Does anyone else get a really bad creepy vibe from
Ross?!??? Wouldn’t be surprised if his name
came out in a grim scandal at some point…

I don't like Lewis at all. Amber is sweet, but a ringer. I voted for Balvinder, Alex and Ellie. Vito and Ellie's dance made me tearful, so beautiful.

I find Ross very likeable, actually.

Can we vote Tess out?

I voted Chris, Ross, Balvinder, Alex & Jimmy.

No creepy vibes at all from Ross. He has a bit of OTT earnestness probably picked up from years in the states but don’t find him offensive.

Voted for Lewis, Karen, George, Ellie and Le Voix.

If Only

I love Nikita but I've really not taken to Amber and I don't really know why. But it's annoying as I usually vote for Nikita. I also don't know why they were so surprised over Bal, it was obvious last week she could dance. I went for Bal, Alex, George, Karen and Lewis.

She is incredible! I saw her when she was in Anton & Gio's show a couple of years ago. She is so talented.

Lauren and Jimmy are a great partnership.

What a great show.

Feeling that the dance information and feedback, including teaching steps and using different teaching styles to match pupil need, has really improved. More technicality ( well for me as a none dancer). Feels more focussed on dance.

I liked that Ellie learns visually and Vito and the judges included visuals to help. I'd not thought about someone like Harry being too strong and fast and needing to learn to reign it back.

Maybe a tightening of the focus given all that has happened.

The partnerships feel well-balanced this year

I think whoever chose the music this week matched them to the dances via the medium of blindfold darts with the dances on the board. They must have then shared the blindfold with wardrobe and this week's spray tanner.

• Alex - loved her dance with Johannes, marks made up slightly for being undermarked last week
• Karen Carney - I really look forward to seeing her progress, I think she was undermarked
• La Voix - seeméd to struggle with the jive but so would I
• Jimmy - love Jimmy, love his rhythm, I wish wardrobe also loved him
• Ellie - sweet, I think voters will keep her in
• Thomas - just awful. I had to look up the dance as I’d missed the intro. Our prepschool boy cosplaying as a working class “geezer” will doubtless be kept in by his hordes of followers
• Harry and Karen - so pleased she has a decent partner this year, I loved the dance even though there were a few errors
• Ross - I hope he beats Skinner
• Amber - too good to be true but enjoyable to watch
• Vicky - enjoy watching her, does she have previous? I can’t remember
• Chris and nadiya - so much better, hope they stay in as the sporties often show such dramatic improvement through the series
• Stefan - plainly struggling but slightly better than I expected
• George - amazing for a non dancer or perhaps Alexis is just really good teacher and he has that sporting fitness to help.

I really hope Tom is in the dance off but unlikely.

Was interested to hear Shirley’s comments about “proper” Cuban Cha cha. I remember Arlene Philips making similar comments about the Argentine Tango and how it was danced in Buenos Aires. From my limited experience watching both in their home countries by much older casual dancers, the dancers looked like sex on legs and I’d love to see a round doing real traditional Latin.

And thank you so much to whoever reminded me of Charles Venn’s dancing…

On "The rest is Entertainment" they said phone votes were minimal and easy to rig, online votes where you have to log in are harder to do multiple times. Once the phone votes raised loads of money, but in the last couple of years they barely covered the costs of setting up the phone system. Everything has gone on-line only apparently as BT have stopped doing it.

They seem to try to put the previous year's winner with a duffer, if only to give them a more restful year. It doesn't always work out, of course.
