I think that was a definite pre record from a while back because of Gorka being there.

Oh I watched about 60.seconds of the spainish strictly last Saturday. There was a woman just crying in her vt crying through her dance crying at the presenter, I had to turn it off it was v v dramatic ! I did catch a glimpse of Gorka though.

I'm sure the "special" guest performances are a mix of pre-pre-pre recorded so done when the main batch of pro dances are recorded, pre-pre recorded so filmed at 'live' show but not shown the week that corresponds to that live and pre recorded i.e. filmed on a Saturday and shown that Sunday. So basically they film when the "star" is available and spread them out so there is one a week but they might film two one week and none the next week.

Yes, when he wasn't heaving Nadiya around he was mostly stomping. It wasn't really a dance.

For me it was very reminiscent of Giovanni and Faye Tozer's superb CC, but perhaps they both had the same origin?

It's become farcical and quite boring.
Strictly has had its day I think.

Argentine tangos and cc’s should be much later in the series I feel.

I’ve seen professional dancers dance right up until 8 1/2 months and then continue rehearsing with a babe in arms (in a baby sling) a few months later. They are incredibly fit and healthy.

Chris was the right one to go, it should be stefan or la Voix next week but both are quite popular. Feel sorry for balvinder she is not the weakest dancer but she is not popular

Definitely pre recorded a while ago, possibly 3 months, going by Carlos very short clippered blonde hair in show dance to his hair having 2 inch black roots in live show!

I agree about the AT I am sure they used to be reserved for later on in the series so they were a bit special, now they are just thrown in and ruined .

The used to pre-record the pro dances on the Saturday, after the studio audience had arrived but before the live show went out. Then, during Covid, they pre-recorded them all before the series started and realised that made the Saturdays far less fraught and so stuck to it.

I agree too, especially when dances like jive and American Smooth are barely getting a look-in.

I don’t think Strictly has had its day. Some things need fixing, as fans on this thread say every year, to no avail, but when all’s said and done, there’s the dancing. Dad dancers, ringers, whatever, it’s a light entertainment show with lots of dancing, and that’s what saves it.

My Rules for Strictly -

Week 1 & 2 - everyone dances a Waltz and a Cha Cha Cha
After this you must alternate between Latin and Ballroom each week - for the sake of balance the Salsa goes in the Latin category and Charleston in Ballroom
Scrap Couples Choice - this is what the Showdance is for
No ATs until semi-finals then everyone dances it on the same night

I am losing interest in Strictly. Too many sob stories, " journeys", biased judges, CGI, awful costumes, music, themed weeks...I could go on.

Totally agree! Could I add that Viennese Waltz can only be done ideally after Blackpool.

I'd also like to go back to the old rule of not having reality "stars" as celebs, but I think that ship has sailed.

Yeah i think reality stars are celebrities now, it is probably "us" that is out of touch.
