He probably has been asked but he never sought TV opportunities away from football and is a private person (he had admitted to laying on his accent as strongly as possible in interviews to try to cut them short) so much as I would love him to have done it I don't think it would be is bag at all.

Glad to have got to some eliminations, the show is just sooooo long at the moment! It gets tedious when it takes up the entire evening.

I thought all the dances bar Tom were pretty decent, his was just ridiculous. Bonkers was about right! I hate tongues being stuck out all over the place anyway. It was the right call for him to go, regardless of any personal opinion. I can well believe that in private, away from cameras and with a pretty young lady like Amy he was a perfectly pleasant man, as long as politics wasn’t discussed.

Loved Balvinder, George and Harry. Ringers don’t impress me and it feels like Lewis was dialling it in a bit this week. Maybe playing a bit ‘dumb’ so he can then wow people in a week or two? Vito did a wonderful job with that dance for Ellie, just a perfect princess waltz, teenage me would have loved that. Ellie is just the sweetest and her innocence is so refreshing on a show that has got a bit too ‘knowing’, I hope they manage to keep that for her.

I reckon that Vicky and George will be in the final, not sure who else at this stage.

The poster @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOnehas decided that they would like to take over as the OP this week having not been happy with my efforts. I have told them they are welcome to do so, so please look to them for thread admin this weekend

Actually, I would prefer to follow and comment on your OP @EineReiseDurchDieZeit. I think you'e doing a really fab job, and I don't see how anyone can complain.

It’s difficult because these threads are really supposed to be about Strictly and not about me as the OP and I think the talk should be around the show.

I have found the criticism quite disheartening, you can’t please everyone

I'm not a martyr nor am I a gatekeeper so if someone thinks they can do a better job than me they can show that

The last thing I want to do is cause an argument but I think wording it like this is a bit unfair. I may have misinterpreted but I read their post on the other thread as an offer to help and take turns to be the OP and take the pressure off you, if you would like that, as you said in an earlier post in that thread that anyone would be welcome to offer to be the OP if they would like. I genuinely don’t think it was meant as “I’m taking over as I can do a better job” but just an offer to help if you would like it, as it can be stressful managing fast-moving threads with the sole responsibility on you when you are also trying to enjoy the show/get on with general life. If you say you’re fine and would like to set up the threads next week I don’t think the other poster will object, though obviously I may have misinterpreted.

I read your post on the other thread as an offer of help and not nastily meant. I think there have been some crossed wires in how things can sound/be interpreted when read on a screen.

And that's why most people believe that there ought to be one thread at a time, plus a Spoiler thread.

The Strictly thread is always one of my favourites.
