I know it is probably strictly treason to say so but I think it's time for Vicky G to be replaced. Costumes have been getting worse and worse for years so I'd love someone with fresh new ideas to step in.

Not so sure Alex deserved 8 scores!

I think there might have been a spot of oh we under marked her last week and she deserves a slightly high place on the leader board now we have seen two dances so over score this week to lift her up.

Alex is doing very well. Tom is ghastly. Ellie danced beautifully.

Am getting confused, just realised there are now 3 threads going this one, a spoilers one and now a post show chat….

Why do we need a post show chat separate thread? Will end up posting in the wrong one 🤣surely a normal
thread and a spoilers is sufficient🤔

I agree. I appreciate that people said they would like a new thread for each show but could that just be set up each Saturday afternoon, and conversation flow on the same thread each week until a new one needs to be set up? I find the split conversation really confusing.

The other thread is for post show chat and results. It means Eine can start one in advance and not have to start a new one in the middle of the programme.

I think that's making it unnecessarily complicated. There are too messy conversations going on simultaneously now.

We only need one thread for the show, including the chat afterwards, and one thread for the Spoiler.

Please can we revert to last year's format?

Oh, and one for the videos, but that one doesn't get anywhere as much traffic.

I appreciate that, but the new thread was started almost 24 hours before the results show is due to start and when this one still had about 7 pages to go. A lot of people will still post in the thread they were posting on during the show, or just the one that says ‘Week 2’ if they haven’t posted yet. I was just saying that it might be easier and clearer for everyone to wait until we’re on the last page or close to the start of the Results Show to start the new thread. I don’t want to come across as ungrateful to those that start the threads and regular posters (as I am much more of a lurker), just expressing another option

I think this expressed what I was trying to say much more succinctly!

I asked for a general consensus a while ago whether to use the old system or do weekly threads. The consensus was that a weekly thread was better. I started a new one because there’s less than 200 posts left. I would do that anyway regardless of old style/new style.

New style is easier for me because I’m not arsing about unable to enjoy the show because I have to have one eye on the post count.

I don’t think it’s particularly difficult to click on a link and move on though. I have made sure to post links more than once.

Perhaps next week wait until the main show thread is almost full/at least mid afternoonish on Sunday before starting a separate results show thread? That sounds like a fair compromise?

@Ellmau As well as the fact the thread was running low I had other things to do and couldn’t wait to watch it tick down and thought it best for people to have somewhere to move to as I thought it would run out more quickly than it actually has. You can’t please everybody, but I will try again next week as you suggest! If anyone would like to try being the OP, give me a shout.

I'm sure it's difficult to judge these things! I will add that I do like having a dedicated thread for each episode; I think last week was a bit different because there was no Sunday show so talk was always going to exceed the first thread.

@Ellmauit’s a trickier task than people realise and it’s quite hard to juggle when everything is happening all at once, I wanted to give myself space by slowing it down. I’m glad you like the weekly thread, I think it helps people that it’s timestamped.

I’m guilty of not reading all the posts about the different threads, but I have a suggestion that a really clear title ‘formula’ eg ‘Strictly Week 2 Dance Sat 4 Oct’ then ‘Strictly Week 2 Results Sun 5 Oct’ or something similar? Then just adjust the dates etc? Apologies if it’s an unwanted/unneeded suggestion. You’re doing sterling work, thank you.
