i'm not his fan club, i don't actually like his music.. but the same thing happened last year with Bruno Mars with people going "But he isn't an Icon." and others the year before because of ignorance over their history and impact globally of the artists who's music is being used.
My point, which people seem to be struggling with, is just because you haven't heard of them/don't like them/their music, or aren't aware of just how big they within their genre on the world stage, doesn't mean they aren't an Icon
