You have no idea what Julia-Ruth’s ethnic background is going simply by looks: she may also be mixed race.

Most mixed race people I know, certainly myself and all of my family, tend to refer to themselves as ‘black’ because generally speaking that’s how we’re seen, that’s how we’ve been brought up to feel and we’re constantly reminded we’re not ‘white’.

You don’t get to speak for all black or mixed people, no one does - but it’s perfectly reasonable to refer to Keye as ‘black’.

I am aware that some mixed race people identify as black, but the point I was making and clearly stated was that in reply to that poster - no it can’t be said that because Keye is “black” he is not being prejudiced towards JR. Not only because he is half white but because of internalised racism and misogynoir is a thing. So even if he was black we still couldn’t say that.

Again as my original post said I’m not saying he’s racist. Love Keye but him being mixed race doesn’t mean he can’t come at a monoracial Black woman or even a fellow mixed race woman with prejudice.

So no I didn’t say I speak for “all” anyone but that argument they were making was just unnecessary especially as no-one had even raised the idea of him being prejudiced AFAIK. That’s all.
