I met Stefan a year or so ago. He is really tiny, so it was no surprise he'd be matched with Dianne or Jowita. He's around 5ft 6, but very slight in build

Unlike many of you I'm expecting Thomas to be in for quite a while. He's got a massive social media following, and will be seen as the underdog, not just for his ability but also because he 'thinks like normal people do'. The narrative that anyone leaning right isn't welcome in this sort of thing is being leant on heavily out there. The Rest is Entertainment podcast shared some polling on which parties the viewers of various shows supported, and Strictly comes out Reform.

So I am braced for weeks and weeks of watching him wandering about like a sack of spuds. And he'll probably emerge incredibly popular too.

I think unfortunately that once "the powers that be" decide on an angle they will push through the VTs, questions in interviews and the edit so if the have cast him as Mr Muscle they will show that at every opportunity!

<Sigh> yeah you are right, I can see the VTs with him flexing and lifting Karen with 1 hand.

Talking Of Shirley I just hope she doesn’t massively patronise Ellie but I can see it happening because patronising is her default setting!

I've no doubt the audience for Strictly is right leaning as it's generally older people watching it. Having said that, my in-laws stopped watching it a few years ago - the year Dave Myers was in it. They "didn't like him" which was probably code for it's becoming woke or something. Plus, I wouldn't put previous recent winners as obvious faves of Reform types.

I fear Doubleraspberry might be right about Thomas I'd his number of followers are anything to go by.

It will be like Pete Wicks iall over again just on his popular vote. At least Pete was likeable and funny though. Thomas just annoys me.

He was in Billy Elliot so is most likely a decent dancer. Plus he was in a boy dance group. Still want him to do well seen as he's local and I know his sister 😅

Sounds like he will do well, maybe be like Kelvin fletcher who was a replacement and win.

I looked up Thomas on x Whatever you might say about him he makes a mighty Sunday roast.

Strictly went Labour last year! I think it's a reflection of a few things, not just age. But it's always been right leaning. I think it's great that the winners have varied more than you'd expect from the viewership, but there will be a lot of support for Thomas' views nonetheless.

I think she'll be OK with Vicky, as she's a northerner. It's usually the Londoners who rub her up the wrong way, iirc.

Which one is the Rugby fella? I knew there was an ex-football player but I must have missed a Rugby guy??

He's partnered with Naydia. Rugby players have mostly done OK in the past so I'm not sure he will be an early exit.
