You lot need to stop talking so much. I am 3 pints of gin in, it's hard work with everyone wanting to be in my business 😉

Thank you for the new thread. Just finished catching up. I think it was a bit harsh of Anita to not turn up to the Dinner Party with Bez. I hope Nelly dumps Stevo asap.

Pianoaholic · 04/10/2025 16:39

Thanks @Dillite2 .
I couldn't believe hiw quickly the last thread got to 40 pages!

Thanks @Dillite2 I haven’t managed to psych myself up enough to watch the intimacy episode yet. I hate cringe.

And so early to be rolling out the box of dildos and plugs too 😱

Italiangreyhound · 04/10/2025 19:04

"Do the UK contestants also go to remote islands in the south Pacific?"

The Philippines.

FirstCuppa · 04/10/2025 19:06

I've started watching Stranded too! Only on Ep 2 so far but it's a good stop-gap for MAFS on the nights it's not on! Slower to warm to the couples though. Lots of the men look like they have multiple traumas and toxic responses to relationships but, weirdly they are aware of them (which is more than most of the MAFS men).

Garamousalata · 04/10/2025 19:14

It hasn’t taken long for Steven’s true colours to show up. After his angry, foul language performance he should be told to leave. Otherwise, what message is MAFS sending out about acceptable behaviour in males?

Italiangreyhound · 04/10/2025 19:45

@FirstCuppa
UK or Australian stranded.

Where can I watch Australian stranded?

QueSyrahSyrah · 04/10/2025 20:15

Catching up on episodes since the CC. Christ the group intimacy session has made me cringe myself all the way inside out. I’m like one of those weird hairless cats now.

Mafsisback · 04/10/2025 20:23

I’ve been bingeing on the new season since yesterday. I am still reading thread 3 and just finished watching episode 8 I think so I’m a bjt behind but have strong opinions already,

I had a wee look at the headline about Steven and honestly I’m not shocked.

I was surprised Nelly even entertained him, this young successful career woman being lumbered with a man who has 2 kids that are allegedly his world?

If that really was the case he would probably be still with the ex or at the very least not gallivanting around on a show like that. And if it is the case well it’s not great that she’s going to be so far down on a man’s list of priorities. At that age there are plenty of men without kids. I always want to hear what the mother of the kids think about this.

And that other bloke with the 2 year old is ridiculous too. It looks questionable enough that his relationship broke down so soon after he had his kid. There are exceptions but typically women don’t chuck out a decent man when the kid is young so it makes you wonder if either he walked out or he was just useless. Either way he should be focusing on co-parenting at this stage rather than going away for months to “find love”.

Interestingly he brings up how his Dad abandoned him but I wonder how much of a present father he is.

Yes a lot of men on this series have kids and I think Maeve is the only woman? I've never really understood the men with kids being on it, as usually they have free time more often than single mums, which is why they used to have more mums on the show - they literally don't get to go out and have time away from the kids to find a man. I think they are trying to make it about "equality" but I don't think I agree that it is the same level of difficulty to date for a man and a woman when you have kids and split. There will be some outliers to that but generally we seem to see the guys with the kids have been abusive to the exes or cheated, which is why they are single.

PollyDarton1 · 04/10/2025 21:22

Place marking for tomorrow night. Hope Steven gets kicked off the little lout.

Florencesndzebedee · 04/10/2025 21:28

Feel really sorry for Sarah. She has to be ‘nice’ about Dean when he’d be a nightmare to be with it. No insight into his behaviour - he’s very immature. Has there ever been a more mismatched couple! He would give me the proper ick and I’d have walked by now.

Leigh also has a very unattractive personality -I don’t think she’ll ever have a successful relationship but I like Leah.

I agree, IME with a lot (not all) of the men who are single with young kids it usually comes out they were horrible partners/fathers and once they leave think having their kids EOW means they’re amazing.

One reason so many men with kids are on it is probably because in most cases they don’t have majority custody, and unlike the mothers are seemingly quite happy to be parted from their young kids for several weeks/months.

And yes as you say they do have the free time to go out and meet a partner, but they’d rather do this for the fame and insta followers even if it means leaving a toddler
or special needs child etc for an extended period.

Which kinda proves the earlier point about their (lack of) commitment to parenting…

tumpymummy · 05/10/2025 01:04

What is a shame is that I think some people have just been matched for good TV. eg Nelly and Steven. Feels very unfair on Nelly who is already vulnerable..

CareerChange24 · 05/10/2025 01:23

I’m really confused by Sarah. Did she lose a lot of weight and that’s why she’s critical of Dean? Her arms are saggy and her body isn’t toned but her chin!!!! She has no neck just an extremely saggy chin. I feel zero remorse in being catty and she’s felt zero remorse in tearing Dean down.

You've just said a lot more nasty things about her than she has actually said about Dean.

She called him a Care Bear and the editing of that's going to affect the rest of her life.

Sarah hasn't 'torn him down'. She called him a care bear and said she doesn't fancy him. You can't force yourself to fancy people just because they want you to. We all have a right to say 'thanks, but no thanks' and Sarah, rightly so, is exercising that right.

Sarah is the one who has been torn to shreds by the non-experts for voicing that she doesn't fancy him to multiple people.

Your comments about Sarah's body are nasty. She hasn't said anything remotely like that about Dean, who is utterly repulsive visually and personality wise.

We need to call out bullshit editing as it is what makes the show so hard to watch. I was wondering if the gay production man who Sarah allegedly said she fancied (again we never saw that but they were clearly drinking with her to get her to say things) has a crush on Dean and is stirring the pot. They clearly only have abusive men keeping the show interesting otherwise.

@Italiangreyhound

Stranded Aus is on BBC iPlayer

I'm watching the UK one and it's slower paced but far more realistic than MAFs - plus they let them set themselves up so there's at least a modicum of attraction. It seems so far the men are far more aware that they have issues which is really refreshing. Every man on MAFs thinks they've been hard done by or are too good for anyone and never seem to reflect on their own behaviour at all. I feel, 3 episodes in, I am learning much more about the people on Stranded, rather than "characters" on MAFs.

CatAsstrophe · 05/10/2025 09:39

I agree about the 'selective editing'. It's part of why I keep saying at the end of every series that I'm not watching it again.

Women being abused, vilified, targeted, bullied and coerced should not be on TV as it sends the wrong message that women don't have a choice and we should give in to men (to feed their ego).

In Sarah's case, being on the end of bullying and coercion by non-experts who think she's being unreasonable for not leaping into bed with that repulsive bastard is so wrong.

MAFS enables abusers. Dean, playing the victim, and revelling in the non-experts siding with him, imho, borders on abuse.

Florencesndzebedee · 05/10/2025 09:40

It’s so frustrating and ‘wtf’ with Dean saying he will give Sarah one more chance! I honestly think she should have walked at this stage as the production team were manipulating her with the edit. This was evident when she was blindsided by the ixperts attack on her at the commitment ceremony. It was totally out of proportion to what she said.

FirstCuppa · 05/10/2025 09:44

It is heartbreaking looking at the abuse she is getting from the public - just because the production team have decided she has to be the villain. Someone else said it earlier but I wish we could have seen more of the real Sarah, as she looks like a real laugh when we see snippets.

Does she work in PR or something? Iirc

This is all because Paul blindsided her when they chose to stay or leave - at that point she had just met up with people and had what she thought was a fairly decent night, no doubt, updating the other women about her feelings. She was so emotionally distressed afterwards I do think she would have chosen to go if she had any idea how the production team were going to spin "Care Bear" chopped in with her laughing at something else. Even then though the show traps them in because Dean wants a job on the screen and won't let her go until he is assured of that.

I bet they get fined a fuck-tonne if they just walk. So they pick people who wouldn't be able to afford the legal fees.
