.

Grace said she is from a family that does take the piss but she felt Ashley only did it almost with a hidden agenda and to put her down. I remember dating a bloke like that - loved the ‘bantz’ at my expense purely to make others laugh. You can have give and take with ribbing and teasing but surely that evolves over time as you get to know each other? Not 3 weeks in when you have already been told you don’t like it at that point.

I think, in different company, Grace is probably funny and witty but she doesn’t feel the need to put others down to get a laugh.
