KEEP DANCING

Is Tom the worst ‘dancer’ in the history of Strictly? I haven’t been watching very long, but I find it hard to imagine there has ever been anyone worse.

Sadly you are wrong.

Google Ann Widdecombe.

I mean it seems pretty conclusive that he cheated on his wife which I believe he admitted. But perhaps he's lovely really.

If that was the reason he was getting the level of hatred he is, a great deal of the professionals and celebs would not reach your standard

And John Sargent is worth a Google too

Ann Widdecombe! Good grief. I can’t even imagine her attempting to dance. The mind boggles.

WarrenTofficier · 05/10/2025 20:16

(but if they want to fool ppl that both things are happening the same night, they shouldn't interview Karen/Carlos and then seconds later have Carlos appear as one of the dancers lol)

The thing is they aren't trying to fool anyone. We know it's filmed on a Saturday, they know we know it's filmed on a Saturday but it is broadcast on a Sunday so it would be odd if they referred to earlier this evening etc. No one seems to get themselves into a lather about Countdown, Richard Osman's House of Game etc all doing the same thing. Either they say tonight and it seems weird because to the watching public it was yesterday or they say yesterday and people accuse them of trying to trick them. Either way it will bug some people.

Her paso doble I think it was. Is a thing of wonder . And her salsa?!?

A merciful result for Amy at least

A merciful result for us all.

In the early series there were more that really couldn’t dance. Off the top of my head Chris Parker, Quentin Wilson and Diarmuid Gavin to name a few

BogRollBOGOF · 05/10/2025 20:45

That was the right outcome.

It's going to be a difficult call on voting for the next few weeks now!

I loved the swirling dresses in the group dance.

Chris Parker must win the award for unbelievably shit dancer who went a very long way. I seem to recall Craig being increasingly infuriated.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 05/10/2025 20:53

I think he got so far because Series 1 was part of the Sport Relief brand and therefore a bit of fun for charity. Still remember Natasha’s Paso as one of my favourite ever dances

John Sergeant voluntarily withdrew after weeks of “null points” with the public voting him back in. His Paso was quite the spectacle, dragging Christina around like a sack of coal.

Kenny Dalgliesh was terrible, kept in by the sporting vote for weeks on end (didn’t his much better wife go out in an earlier round?). Ola Jordan spent so much time dancing around him in next to nothing that one of the judges (Craig?) described it as pole dancing.

Its not surprising that bad dancers with big fan bases stay in the early weeks and sometimes, particularly for sports stars that works and they get a lot better. Its annoying when they are totally rubbish, not improving and good couples go out in their place after the early weeks.

Edited

for me, it's more Claudia with "let's welcome our guest singer XX" and turning aorund as if the guest is appearing down below. but it doesn' bother me. it's just one of the quirky parts of the Sun night show (for the viewers).

FrothyCothy · 05/10/2025 20:58

Delighted that Tom’s bottom two position means there wasn’t a secret army of Farages out there voting for him.

🤣 My only memory of Chris Parker is him sliding about on his knees with a constipated facial expression. It says a lot about the quality of S1 that he was a finalist.

Mokel · 05/10/2025 20:59

I just caught up with the Results show.
I don’t like the new format of leaving the last 4 to decide who is in the bottom two. Claudia didn’t have a chat with Jimmy n Lauren and Stefan n Dianne in the Clauditurim. Go back to the old format of two halves and name a couple in the bottom 2 in each half.

Also the music played whilst Tess reveals names isn’t right.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 05/10/2025 21:00

@C8H10N4O2Do you mean Kenny and Gabby Logan?

OP posts:
SparklyStrictly25 · 05/10/2025 21:00

I’m pleased with that outcome this evening. It was the right result (in my opinion!).

I also felt sorry for Stefan and Harry that they didn’t get to celebrate being through or talk to Claudia.

Mine too. And her outfit was extremely simple by today's standards but totally effective and she looked stunning in it.

@AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSantaClaire Sweeney and Lesley Garrett were pretty good, still lost the public vote to Chris

It’s good they changed to online with a maximum number instead of telly voting as that can be manipulated more I feel.

Piggywaspushed · 05/10/2025 21:03

I mean, I'd be all for Dalglish on Strictly . The man's a legend. But he's not done it.

I knew Claire Sweeney did it but I have no memory of her on it. Lesley Garrett was good and she ended up being one of Anton's better partners. Not that the bar is particularly high!

Also I think the PP must've meant Kenny Logan but I'd love to see Kenny Dalglish tackling Strictly. Hopefully next year!

I believe it was a teenage voting. Claire Sweeney, Martin Offiah and Lesley Garrett were miles better but were robbed.

In the final, Chris had 63 out of 120. Natasha had 102.

Usually the point difference between the couples in the final is around 5 between top and bottom!

WarrenTofficier · 05/10/2025 21:06

I was about to say Kenny Dalglish hasn't done Strictly! He is one of my absolute heroes and would definitely be on my fantasy Strictly line up (well a younger Kenny would be).
